  • Using dato blades in your table saw requires the use of a custom throat plate. In this video I am going to show you how to make a custom throat plate for your table saw. I will be using a piece of 3/16 luan because of it's rigid makeup. Luan is an inexpensive way to creat your custom throat plate. About 10.00 to build 3 throat plates for your table saw.

    Been living out of my original throat plate for my cabinet saw, when I bought my dado set this year. Set up 3 blades that would fit. Figured I would just do multiple passes if I wanted more dado. This tut is really good. Thank you.

    Watched. Enjoyed. Liked and subscribed. Great video. I do not have a dado throat plate for my old Craftsman table saw and Ebayer's want around $50+ for a scratched up used one. So, your video just saved the day and I can't wait to make my own dado insert's using your technique. Thank you, sir. Much obliged.

    why did you not cut the original board just past length needed, then you would have saved the end piece for other jobs,, just a thought
