- The 2018 Haibike XDURO AllMtn 8.0 is a full suspension all-mountain electric bike with 150 mm Fox air suspension, sturdy thru-axles, powerful Magura MT5 hydraulic disc brakes, and tubeless-ready plus sized tires from Schwalbe. Available in four frame sizes, iconic angular hydroformed tubing and sporty paint job, three trim levels (6.0, 8.0, 10.0) allow you to dial in price or performance, global dealer network. Yamaha PW-X motor offers high torque output, support for faster pedaling, and is compatible with multiple chainrings (this is a 2x system), it's lighter and more compact than the competition. High-capacity 500 watt hour battery that fits in from the side for lower top tube, bulky charger has a seemingly fragile plug design that's in the path of the left crank arm, walk mode seems to be disabled, display has Micro-USB port built-in but isn't as large or easy to read as some others, lots of menu options.

Court, thanks for the great review. Keep it up, you are the best! I almost bought this bike, but the lack of a walk mode for those steep mnt areas is a deal breaker.
I used to live in Fullerton and did the Fullerton Loop every week or two. Great review!
Superb video guys thanks for making it. You 3 guys will have to get out on the new Flyon Haibikes when they are released and see if you can conquer that 45 degree hill with that system. That'll make a great video!
Great review, great to hear the other perspectives as well. Very interesting. I have a haibike sduro myself, it's incredible, it wows me everytime I ride it.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the input from Matt and Steve, they were fun to ride with. Which model Haibike did you get? I used to own one a few years back and gave it to my Uncle for commuting, he loves it! czcams.com/video/RuSKCSFuxdY/video.html
Yes seen that video, its good.
I have an all mountain RC, it has some great components fitted to it and a few good upgrades also. Its one of the ones with 2 front chain rings as well, I just find this so versatile, I use it for road use quite a bit also and have a second set of tyres I use for this, specialised nimbus. These are quite wide as well at 2.3 but its such a joy to ride on the road with them and the extra gearing really comes in handy for this. Sometimes I'll go on a long road ride and combine it with off-road, the tyres perform well, I have had around 40 miles out of it on standard mode with this combination with just a 400 watt battery, I sure perhaps the smoother tyres add some of the efficiently there, (and a lot less noise). However I use knobblies also if its just a pure offroad adventure, I even tried it next to a more expensive newer specialised turbo levo fattie e-bike, but the hai is equally as good all round, and the way mine was set up far better for how I like it.
The helmet cam perspective is excellent. You were able to ride more aggressively versus the sedate riding you are forced into when holding action camera in your hand! I like it! The helmet camera also gives more insights as to what the rider actually viewing. More test rides likes this! Please!
Yeah, I was actually having to slow down to not overtake Matt... it was my first time at this spot so probably better safe than sorry (especially with the unexpected bridge). The helmet cam is fun but takes a lot more time and often gives me a headache because it's heavy. I'll keep working it in here and there. Thanks for the feedback Kevin!
Hiya, how do you attach the camera mount to the chin bar?
You are the most sincere mtb reviewer and I salute you for that 👍
Thanks! I try to keep it real, acknowledge my gaps in knowledge, and appreciate feedback and support. You made my day Darren :D
That looked like a lot of fun 😁
Really teched out bikes
Someday I’ll afford a mid drive bike
Be looking forward to the first review of Haibike FLYON just announced at Eurobike. Headline is 120 NM torque motor and a really cool cockpit. Bosch gone. BTW, can find Haibike models around for large discounts, particularly around model change out timing. I got a great deal at Motostrano.
Sweet! Thanks for the tips on deals, John. I like Motostrano, been friends with Joe for a while and they have a huge selection of models :D
Joe took good care of me. Got my bike shipped to Hawaii, not easy now because of battery shipment restrictions.
Court-Really nice bikes indeed. I always ask the same question concerning 'walk mode enabled' for about 3 years now in the US. Was at a Trek dealer recently and I inquired, and they honestly did not know the answer to that question. I was doing test rides and I forgot to check that feature on the Trek models. My bad. A little pricey, but very cool looking bikes indeed. Cheers!
