Inspecting a Used Epiphone Les Paul 100

- Just picked up this guitar from a friend last week. I will lower the pickups and straighten the neck then it should be in good shape for a student to purchase if they decide they want it. Over-all I was impressed with the guitar. I do play a 1970 Black Gibson Les Paul Custom which is much heavier. I would not hesitate to bring this Epiphone out to a gig or a blues jam. It's pretty cool!

I got mine abt 2001, it’s made in
Korea. Has always been a great player and stays in tune with Grovers. Still in immaculate shape!
I'm impressed with Epiphone these days.
I managed to get mine for just £70. Brilliant guitar.
Yes! I was really happy to have this one visit. Totally open to Epiphone. Glad you found a really nice one Tomos. Keep rockin
I still have and love my lp-100. I bought it new in about 93-94, absolute workhorse and still sounds great to my ears.
Does that have P-90 pickups? That is a long career of rockin!
@@brookhoover1384 no it has humbuckers, tbh I'm not even sure what humbuckers they are it never really concerned me that much as they sound great to me. The headstock is a bit different it has Gibson printed on the truss rod cover and epiphone on the head, no Les Paul written on it. Its gained some stickers and a couple of little dings here or there over the years, from my younger days gigging with it. I know its not a pricy guitar by any stretch but I'm definately emotionally attached to it for life now. :)
Just picked up one of these for 90 bucks from a guy on offer up and i must say I'm impressed so far. The pickups might get replaced with some emgs but they really arent bad for stock pick ups. Decent affordable axe.
Ya these are cool! You could play in a bar and throw it on your car and not worry too much about it getting hurt or stolen. I seem to be less inhibited by a lower cost guitar.
@@brookhoover1384 Exactly what i got it for. I've had 2 amazing guitars stolen at shows so i started taking guitars that have affordable quality. Man,i remember when a drunk stagediver fell into me while i was playing my schecter banshee gt,both of us falling forward absolutely totalling my guitar. I still haven't recovered emotionally lol
Bought mine new in 94. Took off pick guard, 3 way switch surround, replaced ivory knobs with black. Most importantly changed stock pick-ups to Nickel covered Gibson 490 R and T. Love it still.
Ya these Epis get the job done. I used to record bands and people brought them in all the time and really kicked out the jams! Good job on the pickup switch out
I have this guitar since 2017 and the only adjustment I did was the pickup hight. For like 200 bucks you're getting a really good guitar. And most important, it had no dings.
Wow, good deal! You still playing it?
@@brookhoover1384 Yeah I used to play it almost daily and still do, but my newest guitar (fender american ultra strat.) changed things a little ;)
I love mine. Got the lefty starburst
Cool! Hope you are getting some playing time in Josh. What are you working on?
@@brookhoover1384 right now 70s rock.
Looking at some Fleetwood mack and hear riffs. Magic man is a nightmare but love the riffs
I just joined a band and wondering if this a good guitar for a person who can play about 5 cords and is ok at guitar
Epiphones are a little bit hit and miss for me, but the recent ones I've tested are impressive. If you can find a used one at a good price and the neck is not warped or twisted, I'd say you can't lose. What kind of music are you doing? If you want some pdf files of riffs and scales, email me at hooverguitar@yahoo.com so you can keep developing your skills. Rock out!
@@brookhoover1384 I'd love some things to practice!

You didn’t impart much information. No tools? Not prepared? Why do the video?
I'm a mess! Sorry!
