Yes we need a video on Faramir. Perhaps even comparing book and movie version, so that folks who've not yet read the books can better understand how great Faramir is in the "true" Tolkien Lore? I mean, he was portrayed well in the movies imo, but the changes are rather significant.
Also, answering your question: not too long ago I would've chosen the Knights of Dol Amroth. They still fascinate and inspire me, even though they're hardly elaborated on.
But in the last few years I've rather grown to prefer ranger-style archetypes, they're just so versatile and adaptable, and usually also very lore-wise - apart from limited magic skills, they can do everything (and rather well), except perhaps be a welcome part of society :D
Exactly this! I completely agree with all of this, except - I was more for the Dunedain than for the Knights of Dol Amroth, but the Ithilien Rangers are fantastic. The Ranger life has always fascinated me. And yes, we need more on Faramir. He's such an amazing character.
If I were a soldier of Gondor, and I had a choice of where to be stationed, I would choose any station whatsoever other than manning the beacons of Gondor.

Do the Faramir video: he is one of my favorite characters as well. I would choose to join the Knights of Dol Amroth.
If I had to pick, I'd like to be a knight of Dol Amroth. I'd love to see some of the stuff they've got squirreled away downstairs, since that ancient family escaped from Númenor so long ago.
Ithilien Rangers for me - main reason why i liked Gondor more than Rohan. Fighting in the most dangerous area, close to Mordor, ambushing Sauron forces...and Faramir was their leader!
Faramir episode would be great! As wonderful as the movies were they diverged from his true badassness a bit
I have always been intrigued by Prince Imrahil and the army of men he brought with him to Minas Tirith. I think I would like to fight along side him.

I currently play LOTRO on Landroval (Alegrius); my character is themed around a ranger/warrior type. He's been a ranger since he gained the trust of Calinglad in Annuminas, where he has the title 'Warden of Annuminas'. Currently, he's a member of the Grey Company as well & I'm in western Rohan... Need to do a few quests before Helms Deep. There's a backstory to this but the goal is to have him become a mix of a Ranger/knight of Gondor. After watching this, I think I'll have him be a part of the White Company once I complete the battle of Minas Tirith.
How many here are familiar with the band "Summoning", a Tolkien themed metal band? They're not just a novel one-off either but each album is an epic masterpiece. They even have one track that's sung in the black speech.

Yes for Faramir, but no for an actor who portrayed him. If I were a soldier of Gondor I would probably deserted unless somebody yells "no matter what comes out of that gate ..." to me ;) I could also be a cook or someone involved in logistics.
I too find the Dunedain and Ithilien Rangers to be the most interesting factions in the Lord of the Rings Story.

I love the rangers, they do Gondor proud. However, If i were to fight for Gondor I would be a splendidly armored Knight of the Minas-Tirith.

I'd definitely choose the Ithilien Rangers. I'm always happiest in the backcountry and would not want to be stuck in a city no matter how beautiful it was or how cool the armor looked!
Also, yes, we need a video on Faramir. He was one of the greatest of the Men of Gondor, and his character was short-changed in the movies and shown to be weaker & less intelligent than in the books.
You should do one on Deagol and Smeagol and the different affects the ring has on people and why it affects some faster than others

One of my favorite characters in all of legendarium! Jake another great video, trully cool and badass warriors!! A knight's of Dol Amroth are really cool and you should do a video about their commander, but I preffer the forrest's and Ithilien rangers more!

Honestly if I was from Gondor I'd want to he a Ranger. Keep me country men safe from the shadows. I also just love nature so learning how to track, which plants to use for a situation, and that sort of thing is really appealing to me.
A topic that I had in mind for some time. Do you think there would be a possibility that "Evil men", otherwise those who were corrupted in the past by Morgoth, Sauron etc., could turn to good? Maybe it could do something with the Blue Wizards who ventured east. Would love to see an episode about that, if it is a topic worthy of discussion or hasn't been here of course.

Video about Faramir? Of course, what kind of question is that
Ithilien Ranger. If you are a knight, your life expectancy is quite low. You could be SHOT by arrows on the battlefield, ran over, stabbed, or outright smashed to bits by some troll. I.e. A knight in the Middle Earth is a very easy target and although you have a thick armour, eventually something's gonna kill you if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Better stay in the shadows and hunt the enemy through ambush, than be on the battlefield with thousands of people against thousands if enemies. You will likely survive longer AND be more effective against your enemies.
I'm gonna make a not-so-good analogy - If you have to choose between being a soldier in WW2 vs being a sniper, which would be your choice? If you choose a soldier, you will be sent to run against machine gunners. Your chance of survival is the lowest it can be, just as much as being a knight on a horse riding against a wall of pikes and spears and having arrows rain down on you.

Definitely a ranger. Faramir and Denethor were badly misrepresented in the movies. Faramir was wise enough to let Frodo go, sending the temptation of the ring away. Denethor was presented as self centred and unpleasant where he should have been noble but misled by the palantir.
Boromir did take back Osgiliath prior to Faramir meeting Frodo
