Note: dash cam mirror acts like a mirror when you press display off button and still records.

Power module: this is optional if you decide not to use cigarette light port for power then use power fuse kit and connect to fuse box under the dashboard. Power module has leds for 12v.

When i turn off the ignition key, the camera immediately goes off too. Looks like there is no battery in it so at least to do a safe shutdown or to register the last clip. Does anyone else has that issue?

Bought and installed mine around the time you made this video. Only rewatching to install the backup camera
I have one now in my car for 8 months and I truly missed it when I was driving a new car rental. The extra wide angle comes in version handy if you have change lanes rapidly. The night visibility is amazing. The bad part is you have to apply a hydrophobic sprayed on the rear camera lens because water does accumulate and make the image hard to see through the surface rain drops sometimes.
I wish I could get this but I have a truck. It can still work if I just put it in the cabin facing the back but I guess it wouldn't be worth it all that hassle. Better just to get tow mirrors.
@juaquiqui-kun4333 get the extra wire kit and it will fit in a truck. Putting mine in a ram 5500 tool truck
As I've only made 1 pymt on my 2017 Ford C-Max Energi, I haven't quite gotten to the rear camera installation.....kinda dreading drilling into the frame of my hybrid. So far, the only issue I have had with the Wolf Box while only using front mounted on mirror is that I had it unplugged & off my mirror for a week due to in town only driving while doing DoorDash (most of town is 25mph zone) After a week unplugged & off, I had to reset the time & date. Not even a starter issue in my book. I love having it. A nephew saw it in use yesterday & thought it's pretty awesome, as having it show the camera view, he was able to see what I was seeing while driving, as he was sitting behind me in my car.
I'm totally going to install one of these in the future. So cool!

I was very impressed with this camera system so I ordered it for my 2010 Nissan Rogue. I plan on connecting it to my back up wiring. But I have yet to find a video on how it behaves when actually backing up. Is there a setting where the back up image automatically comes on when put in reverse?

You didn't mention what MODEL of Wolfbox 4k dash & backup camera this was? G930, G900, G840?? That would have been helpful as most of the Wolfbox cameras are 4k.
Very cool, i do door dash about 50 hrs a week, im getting one now, the backup cam in my prius is horrid.

Never install the camera outside of the vehicle. Always mount it inside the rear window to ensure clearest visibility and also to keep it dry.
Inside window is fine as long as you can rig it so that no light enters around the camera, otherwise you will get a reflection from the glass in the mirror.
@@seoul4183rear dashcam yes it should be behind the glass, but a reverse camera needs to be outside like you said in order to work effectively

@@zivyh939 from my experience it’s dark during the day, and at night you can’t even read the license plate. And this is through a clean window. But factory tinted glass is mostly okay (again night time is an issue). Camera quality, night vision, resolution, etc. are all factors.
No way! Rear back up camera should be outside for effective cleareat views
In this application 50/60 Hz is referring to the electrical cycle in a specific country. USA and Canada are 60hz, much of the world is 50hz. It’s not frames per second (frame rate) but rather it aligns your camera with the ‘frequency’ of electronic equipment/lighting so your camera doesn’t exhibit flicker or banding in the image from lights.

In a car its 12volt dc voltage so there is no 60hz or 50hz so it might be the frame rate

Is it possible to save the angle of the camera in reversing mode only? I.e. the camera is pointed upwards during normal driving and when you go in reverse in points down?

Does the camera extension cord plug in and extend the one that comes with it. Or does it go the length that the extension cord itself is??
i hope the company build the front camera little longer so we can turn all the way to all angle the reason is that short people sit closer and not be able to see the camera better. but if we can adjust the screen face to us and the camera is still point straight then we are good. beside if the can build something to eliminate the brightness during nighttime with the headlight from the back and sunlight during the day then this camera is the world best dashcam ever. i love it just those issues

Love the video never use wire nuts on a car there for house wiring
Half of my truck's harness is held together by wire nuts. You have to replace them once in a while, but I haven't had any other issues!
It's a helluva lot cheaper than paying someone else to rewire my pickup! :3

Ive seen different mounting orientations for the gps unit, does it matter if you place it on the window vs on the dash so the "up" is facing the sky?