2019 Haibike will have their own engineered integrated motors......expect to see many wild improvements !
Cool, like their own brand of motors or some other company like Bosch/Yamaha?
Actually, their own design manufactured by TQ and in a proprietary way. To my understanding only for use on Haibike.....very cool stuff coming !
Still prefer Yamaha motor for best reliability and great performance.
I'm sure the technology is advancing in leaps and bounds!
Happy to see another Haibike review! What is Yamaha's excuse for that non-removable display? bosch's Intuvia has been around for years and you can remove and charge off it. And it's easier to see. Yamaha is a mature engine building company - they should be able to come up with something much better. Given the pricing of ebikes, manufacturers should have anti-theft features as standard equipment.
I still have mine, got close to 2000 miles and still on original battery and tires.
Nice trip!
Awesome bike!
Totally agree, this is one of my favorite all mountain models for 2018 :)
I do love these Haibikes superb quality excellent engineering but cost wise and value for money makes me still think the 2018 BMW might be a better option, good offers at the moment in the UK, I think the electrics have an edge although I love the look of both if money wasn't the issue the Haibike could be my choice but I'm trying to be practicle and I think I'm going for the BMW. Thanks for a great review.
What would you prefer, this Haibike or the Bulls e-stream evo AM 4 you presented in another video?
Very cool and stylish, how much do the components add to its total weight?
This review was fun, the ebike sellers need to make sure there listening.
Thanks for the support, Mark! I do my best to share constructive and meaningful feedback to viewers and the company :)
What is better? XDURO ALLMNT 8.0 OR XDURO NDRUO 8.0? BOSH CX PERFOMANCE VS YAMAHA PW-X , and what is max watt after chip tuning this two motor ?
Finally the review I’ve been wanting to see this one ☝️reviewed by u Court, Yamaha needs to enable walk mode definitely
Agree on the walk mode... thanks for your patience, I've been extremely busy with engineering projects for the website and hiring and training some support for the community and stuff. Feeling thankful, but a little behind schedule ;)
ElectricBikeReview.com u see the Haibike FlyOn at Eurobike Court, some major things happening, love your channel keep up the good work, I would of tried a few times to get up that hill, maybe it’s a lot steeper in person
Good tyre choice, Maxxis Minion are great.
10:33 it won't do much as a chain guide, only a proper chain guide will do tha, even with clutch it would still be a risk of it dropping, it depends on the gear, chainring size, and how steep and rough you go down.
Thanks for the feedback, Johannes
and of course the speed the bike is rolling down will also make a difference, and if it got suspension in the rear or not.
When you climb a stip slope, just stand on the pedals and move your body to the front of the bike, so you will transfer your weight on the front, and the front wheel will not that easily loose control ;)
I wish there were options for lower priced haibikes to opt for a 500w battery and not get stuck with a 400w and for high priced haibikes to opt for a bigger display be they yamaha or bosch.
Hmm, that would be cool... like modular sections the way you can outfit computers with more ram or hard drive for extra money vs. cost savings? Maybe we'll see that someday :)
Dumb question: Without an inner tube, how is air added to (and retained by) tubeless tires? Is the rim itself completely sealed as well? I can't picture how the air valve stem is arranged!
Great info, but would like to see a more condensed and structured review delivery.
Thanks for the feedback Richard!
hey, how did you make your go pro mount on your helmet?
Could anyone with walk assist enabled bike try if this function works on stairs (going up) and let me know. Thanks.
The hill attempt would have been more informative if you had measured and disclosed the percent slope or degrees. Thanks again for your helpful reviews.
I think the older gentleman said he estimated it to be 45 degrees
I bought an inclinometer recently to help with this sort of thing, thanks for the feedback!
With all due respect, that is not a 45 degree slope. I frequently ride 30 -35% slopes (~17-20 degrees) and I doubt very much that hill approaches that angle. But this is why a measurement would be very helpful, and so easy.
