I have no idea, how you remember, where every hose or wiring harness goes 🧐 there's too many black hoses, wiring harnesses and connectors in those engine bays. Too much darkness, they need to color code everything, that is bulky. 🤔 unfortunately, too much planned obsolescence built into that car, and all the others. imho Great job, on your part.
Thanks! It can be crazy with certain cars. Mainly German cars. They have plugs that will plug into one another when they shouldn't. Most manufacturers put little grooves in certain areas of the connectors to keep them from being put on the wrong sensors. I have about six different colored paint pens to prevent running into these problems though. Always think ahead. I started out poking all my bolts into a box and labeling them, now I'm just a magnet freak! You live and learn.
Honestly if I did it in the side with no parts in my cost i would do the job for 5-700 depending on if I have a lift or not. The harder I have to work the more I charge.
@@CarMechaNick Thanks for the fast reply. That is A LOT LESS than I expected. I have a feeling the price of the transmission might be as much as the blue book price.
I did the motor the first time and took them out as one pice. Test drove the car and trans was bad. (Not my diagnosis on engine) I realized how easy it was to remove when doing the engine and liked the extra room so I did it here as well. Its only necessary to remove a subframe for a trans with a FULL subframe. Atleast in my experience. :) that would be why.
''GREAT JOB!'' wish you were here in Cincinnati Ohio. Could sure use your services.
Thanks! I am in Ohio but sorry i don't do side work.
Does it need to reprogram after replacing it?
What is the cost of installing thats transmission?
What is he putting into the bolt holts with a paintbrush?
Lol I was putting some lubricant.
Lol who gave thumbs down? Awesome tutorial
Thanks Matt!

Does it need reprogramming, after installing
As far as I know all cvt transmissions need to be reprogrammed. Im curious what you use when this job isn’t done at the dealership
We send it to the dealer. Its roughly 200 bones for them to program for us here in Ohio.
What is the ballpark cost for this job?

@@sailingstonerose it's not a cheap unit but I'm not sure what we paid. I don't pay much attention to the prices. I just get the jobs done :)
You dropped the WHOLE crossmember??? Why???
