- South Africa is a beautiful country filled with vast landscapes, diverse cultures, abundant wildlife, and vibrant cities. We were lucky to spend over 2 months traveling from the west to the east. This time allowed us to see the highlights of the country as well as some lesser known destinations. In this video, we’ll share the ideal 3-week road trip itinerary for South Africa:
📍 DAY 1-3: CAPE TOWN

When you said "if you're lucky, you might see some hippos at night." My immediate thought was that doesn't sound lucky that sounds terrifying, buuuut they were a good distance away so not as nightmarish.

Yes absolutely! We met another girl who was traveling by herself for 2 months in South Africa. She rented a car as well

Is it currently safe to travel there with cameras and stuff?
Yes we traveled with our cameras and had no problems! 2 months in the country and nothing happened to us. Just be street smart and know which places to go and not go
What was the estimated costs of the whole trip?
You can probably get by with 100US$ per day (for 2 people). That includes accommodation, food, activities, and rental.
