- Here is the sound demo of the MOOER PHOENIX 016 Micro preamp, which is based on the ENGL FIREBALL.
The 016 sounds great and tight to my ears, don’t necessarily need a boost IMO.
For the CAB SIM section I am still using the Carvin Legacy IR like I use in other videos.

Hey, what pickups/guitar were you using in this demo? Interesting that you managed to get those tight palm mutes without a boost.
Hey, the guitar used is Jackson MM HT6 (Indonesian made) with stock MM1 pickups.

No, but master effects from canada makes a preamp based on a gallien krueger amp, it's relatively pricier compared to the mooer stuff but his stuff are really good

I have not got the chance to play a real Fireball for comparison, but I think this little pedal sounds quite good :-).

@@KingCrimson82 This 016 is based on Engl Fireball, which is more for heavier stuff. For AC/DC type of tone I think Marshall based preamp would be better I think.
@@KingCrimson82 dude, there are like 10+ models of this pedal. There's one that sounds like a JCM900, good enough for some AC DC.
