Metal music is for everyone, from the cradle to the grave, at least in Finland. The Finnish Mental Health Association just announced their theme for this year - Metal music. Because it is beneficial for your mental health. They chose Erkka Korhonen to be one of the spokespersons. He is the main man behind the Heavy XMas Tour in Finland.

Never heard these guys before. it, they sounded really good. Might have to go check out more from these guys. Crissy, from what I found online, bassist Sami Hinkka plays Warwick 5 and 6 string Corvettes now, previously using Ibanez Prestige.
Great band, not for everyone but I really like them. They do have some less serious songs in their repertoire and this is definitely one of them. One More Magic Potion is another light hearted one that's pretty cool! Or for something really different they have a cover of Raw Hide!

Their year 2001 debut album was notable. Jari Mäenpää was still in the band before he founded Wintersun in 2004. Song "Little Dreamer (Väinämöinen Part II)" from that album has bit of everything epic Folk Metal greatness on it.
Ensiferum means "sword bearing" in Latin. I really enjoy this band, but I agree with @christophersims this is not their best song or one I would use as an intro to the band. In addition to his suggestions I would try "Wanderer." The band was formed in 1995 and describe themselves a melodic folk metal, but they really run from death metal to power metal to Viking metal. @@metalzonereactions Speaking of nautical, I blundered on a live video of a group called "Visions of Atlantis", they are evidently a pirate themed symphonic metal band. Song was "Pirates Will Return" and it was a lot of fun. Filmed at Wacken but released by Napalm records so it probably won't be blocked. You find the oddest things at 3 AM when you cannot sleep. Oh, and they also had live strings on stage.
@@alancarter41 I have not heard that one yet but will check it out. I did a reaction to their song Clocks and 2nd Hand Souls did too, very cool band! Their other songs off the recent album like Melancholy Angel and Legions of the Sea are great and have very cool videos for them too!
Nice to see Ensiferum in your vid. Listen one other finnish band called Norther and their song mirrow of madness and/or many others, singer of Ensiferum Petri and Jukka from Nightwish and Wintersun playing their best stuff ever.

They definitely run the gamut! Lot of variety. This track is off their most recent album that is a nautical theme which is a lot of fun.
