Demonic Brigitte is the largest costume I ever made! It's completely out of foam, includes over 1000 LEDs and took me 1.5 years to finish! In this video I want to talk about all those things that drove me crazy! This costume stressed me a LOT, but I'm happy it's finally done! You'll also see how the amor attachment works, how the LED circuit was made and how we set up the photoshoot! Let me know if you have any questions!

I was shopping in Michaels, a craft store in New York. And in the foam aisle, a poster of Svetlana in one of her costumes, and it said KamuiCosplay. And below the poster were all the craft supplies Svetlana uses to build her Cosplay costumes. Foam board, foam clay, dremel, even worbla. Amazing. She's famous!!
That's cool! I'll have to check my local Michael's here in Iowa
I wish my local Michael's was that cool lol they don't have bigger rolls of foam board, or foam clay, not even air brushes....
I really enjoyed seeing the entire process of getting into the cosplay, I feel like people don't always know how much work it can be.
@@pcbuild3468 lmao ok then
@Jaegar19Ultima not exactly the things they pay for the cosplay can be hella expensive and earning money from it can help to afford the cosplays or buy more, yes some people do just do it for the money but there isnt anything wrong with that either
I so appreciate this video! I love getting to hear cosplayers' thought processes behind their builds, and it's so rare for people to talk about the whole process, much less what goes wrong. thank you so much for this!
Glad you liked the video! I'm always wondering if people like videos where I just talk about stuff and not show much of the "action"...
@@KamuiCosplay I agree with Rowan - seeing the process is really helpful!! It's a lot easier to learn when you see what things go wrong, too. Otherwise, when I try a technique or an overall idea out, if it doesn't work exactly like the video or the tutorial, it's hard to know what to try next. The "action" videos are really enjoyable, but I watch them for entertainment and to see just how talented you and Benni are, more than to learn how to do what you do. (That's what the books are for right? 😉)
yes, exactly! and it can be reassuring, since build videos often come across as so confident and competent, it can help fuel my anxiety that i'm not good enough sometimes. i also just really enjoy technical breakdowns on things (it's why i love punished prop's videos), and just learning how other people think things through.
Yeah, videos like these are so much fun and also rather calming imo
It‘s a shame not many people make them. :/
I actually started filming cosplay making offs but sadly they don‘t do well...But I won‘t give up, as long as I know some ppl may enjoy it!!
It’s been such a treat to watch the progress of this cosplay (1.5 years? Wow time flies!) it’s truly a spectacular project! Thank you for taking the time to show us how it came to life and I hope you take a big nap after this! 💖💖
I really love the purple wig! I think it makes the design look more like its own thing and not just Brigitte in a Diablo costume. Would never have guessed it was an accident
I spent 1000+ hrs over the course of a year building my Spartan, so I totally understand your excitement! Awesome work, you did great!
Bro you made a halo spartan! I’m currently making a ultra elite from halo reach
@@Opposite_Boiz nice! And yup! Currently making a tutorial series on his to build a Reach Spartan over on my channel.
@@RandomRangerCosplay awesome I’ll subscribe right away 👍
I tried making a spartan too, I didn't have the right materials and resources so I gave up but I'll definitely start again someday, this hobby is too cool for me to ignore
I am so glad you showed your thought process and how you felt as you made this cosplay. I was working on my own cosplay as i listened and found myself saying "it's okay if it isn't accurate, it works for me." You really helped me out by reminding me that accuracy isnt everything. Thank you so much!!! Fantastic job on such an amazing build!!!
It's much more important to actually get things done!
This is actually so motivational because many cosplayers do this while also having another job or school or both! So its nice to see even a full time experienced professional has setbacks.
Self reflection and the ability to accept compromise of your design shows you're at a master level of your craft. The costume is absolutely fantastic and I enjoy watching your creations come to life. Thank you for sharing all the time and effort you and Benny put into making something seem possible for the rest of us mortals.
🌟😎🌟
this is next level cosplay at this point, the way it glow...the sculpting, the way it put on using velcro hiden into the design....this is almost too good to be homemade
I like to see a reaction of Zach Fischer on the finish Costume! ;-)
Yes!! I am curious what Zach thinks of this epic homage to his art
lol...
"And Benni thought already I'm completely insane."
*camera nods*
I love your honesty and transparency so much. Every creator struggles with insecurity about their work. It's incredibly reassuring to see that even masters of their trade continue to deal with those anxieties. The costume came out amazingly, and I'm so proud of you for pushing through and finishing it!
