David Tennant stars in Doctor Who - Tenth Doctor, Classic Companions alongside John Leeson (as K9), Louise Jameson (as Leela), Sarah Sutton (as Nyssa), and Sophie Aldred (as Dorothy “Ace” McShane).
In a dark, mythical tale, the Doctor finds Leela preparing to battle kidnapping giants! Then, Nyssa meets K9 for the first time in a fantastical film studio and finally, a modern-day Ace investigates a worryingly advanced app...
The Tenth Doctor revisits his companions K9, Leela, Ace and Nyssa long after their time-travelling adventures have finished. Because they all need help, and when people need help, the Doctor will never refuse...
The three rollicking adventures in this box set are as follows:
Splinters by John Dorney
The Doctor finds K9 floating in space, and sets off to clear up Time War fallout. First, they find Leela protecting a village from the Spriggan.
The Stuntman by Lizzie Hopley
The Doctor and K9 enter a virtual world of a movie stuntman to help Nyssa escape a Time War criminal’s scheme.
Quantum of Axos by Roy Gill
Ace investigates a new tech company which seems too good to be true, and meets the Doctor and K9 as Axos escapes its trap.
David Tennant said: “It’s great fun to revisit eras of the Doctor’s past that I wasn’t involved in the first time around. As someone who grew up watching Doctor Who and then became involved in it himself, it’s very much an exercise in nostalgia. It’s a really exciting journey to go on - to be the Doctor with people who I watched on TV!”
John Leeson added: “One of the thrills for me is getting to work with David again! The last time was of the days with Sarah Jane Smith back in Doctor Who. A lot of that was done in post-production but the way this has been recorded is absolutely wonderful. We’re all in each other’s ears.”
Louise Jameson said: “I absolutely adore this script and I think that John Dorney writes incredibly well for Leela. What a delight to play with Mr Tennant’s Doctor - I am thrilled!”
Sarah Sutton added: “It’s not always a given that these companions are going to have chemistry with other Doctors but because the Tenth Doctor has a touch more empathy, it’s easier to connect with him. He really respects and admires Nyssa which really comes through in this script. He thinks she’s clever, wise, and principled.
“I’ve always been ever so slightly jealous of the companions who had a relationship with K9. It’s been lovely to have the scenes with John Leeson. It was really special and I’m really pleased to have that opportunity and now I can say I’ve worked with K9!”
Sophie Aldred said: “It’s fantastic to have the chance to see how Ace, K9, and the Tenth Doctor go together. The companion-Doctor relationship is so touching.”

For me, 10+Ace is basically unimprovable as a dream combo of the DW I loved as a kid and the DW I love as an adult.

I've been hoping for this since the 'Classic Doctors, New Monsters' series. I honestly can't imagine a better treat for my fanboy ears than these characters I've grown up loving finally getting to interact like this.
This one sounds so good! It's great hearing 10 interact with older companions, will definitely be getting this one!!
The New Who Series 4 Theme always sends a huge nostalgia rush straight into my brain. Definitely most excited about hearing Ten and Ace together.
A new series of K9!
In all fairness this is another top trailer, and as someone who has heard it, I can confirm a great box set to boot.
David Tennant as the Doctor here take my money, this amazing actor defines all of the Doctor's qualities
And remember, this Doctor also makes mistakes and can get really dark. This version of The Doctor is as human as possible.

Now The Tenth Doctor is returning alongside his companion Donna Noble for the 60th Anniversary
Technically he's the 14th doctor and technically he's not returning he's been here the whole time as 11 through 13.

@@adpirtle Still, if Unbound and Lost Stories came back, maybe Big Finish can eventually make something else happen for the fans who are looking for more performances based on their favorite older novels.

Bigfinish, forgive my asking, but... would there ever possibly be a chance for the Fourteenth Doctor to appear in your audios? As Tennant himself is doing such phenomenal work as Ten.
Big Finish being total chads by throwing this canonical spanner in the works before Power of the Doctor.
Except this can imply Ace is seeing 10 after that

How does the continuity work with this, the centenary and At Childhood's End?
Ace mentions she’s run into other Doctors, but this is the first time for Ten since at least the Time War. Not sure if Centenary and At Childhood’s End will contradict each other, but either way this is after Ace meets Thirteen.
It doesn’t
They allude to Ace having met a Doctor other than 10, but they leave it vague, so this could be after for Ace.
So I take it this is post-power of the doctor ACE? She acted like she hasn't seen the Doctor for decades in Power of the Doctor and she appears old in this trailer.

I don't understand why they don't make these canon.
They don't make them canon...because they don't really have to. They already are canon! But if you mean to ask why these stories aren't televised, it really comes down to the fact that TV crews can't really get away with what Big Finish can on audio, for practical reasons and because of story elements the BBC probably wouldn't allow them to explore.

Damn, 10's my least favourite Doc, but hearing his enthusiasm at meeting them, paired with their overwhelmed emotions when they recognise him, this trailer had me crying.
In all honesty I think of this as a lost opportunity, because if Russell T. Davies could bring Elisabeth Sladen back as sarah jane smith, then SURELY he could have done the same thing for leela (louise jameson), nyssa (sarah sutton), and ace (sophie aldred) back when he was still running the show the first time around
I thought Leela died in the Time War.

They are optional you know you don't have to buy them, if you just want to watch TV show and enjoy that then that's fine, if you just want to enjoy the many books that's fine as well. If just want to enjoy anything from the myriad of merchandise out there and call it a day that's fine as well. Everything is optional. Or you could find someone to go halfs with you on the cost they get the download and you get the CD.

@@Martyn2021 My friends and I all share one big account, we each chip in and get audios. Between the six of us, we've managed to get LOADS of audios over the years. It all just makes it much more affordable while we're still supporting BF! :D
