- So Nintendo decided to drop a new (potentially final? Hopefully not) update for Super Mario Maker 2. Here are my (very quick) thoughts on them. It's content.

On the other: Levels that use the Koopalings as creative boss fights in ways more unique than the average Boom-Boom Boi

Hold up you need to pay to go online? I can kind of still understand for games like MK8D or whatever but if you quite literally have to pay $20 (a year) on top of SMM2, that's quite stupid. Should be one of the games that shouldn't require paid online whatever

I’ve watched like 5 reaction videos to the update so far and you have been the only one who said what I did at the Koopalings part.
This is going to end up in every hot garbage enemy spam level within 30 minutes of launch.
What I really wanted was the Mini Mushroom. But this is equally as good.

@@lyzder7298 They literally steal ideas from romhacks, for one, and, second, everything of theirs is profit first, ditch the customer. BTW SMM2 is lacking so much.

@@Jake04531 But at least they should give credit where credit is due, something they don't do. And, also, the basic thing missing from SMM2 is the ability to inspect others' levels, which they removed on purpose!
Koopalings seem to have very different actions which could lead to interesting boss fights or puzzles depending on how they work.

The problem is once you've fought against a boss one time, it losses all the meaning, you already know how to defeat them, it becomes just a grind, they still have uses, but the major one is kids spamming them in their courses, seems like a lot of fun

@@Leggolem_ I don't know man, right now the only useful bosses for interesting boss fights are bowser and BJR, the new ones are probably going to be standalone bosses, just like boom boom and the other one no one uses

@@geli95us This is only true if you're fighting the bosses in a flat, empty box. Different arenas can completely change the fight, though. I've seen plenty of creative boss fights with Bowser and Jr. as it is.

I dunno why he was being so negative. I think the new bosses are super cool, I'm tired of fighting Boom Boom all the time (even though he's right that this will be abused, didn't even think about that, but it's not worse than 10 Bowsers spammed).

it's sad and impressive how Nintendo is like 5 years behind the completion when it comes to updates, listening to the community and online play but their games are so good that we buy them anyways.
It is called other companies cut content from their games to add it later on. Meanwhile Nintendo creates new content after releasing their games. That is why updates for a lot of other games are so much faster.

I love this new update. It’s everything I ever wanted in Mario Maker (besides Odyssey theme). I was so hyped up! It’s tomorrow too!!!!

Heh, I can legit see the wheels turning in Pangaea's head thinking of ways to use all these new additions in his levels as he sees them (well, except maybe the Koopalings).
What I like about this video compared to the other reaction videos is that it doesn't involve constant screaming.
This is the traditional level update.
On/Off Blocks in 3D world is the most hype thing in this trailer and Nintendo just doesn't even mention it. I can only assume that's because they'd need to admit they were wrong to exclude them from the game style in the first place.
If the Koopalings are somewhat consistent, you could make Kaizo levels using their movesets, like flying Boom Boom or BJR.
Also yo the SMB2 mushroom is possibly gonna be the ultimate toxic multiplayer power-up, can pick up basically any enemy and not just koopas
I remember watching this a few nights ago as soon as it came out at 3am I was so happy

I do like the idea of the koopalings as then between your worlds you can have bosses that vary so that your 'game' is always fun and unique. Just my opinion.

I was hoping to see the ice flower power up. As far as enemies, I was hoping to see fire bros, boomerang bros, and ice bros. Other than that, I'm satisfied with what the 3rd update is. I would like more level themes, though.

GUYS. Unless I'm just dumb, this ISN'T the last update. They said the last one is coming SOON but this one is tomorrow and I guess that those are two different things. Plus, they still haven't added the other extra game style, just more mini styles.

Oh god I have a lot of glitch levels uploaded that will be taken down. 7 were taken down in patch 2.0.0 and I don't want to lose potentially 5 more.

I don't think 64 will happen.
If there is one game style added it will probably be odyssey. And if it's not odyssey it's be sunshine and maybe galaxy.
I don't think 64 has enough interesting gimmicks.
@@nyx3659 64 provides the perfect style transition between SMW and SMBU. There's so many features they could add with 64 like the Womp, Amp, Swooper, eel... the Metal or Wing Mario, and his own set of moves; even the music. Think of the different stages possible
