      Do you have to do anything for the radio to work in the vehicle? Meaning is the oem radio specific to the vehicle requiring a code or software update?

      @@leonardodgodoy4294 Yes, and it's linked in the description of the radio install video. Two version of that video depending on the year of your vehicle. See the description of this video for those links.

    I must have viewed this video 15 times. Took notes. Changed the notes. I think the new descriptive words like “trigger” wire threw me. Then a red wire changing to a white wire.
    So I decided to just have faith and connect the wires exactly as per the video. To my surprise it worked perfectly.
    So a huge thank you to the author. My camera works in both reverse and auxiliary. 👍🏼

    you really don't need to drill any holes in your car because you could have routed the camera wires to go through the same holes as the hitch wires. In fact, the hitch connector already has a reverse, power and ground signals all available to you right there. You really didn't need to splice it from anywhere else.

    • @JesseTheG_
      @JesseTheG_ Před rokem +8

      For anyone wondering about the hitch wiring:
      White = ground
      Black = 12v switched
      Light Green = reverse light signal

  • @iC4e
    @iC4e Před 2 lety

    If i use Metra LC-GMRC-01 Wiring Interface, I will add a back camera that only works when going back،
    Do you need to connect the Interface with a wire to the fuse box، Or is the interface power enough to make the radio and reverse camera.
    Also in your explanation, you connected a red wire to the camera at the back of the radio. Does this wire get power from the radio or what?
    Sorry if there are mistakes in the words because I do not speak English and I try as much as possible to understand the video

      Black plug black wire to reverse light black. Red Wire connected to his white to run to the radio accessory.
      Yellow Video - Black wire went to the radio. Red wire went to Reverse light green.
      That's how I see it. I watched this guy's video at least 10 times. A bit confusing.

    I know how to do this kinda stuff, but what throws me off is, that I bought a harness that’s for the on star and for the door chimes and the SWC the harness has a reverse wire what can I do with that?

    • @junkname9983
      @junkname9983 Před rokem

      wire the reverse from the car to the head unit and the head unit would switch over to the camera when you put the car in reverse. The camera would also get a reverse wire going to it to use as a switch to turn the camera on. In other words, the reverse signal has to go to both the head unit and the camera for it all to work.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Před rokem +1

      You will either need to wire your camera to the reverse lights only (instead of accessory) or you need a different camera without LEDs

      @@ProvoBeastAudio Thank You.
      What’s interesting is that I have the same vehicle and radio you show in the video. So I either did not connect the wires right or I will do what you suggested. Remove the accessory wire.