I need an electric bike so bad. I recently just lost my license it's not my fault it's a Clerk's error and going to take some time and a court to clear up. I really need an electric bike to get around until that happens. Is there a more inexpensive bike that I could get that its not thousands of dollars that you would recommend? I would love to get one of these really nice ones but it's just so far out of my price range. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

I agree with Paula, that ebay link is probably the best price you'll find on a Haibike and I'm guessing that it is being sold by Crazy Lenny's or similar crazylennysebikes.com/products/haibike-sduro-cross-4-0-2018
random.bike.parts
I will buy the bike also have it for 3900 euros on the Internet. Come from the Haibike homeland Germany
I bypass the 20 MPH because "I AM TRAFFIC" I don't share the road in Queens NY
cars seem to slow me down
How do you bypass it?
@@TheAlexdx7 You stick a strong magnet to the back of the crank arm , and relocate the sensor to read it .
You won't have accurate milage and trips
but , so worth it , or there is a chip you can buy . both have videos on youtube
When did it start getting called a “chain ring” ???? I rode BMX for 6 yrs. 89’-95’... and the “chain ring” was always called SPROCKET.... even now.. I ride downhill, I refer to it as sprocket.
Idk why, but “chain ring” just sounds so newbie... it’s like they did know what it was so they just spoke literally , ring with a chain around it, lol... guess you could call it a “spiky pedal, chain circle” too!!🤣🤣🤣
Does it really matter in the cold light of day? I call them chainrings, Lots of people do including professionals... Yes they are sprockets and you can call them that if it makes you feel better but does this sort of thing keep you awake at night? Jeez dude you need to take up yoga! ahaha
such wussies. I'd run this route without stopping, back in the days, using just the plain MTB. No motors, no BS, whatsoever... Just me, my legs, and my pedals..
These bike are old news and will be discounted highly soon after this years euro bike.
Sort of... I shot this way back in April but have been extremely behind due to engineering upgrades, hiring, and personal physical limitations. Hope you enjoyed it anyway :)
A PEUGEOT bicycle in France costs 2000 euros and in the US the price is 4000 ....))))) and are made in POLAND ...)))
Wonderful bike, how can we contact you to do some business cooperation?
he's said in oast bideos he can be contacted via email that i believe is on his site electricbikereview.com
She writes on it "SWISS" and is made in Poland))))) as well as on bicycles in France .... write "France" and are made in Poland ..))))
Haibike have copied the design of their latest bikes from the brand I ride which is Moustache. I ride the Moustache Semadi Race 9 😜
I love Moustache, have reviewed a few models here: electricbikereview.com/brand/moustache/
wtf....5000 dolars?!! is like when IPHONE lunch first phone...In 3 years this bike go to 700...!!! Is all full of gold??!!!
The 20 mph top speed is always a deal breaker..
yeah never spending 5k unless it goes at least 35
in europe we're stuck with 15.5 mph via the current law.
Just derestrict it! I've two Yamaha ebikes ones a hardtail hiabike the other is lapeiare AM and both are derestricted by myself! Goes as fast as I can peddle without the dull point at 15.5 mph! No problems with motor or batteries but the speedo reads under half of what you really are doing! Google diy ebike derestricted!
Tim Standaert it could be like Europe, 20 mph is all u really need on the trails here in north Georgia, I got two Haibikes I love them
They limit to 20 mph for legal reasons, so it can go on more trails in the USA as Class 1. As me him mentions here, there are ways to de-restrict motors fo ruse on OHV trials and private property if you want to, but it will void the warranty. Here's a full suspension Class 3 that comes with 28 mph by default if you want to keep the warranty: electricbikereview.com/bulls/e-stream-evo-45-fs/
I have carbon edition which goes 100km/h unlocked with chip :v
Herblore Pl does it have 3000 watts? Cause that motor and battery isn’t going to get to that speed
@@yogajitsu6757 yes it is going that speed try buying it yourself buy speedbox 2 install it and change the gears to go faster
Lmao you aren't going to get 100km out of a 500 watt motor.
In Europe with 5,000 I can buy a BMW ..... wtf ?? !!! That's a thief is not a business ... How the hell do you give 5 thousand on a bicycle ...)))))))
I AGREE
200'000 km, 6 years old, Im impressed
That gear is too LOW to make it up that hill.
You dont need a full sus bike for that sort of riding, a hard tail would have been better and cheaper
Hi
Howdy! Are you having a good weekend so far?
ElectricBikeReview.com yep