Thank you for this additional video of this series! I think it’s so helpful and important to see the reflective opinion on your own work. This costume is absolutely incredible, and so much work and care and talent went into it, but even with all of that you still have your own critiques and places where you would like to continually improve. You can still be so happy and proud of a costume but still have things you don’t like or would like to do different.
Thank you for sharing, and congrats on getting it all done, it looks amazing! ♥️ from Canada
I don't cosplay, never been to an event and never plan to. But I haven't missed an episode in over a year! You and Benny are so fun and work great together.
A work of art is never complete, it is merely finished.....
Thank you for sharing your art.
This was INCREDIBLE to see the whole thing going together and on you! You are just the best! I just love love love your work so much! Thank you so much for sharing all those details. You are an amazing artist and should be so confident about how inspiring you are!! So much ❤❤❤
Hi Svetlana (and Benny)!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this impressive project! I've been watching your videos for years now and you are such a huge inspiration for me. To me, you are the gold standard of cosplay with how well you plan and execute your projects. Hearing your thoughts on what you are unhappy with or decided to change from the original design for convenience felt really comforting. And what you say it's true: It's not always about perfection but sometimes you have to make compromises.
Kudos and keep up the great work!
I think it's amazing! I totally understand your personal disappointments on things you would've done differently or "better" but it is SO awesome as it is. It's hard to struggle with our own inner perfectionists when creating something! For me sometimes this stops me before I even start so I commend you for not only moving forward but letting yourself do it "less perfect" than you originally envisioned. Well done!
Very interesting and entertaining video! I think it’s great that your share your uncertainties about the costume. If you can’t accept that a project will never be perfect, you will never be happy with the end result, no matter your experience and skill level. To be honest, I hadn’t seen any of the “issues”, I was in awe with the perfect looking costume!
My eyes kinda teared up a little bit when I saw the shield with the LED animation. It can be seen very clearly in the video.
Not sure if I'm just emotional today or just stupid in general. Anyhow it looks amazing, thank you for making this video.
Oh, believe me, I'm also very emotional when it comes to my work or when I see the wonderful things other create! :)
I think your costume making is an art, so call it happy accidents instead of mistakes. You are awesome and so is your channel.
Thank you very much! :)
This looks absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to see what project you have planned next. But please remember to take long and frequent breaks, we care more about your health than this form of technically educational videos that you release.
I appreciate this video in so many ways! I appreciate hearing your critiques and response to others' critiques as well. I feel like perfectionism is a trap all cosplayers get snared by from time to time, it's great to hear how you fight that and just accept mistakes and keep pushing forward rather than continuing to backtrack to fix that 1% that is slightly off (but would cost you sometimes months of work)!
Thanks so much! Really happy to hear you liked the video and my message! :)
Only flaw that I saw was worrying about the mistakes... absolutely stunning build. Having never made anything like this before (honestly your videos came up in my recommendations just a couple of days ago and I've been watching all of them) it is really helpful to hear all your thoughts behind the scenes. Don't ever forget to enjoy the journey, and thanks for all the hard work.
Well, as an artist you are always your worst critic. However, this is important to grow and improve your skills. And as long as you can control the desire to redo everything, it's fine! Thanks for all your feedback! :)
I can relate to this. I've been working on a costume for the past 1.5 years as well (although it's not done yet...) I've mainly struggled with motivation and just getting into foam smithing and pattern making. I guess I should say that this costume is a big level up for me. On the plus side, I'm getting motivation to finish this and your completion of this helps me out a lot! Great video and awesome job on this project!!!
Of all the channels I watch this one is the only one I'd ever use affiliate links for products mainly because this channel never begs for subscribers or likes and is actually educational to watch not to mention I love Svetlana's accent lol
Watching this and your monster hunter builds has really made me want to start my own MH build of the Odogaron alpha armour! I’m super intimidated by it and I’d have to learn very many new skills to pull it off (+ getting more body confident), but watching you slowly work away at such huge builds gives me the motivation and the courage to also leap into my first big build!
I have been watching your videos for a long time since I am trying to get into cosplay, I appreciate everything you do for the community and you are so inspiring!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent and work with the world and being so open about the process and even your doubts, which is not always easy! I have so much fun watching your videos and the process and you have truly inspired me! Thank you!!! (Also corgi squad 🐾I love Midna & Zelda) 😸
Such an amazing piece of work! So happy for you, and thanks for sharing all the details!
