  • This Clickfunnels review shares why I left Clickfunnels, the bugs and CF support issues that caused me to migrate my site away. this is an important video for any potential click funnels customers.
    Why I Left Clickfunnels... And Where I Migrated My Membership Site To: www.milesbeckler.com/why-i-lef...
    Now my marketing stack consists of Wordpress on Thrive Themes, Thrive Cart, Active Campaign, Active Member 360. I call this the 'DIY Sales Funnel' approach and cover it in depth at www.diysalesfunnel.com
    If you want to learn how to setup a funnel in Thrive Themes I created a 10 video series that shows step-by-step how to create a click funnels alternative, which you can find here : • Best DIY ClickFunnels ...
    The organization on that playlist is a little rough for those DIY sales funnel videos, so I created a blog post that hosts everything in a easier to follow order www.milesbeckler.com/clickfun...
    I mention my membership funnel that is doing really well... This is mainly because of the funnel structure itself (not the software that runs the funnel) If you want to know how that is setup in detail, go here: www.milesbeckler.com/six-figur...
    The idea that you are one funnel away… Or that somehow the sales funnel is the big solution that will save you and your business is completely false. Sales funnels can definitely be helpful but they are simply a tool.
    There have been dozens of new sales funnels software's released this year and I put up a video to help share an analogy to put this sales funnel gold rush into perspective • ⚠ WARNING ⚠ Avoid This...
    Whether you build your funnel on click funnels, lead pages, WordPress, or with basic HTML pages the software is an insignificant component.
    Your offer, your messaging, the trust you built with your audience is ultimately the key to your success with your sales funnel.

      Miles Beckler Yeah, in chat they like to say "This is how it works" instead of "this is an obvious bug, thanks for reporting it". They need a publicly accessible bug tracker, like any application. ClickFunnels is actually sort of awesome compared to some funnel makers, really (minus the membership area part), but they need to take software development far more seriously. I also notice that they use Intercom for promotional emails, whereas they should be using Actionetics. That's just ridiculous. They need to "dogfood" everything they sell, like a real software company.

    Thanks Miles! I've been playing around with different methods aside from the affiliate branding I'm growing through this channel but I've been experimenting through CPA Marketing in Maxbounty and really know theres potential within Facebook ads for conversions but haven't quit got the key in the right slot to unlock it. primarily I'd like to be able to promote the offer in the ad with the link acting as a 301 redirect, but without the hassle of creating a website for it or coding landing pages. Do you recommend any software or structures on how you run some pretty successful funnels through facebook ads? would love your insight!

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +2

      Using WordPress makes everything pretty simple once you get the hang of it… Creating 31 redirects in 307 redirects is as easy as entering or link, new link in a plug-in in a WordPress site and boom it's there.
      This video series will show you how to create a funnel on WordPress with the theme I use: www.milesbeckler.com/wordpress-funnel
      One tip… Build an email list! Sounds like your direct linking people from Facebook to CPA which yes might work, that's how I made my first money online… But the moment Facebook gets what you're doing though put a stop to it and your income will disappear completely if you don't have a list. If you send people from Facebook to your list then to the CPA offer you can send them to several CPA offers through your follow-up sequins and when Facebook flips the script on you you still have your email list meaning you still have an asset that can create income for you even though the game has changed

    Hey Miles. Question how does the login form and edit profile look with ac360 and thrive? I have thrive themes, tc and use ac. The thing about thrive themes is they strip some css and then the forms look like 1997 old. I want front end editing and no admin bar view. Thanks and thanks for sharing your experience.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +1

      Right now, the log in page is the wordpress login page.... Gotta get our logo on there and get rid of that W... lol.
      There is no admin bar and they don't have an edit profile page yet... But, with that said, I will be adding on BuddyPress and think they will get all kinds of new profile functionality, I believe.
      I don't know if the no admin bar was standard or if my integration guy did that... If you want any help with customizing your setup, I highly recommend Dave at www.integratepro.com he did a lot with AM360 and WP for me.

    With their monthly payment system being buggy, should I just use another service to take care of that part specifically and integrate it into ClickFunnels? Do they allow that?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +1

      I do believe it's possible to integrate a different payment system... When I started the migration, I thought I was can leave click funnels in place for part and integrate another system to work with click funnels. The integration specialist I hired had warned me against this approach because it created unnecessary complexity which leaves room for problems in the future. His recommendation was to move to a unified system that was stable and rely on one system to handle everything.... And now that I've completed the migration I am so thankful I did!

      Hey Tony, thanks for the comment... So I'm using Thrive card to manage the checkout process and they just rolled out an affiliate module that works with Thrive cart. You drop a couple of resources/links here below for you if you want more information.
      First I just completed a post on my site about Thrive or ClickFunnels; which goes a bit deeper as a direct comparison, here: www.milesbeckler.com/choose-your-marketing-funnel-platform/

    Thanks for sharing this info. Nice to hear a product review that's not an affiliate pitch. I recently retired as a mechanical designer in Canada and moved to Thailand in order to start my next chapter in life. Right now I'm researching the idea of helping small businesses develop conversion optimized single landing page style websites they can use in ad campaigns. Found your CZcams channel about a week ago and watched probably 50% of your videos already. Thanks for doing a great job, love the info you've been putting out. Two thumbs up!

