    @ 17:47. Omg how did you pop that axle off so easy?. I have a 2013 Sonata Hybrid and I had 5 different shops tell me they couldn't take the axle off. They told me even if they were to take off the axle, my aftermarket Duralast axles wouldn't fit my car. Any guidance would be helpful. Thank you so much.

    • @CarMechaNick
      @CarMechaNick  Před 4 lety +1

      Is it stuck in the hub? Are the Duralast axles the wrong part number? If the part number goes to your vehicle they will fit fine. We use autozone parts regularly with few issues and they are great about warranty items. If its stuck in the hub tell them to put some heat on it. Air hammers are great but nothing beats a 6lb hammer. A hammer will for sure mushroom the axle. You have to install the nut a few threads to keep it from being to much to fit through the hub. Really hard to explain through text but I hope that helps in some way.

    • @jolush1207
      @jolush1207 Před 4 lety

      @@CarMechaNick no the hub side is fine but both transmission side of the axles cannot be taken out. Different shops tried heating it up, banging hub side w hammer, and few pry bars. I was going to take it to the dealership but dealer doesn't use aftermarket parts. Part numbers are absolutely correct. I use Duralast gold for brakes, pads, battery, timing n water belt, etc.... I just found it completely absurd for local shops to tell me that my Sonata Hybrid doesn't "take " Duralast axles. But i seen you dismantle this car with ease.

    • @CarMechaNick
      @CarMechaNick  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you! Haha I love what I do and I do it often. It shouldn't be that hard. DO NOT apply heat to the trans or to the axle close to the trans. Sometimes rotating them and prying. Or using 2 pry bars to put even leverage on both sides. I've had cars where I've had to wedge my chisel in there . Be careful with the axle seals into the trans. You can also tap the axle cup with a ball peen as you pry. It will come out. You just need to find someone more motivated. That stinks, the dealer should be willing to use your parts just with no warranty.

    • @jolush1207
      @jolush1207 Před 4 lety +1

      @@CarMechaNick yeah after I seen them heat it up i just gave up. Axles seal are delicate. Funny story on the sonata hybrid, the axles only clicks and makes noise when turning during the summer time. All winter long it runs fine. But as soon as their is a 85+ degree day it just start making noise. I knew I should just bought a Camry instead 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @CarMechaNick

    Hi!! Recently the pump of the HSG on my car failed and I have the service light (yellow wrench) came on with the flashing ready light, and my car started having a problem like its kind of confusing to wether use EV mode or gas. Especially when its coming to a stop from driving. And sometimes it wont accelerate using the EV mode from a stop til gas engine takes over (but this takes like 3 seconds after hitting the accelerator). This also occurred when weather is hot and the car has been running for a while technically hot as well. I have replaced the pump and the service light went out but the issue or problem is still there. Do you think its the HSG? the HSG or its senson might been burned since the pump failed? Can someone help me with my problem?

      @RealWjay Před 2 lety

      @@CarMechaNick Hey, so to make it more clear now, when the engine is cold everything is perfectly working. As soon as the engine gets hot, thats the start of having the issue. Especially when the weather get hot. When the engine is hot, basically from driving it, and slowing down or coming from a complete stop, when i try to accelerate, the electric motor does not respond and it waits til the engine takes over in order for you to be able to drive or move the car (about 3 seconds delay from a complete stop). So when the engine gets rest a bit, then its all goes back to normal (well not quite, electric motor responds but not too long til it switches to gas motor). Basically its all about when it gets hot (weather and the engine). Do you think its something like a sensor?
