You sound like a calm version of Scotty Kilmer omg!
LOL! Gotta stay calm!
Until I looked I thought it was Scotty Kilmer
You rite he do
Best bang for your buck.... The Klein CL700. $98 bucks. Does everything you need it to do and probably more. I love that you can test HZ, capacitance and diodes on top of your regular household electrical needs.
Just got my Klein multi meter and after watching this video, I’m liking and subscribing because you go into detail and make it helpful . Thanks. Keep doing what your doing
Thanks!
Bill I’ve been a Electrician for 20 years now and I really enjoy your videos and show a lot of your videos to many apprentices. Keep up the good work Sir. Is there anyway to possibly get a sticker for my hard hat?
Thanks! Write me at wpm44@yahoo.com with your address and I'll send you a dozen.
Nice tool thanks for teaching us personally I appreciate it 🙏
Good value for a clamp meter. Thanks for another great video Sparky.
Thanks Gary! Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the walk through man, helped alot.
Any time!
I like my Amprobe Amp25. It shows in rush current which is handy to know when you want to know what the start up amperage is (like say on a flux core welder)
Excellent! Sounds good!
Hey boss!.... GREAT video!..... Quick question, what tester DOES have "DC Amperage" .... I'm installing solar and from my understanding DC amperage would be great to know when testing solar panels..... Am I thinking right?
Good video.
Can I use over 400 A with it? Or should I have to busy new one like Fluke tester?
Thank you have always.
Awesome job thank you so much
nice job! and even ice water is hot in Florida!
LOL! It's been super hot here in San Diego as well.
I ordered the cl440 and cl390 the cl440 reads inrush current and the other does not but cl440 doesn't read DC current but the cl390 does along with ac current.
Learned a lot rhanks
Hey thank you for the video can you let me know if the meter CL 2220 I could test capacitors with with it
Thanks for all the info and tips im kata kaboooooooooooooom smashing my like botton
Awesome content, thanks!!
Welcome!
Excellent job sir,, well done, thank you👍
Many thanks!
That meter is priced very competitively. I have a Klein CL390 which measures DC also but costs more. I wish my 390 had low Z and work light. Other than than that it works pretty good for me. When working in control panels that contain triacs or SSRs , low Z is a must due to device leakage. Otherwise your meter will read leakage and give false readings.
Yes, I love the Low Z function!
Great meter for the money ... Good vid Wild Bill ...
Thanks Eddy, have a great weekend!
Great meter. Very good explanation too.
Thanks Sean!
That was helpful. Thanks
No problem, thanks!
Good to remember that you don't need to spend an arm and a leg on a Fluke to get a professional tool.
Thanks!
Can you do a review on the Klein CL700? Home Depot sells this one as one of their top clamp meters at my store.
I'll see what I can do, thanks!
The klein cl700 and mm700 are just awesome. Accurate reliable and so far relatively durable I use the mm700 every workday and the cl maybe twice a week for checking balanced load across 3 phases .
Bro the CL 700 is awesome! The MM I don't possess but I have other meters that do everything it does, so I don't need it. I have multiple clamps, auto meters etc but I like that the CL does just about everything I need in 1 unit. Specialized (not every day use) items get tested by other meters, but again it all depends on what you need it for, what you want to get out of it etc. Having said that, if it is capable of handling what you need it for, you can't go wrong with the Klein. I own flukes that everybody raves about but I think they're highly over rated and since finding out they're made in china (like most crap, milwaukee etc) I refuse to buy them. 'Murica first bruh.
Thanks for the vid. Can this meter test capacitors?
Doesn't have a setting for Microfareds so no.
Does it do microfarads?
I've been looking for a meter recently I might get this one
It's very nice for the money. Have a great weekend!
Can this be used as a non contact voltage tester.? Similar to voltage pen... where it beeps near live voltage?
yes
put it on ac and hold SEL
@memo vega thanks. Does yours work? When I hold my SEL to enter ncv mode, it seems to beep at anything I pointed at.
Can you only read amps using the clamp? Don’t see an option to read amps using the leads..
Yes, you can. But you have to interrupt a conductor. The clamp function makes testing amps much easier.
Hola desde Republica Dominicana...
I bought one...
Cheers from San Diego!
What is the difference between cl220 vs cl220?
If you mean CL120 and CL220, the 120 doesn't read temperature
2:43 quite dangerous when compared to the uk/Irish socket when you can stick things onto the line where the earth pin has to pull the shutters down to access it in ours.
that's an older receptacle; modern installs require shutters/tamperproof. and the ground prong on a plug is the long one.
@@wim0104 thanks for the info. 👍 Out of curiosity, how long have they been standard?
@@SteS not long enough ;-) I wanna guess & say 2014 for bedrooms and all countertops, but then each state has to formally adopt that new standard, and some states lag a lot. don't forget there's also gfci ("rcd" in europe? i never installed one) and arc fault protection on the circuit. arc fault will protect before you even see a spark.
and tamperproof shutters should not be your only line of defense, and you can buy those cheap plastic plugs to blank off any unused receptacle.
@@wim0104 yes and surge protection also in the consumer unit. Crazy how every state is different. 2014 is pretty late! 1947 was when shutters were introduced going by Wikipedia.
I replaced the batteries on mine and when I turned it on it reads CAL HOW do I take care of that?
I think it means calibration your going to have to go get it calibrated
Great vid, but I have a ? on the Amp reading part of it. On your test of the coffee grinder you metered 9.3a & said it's a 10x meter so divide by 10, which makes sense at 1a draw. My question is that I read through the instruction manual & nowhere does it say 10x , how did you know to divide by 10? I did a test on a hair dryer & my meter read 135a which doesn't make sense. But dividing by 10 it does at 13.5amps. How did you find/figure that out?
If you look at :41 you'll see that I'm using an AC line splitter. It is x10, so you need to divide your reading by 10.
Not bad for residential. But not to good for commercial and industrial use.
This unit will not clamp DC correct?
Never mind, I should’ve just watched a little longer. Lol
Excellent!
Does it have ac amp?
Yes.
I just picked up one for $5 😳
Good deal!
🍻🍺
Cheers with beers!
a simple meter, alr diode should be present
Celsius is better.
I think so as well.