I have an older model no-name brand. My biggest gripe is the daytime glare. It is like a mirror and there is a lot of reflection and the sun really washes out the camera so basically I can’t see anything. I used the anti-glare screen, but it really reduces the resolution and clarity. I built “blinders” around the sides of the mirror which helps but doesn’t look great. How is the daytime glare on this Wolfbox?
If you have it on as a rear view mirror, is itt still recording infront of you incase of accident?
Can you adjust the camera itself in the back of the rear view mirro?

I just installed the GH40S for a youtube review as well and when the control menu comes up the "Play" and "Settings" icons are not highlighted so you cant press them. Have you ever had this issue?

How is the video while the car is in motion? I work for a Cadillac dealership and Cadillac's have had something similar (video rearview mirrors) for several years but I can't use them. Something about the video when I look in the mirror almost makes me sick to my stomach particularly if looking at the mirror while going around a corner. Side to side motion is very strange.

I just got it installed, but I don't have the rear camera installed yet. I keep it turned off to use as a regular mirror, until it's installed. But it keeps turning off and on, even while unplugged. Is there anyway to stop it? It's really distracting

My last Dashcam was Acumen XR 10 but with time age caught up on it and I started finding issues😢.Now I have recently brought a Wolf box and I am impressed give me a week or so to give you my final verdict

Part 2.. so it’s been a few days having this new dash cam and it’s a definite upgrade from the Acumen XR 10
My very first drive with the Dashcam was rare
Why..because that morning being true British weather 😂it’s was raining heavy . Now I’m no formula 1 driver but wow my vision was great the clarity is 👍 the next days ahead we’re great meaning weather wise.
The night time vision is 💯%
I like driving along peaceful roads at night but gotta admit I like the dash cam
One thing one morning whilst driving to work I had to put my sun visor down.What you will notice is the wolf box Dashcam is wider
This is something you will have to get use to so prepare yourself when those sunny moments return 🌞for now it’s ticking the right boxes. But I love the vision it gives..

Is it true it records both front and back? And how do you view the recorded video?
@@bigkelvtv3678 front, back and interior if you get the 3 channel unit. You view by taking the SC card out and putting in your computer. It’s a great dash cam setup
Now if you get into accident and you're looking at the footage can you zoom in to someone's license plates to make the numbers out daytime and night
The footage is stored in the SD card. Once you insert that SD card in your computer or mobile you can zoom in and do basically anything as you can with a normal video.

Rule #1 plug in the system and test before running cables, mm G850 fresh out the box was DOA.

I've had several of these mirror cams and love them. My last one is having issues after three years so I am considering this brand. Does the camera record 4k or some lower resolution when both cameras are recording? And how well does the GPS antenna work? I've been told they need to be installed on the exterior.
GPS works well and can be installed anywhere on windshield.
Camera records 4K in the front and 1080P in the back - stock setting.

I may have missed in the video but when feeding the wires behind the airbag in the a-pillar, do you need to unplug the battery? Is there a chance of setting off the airbag if you don't unplug it?
As well, what if you already have a backup camera installed in the car? Can the connections be similar? or does everything need to be re-wired? Thanks!
Airbags are turned on only by g sensors outside cabin , unless u are going at it with a hammer , I would say no worries
Airbags are overall stable. Only time they are a danger is when you add a power source to them. Shorting them out can absolutely cause them to inflate. We don’t disengage the battery when we work around them as long as we don’t have to touch the power connections for them directly. 🙂
Anytime you have concerns about airbags going off while doing work on any vehicle, just locate and pull the fuse out and replace after the work is completed, that will leave you confident that the airbags will not deploy.

I just bought one of these . I am a little concerned about fixing the rear camera to the outside . I have a landrover discovery and it has a large rear tailgate. Was thinking with all the opening and closing , that the camera would get damaged . Is the camera built that well to allow for this

If you can't find a video then Sometimes recordings may be located in Event folder 📂.
Can you change to color of the text on the mirror to match your own cars dash colors?

It looks like it can. I drove an old mustang with one of these.
How long is the reverse red wire from where it splits from the other black wire?
Look like a basic red wire so you could butt-connect a longer wire if needed.
