Elias Ferguson Stars as Jerome in the 2023 Short Film by Gianfranco Fernandez Ruiz, Basketball Scene

Scene from Afro-Dominican-American filmmaker Gianfranco Fernandez Ruiz's 2023 short film Jerome, starring Art Roots Mambí actor-rapper-visual artist Elias Ferguson in the title role of Jerome. Elias earned a Best Actor nomination at BronzeLens Film Festival 2023 for his portrayal of Jerome.
The film was screened this past Saturday, June 8, 2024 at AFI (American Film Institute) where Gianfranco received his MFA in Directing.
Trivia: Elias is a great-grandson of Mambí José Rodríguez Figueroa. The Mambises were the mostly Black Cuban insurgent soldiers who fought in Cuba's wars of independence from Spain.
