So today I was going to finish up some things and then TR into a Paladin build (one of your recent builds)... I'm working of race completionist right now... but after seeing this build, I think I'm going to use this build for all my race leveling builds!
Hey Strimtom, I'm trying an Shadar-Kai version now and its fun... but I needed to change a few things (1 less FEAT, 17 AP into SDK)... so I dumped DEX and went STR 8 DEX 10 CON 14 INT 16 WIS 8 CHA 16 SDK / FvS / Warlock 1/1/18 [worse crit profile but Charisma Trance, 5th ES core and 2 chain attacks]; 2 AP into War Soul for DM [couldn't afford more AND get +4 CHA], 17 AP into SDK, 11 AP into Feydark Illusionist, 36 AP into Enlightened Spirit (getting 5th core and Displacement SLA from SDK), and 14 into Tainted Spirit. I will probably use this on my first HC run next season.
3:10 Story wise this sounds kinda interesting: "I have studied arts, philospohy and music in my early life, people liked me a lot and I lived a quite happy life, but everything changed, when I found a broken iron defender. It was like as if it was calling me, I studied arcane lore and construct mastery and reparied the iron defender, everything at first seemed alright, I helped him a bit and crafted a rune arm to understand his language... but something was off... I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I decided to look a bit more into it and as I gazed in it's eye it shined and a voice called to me... The voices told me that there is a great evil in this world and I have to eleminate it to restore balance and law in the celestial plane by eleminating the undead with my trusty iron defender and music."
I hate to be that guy, but he said he never went under half life while playing this build, and he definitely went under half life in the Von 1clip... but nice build!
Ive been doing racials/epics past lives on a full warlock for over 40 lives... this here is a weak warlock. I based mine off of vooduspyce's warlock tank uild from 2015..
I'm wondering how well it'll work without Feydark Illusionist early on... I haven't bought that yet. (EDIT - to be more specific, I've got two lesser accounts, and having a Swiss-Army "sidekick" character that can hold its own is very appealing).

Why is the stuff you have here totally different to your actual build on the forum? IE you emphasize balance is important, but it says put 0 points in it. Then on Artificer spells you say enchant weapon and resist energy spells in video, but build says to only ever pick up repair and inflict damage to constructs (the utility of which I cannot guess).
Everything here is NOT totally different... you are taking a few minor differences (probably minor bugs) and blowing things out of proportion. You need Balance 7 for Greater SWF (and Perform 6 for Inspire Competence!) and it's best if you get that straight away during your bard levels (when it only costs 1 skill point). First level Arti spells really don't matter that much, though I would recommend Conjure Bolts and the splash heal (maximized).. the resist energy spell is fine for first few levels until you can get the tier 2 ability (Resist Energies) from ES.

I have started to play this as I would on the HC server (mainly soloing now at lvl 7 on elite) but I am thinking of changing a few things: decided to go 16/3/1 (no rune arm, 1 level 6 spell) and was thinking of changing some of the FEAT choices... so far I have copied what you have done but really want to take SF Evocation. So was thinking of replacing (lvl 12) Offhand Versatility with SF Evo and probably the lvl 29 ED Feat (Arcane Warrior) with Perfect SWF which would be really nice with Reign III (by taking First Harmonic II, Bound Fate II and Grim Fate II). This build so far is really fun. Thanks.
I think I might be doing something wrong. I've been away from DDO for a while, so I decided to get back in with your build, and I thought I was fallowing it to down to the letter, but I keep dying. It might just be from rust, I keep getting dog piled, and my eldritch bursts don't do enough damage to deal with the stuff that comes at me. I'm currently at level 10, and I still need to rely on cleric hirelings. I took the same feats and the same enhancements at the same levels. You claimed that you didn't rely on equipment, so I don't know what I doing wrong.
I have a question about gearing, for this build specifically, but I'm sure it would also help in general. I always have a difficult time choosing what gear to use because of the bonuses they have. I never know if something like "illusion focus +3" or "evocation focus +3" or "magnetism +80" for example are things my character needs... or like the more vague (well it's not vague) "kinetic lore +13%" which tells you in the description that it affects all "force, physical and untyped magic" but those are not the schools of magic but is a different descriptor. Sure, I can spend the time going through my spells/abilities and seeing what school they fall under but sometimes I just don't have the time to sit there and try and figure them out. So...for this build specifically... what bonuses should I look for on my gear? And what about in general? Is there a link to something that can explain it in detail? What makes it more difficult to figure out on the fly is that the bonuses on gear often are named differently than the actual spell schools because that particular bonus applies to multiple spell schools! So is there somewhere that quickly lists spells by their gear descriptors? If so I could just print out a list and quickly refer to that when I need to! I did check ddowiki and though they have them all listed..it's not in a convenient single list but instead in each different category (all 31 of them)
@@Strimtom I follow a lot of your guides, just wanted to see how I can spin them to make them my own and I see what you are saying. Yeah makes sense for soloing to have a trapper. I am pretty new to the game even though I have been playing since launch. Never really got into DDO hard core.

Personally I'd swap Warlock for Ranger and just grab a repeating crossbow and rune arm, also fixes skills which makes it more versatile.

Screw traps and just be a full warlock tank... you can also be a full warlock with single weapon fighting..

Instead of arti can I do sorcerer for more cha synergy? Like a dragon eldrich knight swashbuckler. Sword and board EK, BARD-LOCK
As long as you don't mind giving up traps, then sure!
