Alyssa you are so very blessed to still be able to visit the place where you have so many wonderful childhood memories. My happy place was was my grandparents camp in Maine where I spent every summer until I was 17. When my Grampy passed my Grammy sold the camp and while I was newly married (at age 18) I couldn’t come up with the money to but it. Alas my own children weren’t able to make those kind of memories. I’m so happy for you that your own little quartet will be able to have the same lovely memories with Jane and papa Bill ❤. Sending hugs to you all. ❤❤
The best advice I was ever given is to live where you are most content. Moving to places where various family/friends live may end up for you living alone! Those people you moved to be near; may move away! Erin & family will be in FL soon. So, you’ll have your side of family nearby soon!

Alyssa my husband and I were always the opposite. I would get all 4 kids ready and myself and we would be waiting on him. Our kids are now grown we have 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and I still wait on him. I tell him he'll be late for his funeral lol 😆 God bless him though as he is an amazing husband and father a good man all around so blessed ❤️
Our elders will not always be with us on this earth so it’s great to make this special memories now to carry with you and strive to make your home welcoming for your kids a later your grandkids as well. We have a simple home but it’s full of love. So much so my grown kids live within two blocks of us😉
I loved your last two videos and it made me tear up remembering my own childhood with visiting my grandparents! My husband’s family has a place in South Tennessee. His parents are living on the farm but his granny has passed away. The farm is my piece of heaven so I can relate. Maybe Jane and Papa will let you have an RV on the property so that you guys can have a place to stay when you come over to visit. I’m sure your other family members would also use it and help take care of it. 😀

One of my Granddaughters had her own langue when she was little like Maci she was so funny. She still is a chatter chatter box and she just turned 14. I have the sweetest childhood memories going to my Papaw & Mamaw’s farm every Sunday. We’d have a big ‘O lunch with them, all the Aunts, Uncles & cousins then we kids would run around outside barefoot in their big yard playing. I loved the porch swing, I’d fall asleep on it all the time🥰

But of course I didn't now anything about them at that time. I hadn't known anything about the Bates family. Glad you got to see your grandparents for a few day's.

Nothing like grandparents I was very close to mine and spent many hours with them growing up and mine boys were very close to theirs and enjoyed being with them. They lives lessons and wisdom we got from them was amazing. I now enjoy mine here is NC close to SC but times have changed and definitely not like my boys or me spent with them. Sad how much we looked for to going and staying with our grandparents now I do all the going. But at least we are close and when I go they keep me hopping I need more of me. You live where you want and enjoy where you are live is to short to miss out on things and people you enjoy.

i think Allie would do awesome in school so that she could have some sort of diverse social interaction with friends other than family. Even though she does that group for home schoolers i think she would thrive in traditional structured school with other teachers and peers? She seems lonely to me and longing for something ? Anyway, just a thought …. she is so sweet and precious and i bet she would thrive into her own unique person with some freedom ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Agreed! We make so many day trips to Charleston since it’s only 3 hours away. And we’re right at an hour from the mountains. Perfect location.