Corgi! But also it's been amazing following you for so many years! I remember when you were only posting on your blog. it was such a big inspiration for me and I'm glad to see you using it again :) Stay Safe

*sweats in cosplay competition*
Fabulous creation and loaded with great tips and tricks, all of your projects turn into incredible works of art, I noticed during the the breastplate construction how it resembles the face of an insect, a thought for a future costume creation and I also wondered if you had thought of trying green screen for your photo shoots that would help getting around the outdoors situation during covid, as always thanks for sharing x
Huge respect for everything you do and have achieved.
I really look up to you.
Svetlana, you give me the energy and courage to dive back into making cosplays wholeheartedly.
Thank you for your tips and tricks, your explanations.
Your motivation and energy are contagious.
I've also purchased some of your books.
Very satisfied with them, and they're also very helpful in terms of organization and explanation.
I'm looking forward to the next project.
Regards, Cosplaynicky.
That was really awesome to watch. I wanna try getting into working with LEDs for my 3D prints. Might be cool to have a glowing sword or something. I'll have to check out those videos you mentioned. Oh and "corgi"
I spent about the same amount of time on my Reinhardt cosplay, so I can absolutely understand the struggle of the process. Such fantastic work!
Ive missed this channel so much😭, I lost every channel I had subscribed to a year ago :( Im happy to be here listening to Svetlana again! ♥️😂
That whole costume is amazing. Thanks for the overview. You guys are both so talented and your individual skills combine to make a remarkable team.
I love you guys, thank you for all the videos and tutorials you create. It's an insane project and I'm so happy for you to finish it! It turned out amazing and soooo coool :D
Awesome! can't wait to see what else you will make in the future, thank you so much for your hard work and inspiration!
This is such an amazing video! I’ve been struggling with feeling like everyone is better at foam work than I am and I should quit making cosplays but this video really inspired me to keep going. Thank you guys for what you do!
i'm starting my biggest armor build so far and your honesty in this video about crafting struggles comforted me a ton! i also used your breastplate patterns for it so thank you for being such a great help 💕
Thanks for your honesty! We admire your work, so it's cool to know that frustration in process or after is "ok"
not gonna lie! your english improved soooo much! i just watched a video from you from 2 years ago! your accent has improved so much
Holy Corgies! That is an impressive amount of work but the end-product looks amaze-balls!
You don’t have to make excuses for why something doesn’t match a concept idea or make things exactly. You still have an amazing cosplay costume right there and I’m jealous of your skills. I like to cosplay as Steven Universe, but he’s a 14 year old kid with a baby face and I’m twice that age with a full bushy beard. I refuse to shave, so people should just accept my cosplay the way it is! Keep up the amazing work and ignore the people complaining about how something isn’t an exact match. ❤️
Well, think sharing my thoughts helps others to be more open and creative as well. Many artists have a perfectionism obsession and I just wanted to show, that it's fine to change things or why it can actually make sense. :)
Imagine putting on the whole stuff and THEN having to pee....
I would wear a diaper
Reminds me of a documentary on battle star galactica cylons (the old version)
Guess that depends....
@@loliii9408 lmao-
Corgi !
The whole process was awesom to watch, thank you !
I have a Tracer Cosplay for a Friend.
I started the cosplay back in 2016/2017 .. I think...yeah... in only need to glue everthing together but I have no motivation because of my private life. I'm really happy for my sympathetic friend... I made the cosplay half free.. She replaces every Material I use...
So, Kamui has a good point in doing every process in your way and time. .. I agree
Cosplay is a learning prozess.
Making costumes is not a competion for geeting fame. Making costumes is to have fun and wearing a cosplay is a way to show the world the thing you like or adore.
it's so wonderful to see this project complete!
This was amazing guys ! Loved seeing the whole costume and the studio bit in the end was also very helpful !
Okay so next cosplay when :P xD
Thanks for hanging out in the chat!
@@KamuiCosplay really loving these premiere shows 😄 i hope you continue this tradition. A wonderful way to interact with you and benni ! 🤗
It turned out so insanely good!!! Thank you fir sharing your god-like skills with us 😀
Some words about what you said "It's okay to make mistakes...". My father was carpenter and he said "A good carpenter is a good cheater", a sentence meaning that there's a lot of mistakes in a project but the challenge is to properly "cover" it.