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +2

      My pleasure Dean! Sounds like I just missed you in Thailand... Are you in Chiang Mai? If so have you found Johnny's nomad coffee club meetup yet?
      This is brilliant.... "helping small businesses develop conversion optimized single landing page style websites they can use in ad campaigns"
      I would add a 2nd page to that and maybe a third (One Time Offer and Upsell) but this really is brilliant.
      Helping businesses that throw away money on branding based advertising (with no tracking) and focus on direct response marketing with a measurable ROI is a massive opportunity.
      Then it leads into all kinds of other potential services you can outsource and sell or bring partners on to fulfill... Copywriting, PPC campaigns, etc.
      And with your mechanical engineering background I can only see benefit in organization and structuring of everything... I mean... Why not use CAD to build a funnel? :D

    • @jason.tremere
      @jason.tremere Před 5 lety

      The affiliate pitch is there, just more subtle. When you go to his site for ThriveCart, you get redirected to an affiliate link that costs $595 for that 1 tool as an example.

      Google analytics mainly. Obviously I've got my Facebook pixel installed and I cross-reference my hard data from the email list and my shopping cart.

      As long as they actually opted in, and you reach out to the company you are migrating to before it is usually super simple... Export list from one, import to the other.
      Ask to make sure they will let you upload the list and not have to re-confirm since they already confirmed. They 'get it' and can even help import the list, sometimes. But even DIY it is super simple

    Can you talk a little about how a wordpress site is able to grant and withdraw access to members when using stripe either as a standalone or with an intermediary like samcart etc for payments? Thanks.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety

      You will pretty much always need a plugin to interface with Samcart/Stripe and your WordPress site. I'm using ActiveMember360 (that connects ActiveCampaign [my email service] and Wordpress) and this is a bit more complex than most beginners need.
      MemberMouse is a great option and it eliminates the need for SamCart as it includes the checkout page... You integrate Stripe to MM, integrate your email service to MM and configure it like a normal plugin on Wordpress... Product A gives access to pages /a, /b, /c.... Product B gives access to pages /c, /d, etc.

    Does Thrive Themes integrate natively with ThriveCart or through scripts?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +1

      Thrive cart is a super easy one… There's no real integration required as all you do is include a thrive cart link to your product/checkout page on thrive cart in the button from the sales page. So in that sense it's very simple no real integration simply make the button URL your thrive cart URL... easy cheese

      Great question.... And honestly, it is a coin toss. One question I have for you is... Do you have any WordPress experience at this point? If so, I'd lean towards continuing down that path.
      The more I reflect on CF and my business, in general, the more I realize how important it is to retain control over all aspects of your business, down to the software the funnel/website is built on.
      Wordpress being built on an open source platform that allows infinite customization vs. ClickFunnels being built on a closed platform limits customization, troubleshooting and puts you at the whims of a 3rd party with zero recourse.
      That can have some seriously negative long-term impacts on your business... What if they sell CF to a 3rd party (LeadPages did) what if that 3rd party offers even worse support?
      They sell a short term benefit of 'saving time' when really they have so many more potential long-term detriments... To me, I'm happy I canceled my account there and am "out from under" their reign.
      Hope that helps.

Hopefully you can work with Thrive (Shane and Paul) and they can roll out a fully functional membership system without some of the glitches of other platforms.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety

      To manage the access to your 'members area' that is built on Thrive's apprentice system you need a plugin to handle that... MemberMouse.com is a good one because it handles checkout and access to the content.
      Thrive is just a theme... So just the 'look' and 'layout' not the functionality of making sales and giving customers access to the appropriate pages... Just the look of those pages.
      Make sense?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety

      It will truly vary on a lot of factors... Do you have a site built and the member's area already built up? If no design is needed, it is simply a few hundred in tech and possibly less to get it all working together...
      But there are a lot of ways to set it up... Dave at IntegratePro will do a free call with you to discuss more in depth with you about your specific situation...

    @rebelvibetribe3567 Před 7 lety +1

    Hi, Miles. Thanks for this detailed explanation.
    We're just getting started on the path of creating a membership site, and this video was extremely helpful. We're currently nearing the end of the 14-day free trial with CF. We gave it some serious thought, and realize that CF is likely not the solution for us because we'll be adding weekly content for our members. Taking a look at Thrive Themes now.
    We're considering using MemberPress with ConvertKit. Do you know much about how that combination would work with Thrive Themes?
    Also- what product did you purchase in Thrive Themes? Their annual membership looks like a great deal, but are all those components necessary? If so, do you recommend the "Thrive" or the "Agency" Membership if we eventually plan to use it on 2 sites?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  Před 7 lety +1

      MP + CK should work perfect with Thrive. I went with Thrive annual and yes, the 'thrive leads' and 'content builder' on top of the themes made it totally worth it for me. No need for agency if you own both sites... Agency is if you 'sell' services and use Thrive for others... I have thrive on several sites with the basic membership.
      If you haven't seen their fast start funnel creation series, check it out here: milesbeckler.com/wordpress-funnel Very 'clickfunnels' esque and shows you how to do the same stuff in Thrive.
      Should be very good foundation for long term growth!