Nice work by the way, ; )
This costume is incredible!! So glad I have been along for the ride.
So much talent! The end result is amaizng!
Muchas gracias por compartir con la comunidad este gigantesco proyecto ¡¡¡ Saludos desde México.
Such an amazing work. I just don't have any words to express my thoughts now, but I'm in love with this costume and with the way you tell about it!
You and your husband are super talented and love you enthusiasm and chemistry x
You look so badass in the finished cosplay! It's so awesome to see it after following the build since you began it.
Impressive! the skill and creativity is amazing. thank you for sharing. you're very gifted and talented.
Incredible! a masterpiece! Your time was well invested.
I can tell this was an especially difficult project for them. Thanks for slogging through it--ilearned a lot!!!
Awesome video, as always. I just ordered your book, too. You guys rock!
I've been following you for years and your cosplays always blow me away.
What an amazing project! I'm so impressed with all you accomplished!
Great series! Thank you xx
I always appreciate when you mention why you use a certain material. Now I know to order some high density EVA foam for carving! Thanks 😊
You are extraordinarily talented and every video you make is a delight of information and talent.
Love the videos! You guys make some amazing stuff
You are right about the leg proportions, but all you need to do is remake the shoes, not the armor. If you can build platform shoes that give you about +3 inches, it'd be almost perfect. That'd be 20% of the work (shoes only, not the legs too) to get 80% of the effect you want.
Incredible work. Truly amazing.
I chuckled when I saw the buy my books shirt. Very cute. I really enjoy your builds. You make it look like it's super easy.
Such good work you guys! Seriously impressive!
I really like the different tone of purple! It gives everything a nice pop of color and doesn't just blend in with everything else
This is so relaxing to watch, and sooooooooo so impressive!
LMAO soooo funny your clips of this character has been flying around TikTok and Facebook A LOT. I have had 3 of my family members in the past 2 days that have sent me the links to those videos. Little did they know I am a HUGE fan and have watched all your videos and own all your books! Lol!! ❤❤❤
Ha ha ha, this is super funny! So happy you enjoy my content!!! :)
@@KamuiCosplay My brother and I both love your stuff! You are my costume/prop hero!!!!!!
Absolutely fabulous!
Wooow can't wait! i love your more Vlog like videos too!!😍
Thank you for inspiring me to finish projects!
Hi Kamui, i have a request please can you make a video about how to prepare yourself for a cosplay contest ? Like tips in choosing the character, upgrading it's appearance to your liking, planning the actual show etc
Hello, congratulation for this costume, it's really a Masterpiece +1
The rendering final is awesome, you're really a great artist !!!
Buenísimo querida, que hermoso trabajo
wow and wow!!
I've watched all the videos so far (naturally) and this costume is just EPIC!
Regarding the inverted bracers, I actually think it makes more sense this way because, why would you have a soft leather bracer on your unprotected arm and a fully armored beneath your shield? The way you got them now, you have a nice soft "cushion" for holding the massive shield and deflecting incoming blows with comfort, while a strong armored bracer is on your main hand to crush some extra enemy skulls while swinging your mace in battle!
In short as Bob Ross said, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents."
Cheers ^_^
Corgi!! Thank you for the amazing videos and tutorials
Truly amazing! What a tour de force!
There is something about working super hard for a long time on something and finally wearing it for the first time...and its all restricting and uncomfortable but also the best feeling ever
Love it and Thanks for this special video !!
such an informative video, thank you!
It's so good to see your love towards cosplay!
Awesome! You can be proud of yourselves!
Super awesome job, Svetlana! I love how this turned out. No flaws, just character! :)
Do you ever work out the material costs of these costumes (like for business tax write-offs, etc.)? If one of us were crazy enough to attempt a costume like this, obviously sinking hundreds of hours of time into such an endeavour, how many hundreds (thousands?) of Euros do you think would be spent on all of the raw materials required? (Foam, clay, leather, electronics, glues, paint, varnish, wig, etc..)
i kept seeing this in my recommendations for some reason and im glad i eventually watched it. thats an incredible cosplay
Incredible costume. Great work
Amazing work
Thank you for sharing this great work
I kinda feel like you have history with switching side on some costume parts, haha. Awesome work!
The costume looks absolutely amazing! Good video 🙂
Thanks! :)
