Oh noooo... not skillshare here too... they've already infiltrated my favourite art CZcamsrs and now also you 😭😂😂
But seriously, great to see this video by such a big platform 🔥😇
Well, think about it this way:
I make videos and try to educate people about my passion , Skillshare believe in what I do to promote their platform.
they also allow me to keep doing what I love doing.
If it was a shitty service I wouldn’t do it… but I use it myself :) 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I just want to let you know that I appreciate all of your videos, all the ones that I've seen anyway.

Me too I'm scared of falling I'm scared of nothing
The falling backwards one is a great tip.
Awesome 🙏🏻glad you enjoyed it
@@RicardoLino legit man this is gonna help so much. The coccyx thing is always the worst fall for me and im lucky ive never fractured it
@@RicardoLino broke my coccyx several yesrs ago snowboarding, its awful. Follow that instruction homies. Protect that thing.
I am here with so much pain thanks to that fall, protec the coxys guys.
Tell me about it would be good if I had watched this video a month ago a guy at the skating rink was skating backwards not looking where he was going and hit me from behind and I fell on my tailbone and Fracture it one of the worst pain ever.
I am a beginner inline skater, it is currently my day 4 and I've noticed a lot of wrong things I'm doing because of this video. I can't thank you enough, sir. This video helped me so much. I will compile my progress and definitely include you in that video. God Bless you sir.
Wha?? Today is my day 4 too! It may be your 5th day today though...
@@plainabilah I've finished my 5th day and I'll continue after tomorrow since I just got my 1st dose of vaccine hehe.

my 4th day as well. how are you now? :)
I've been trying to get into skating on and off for the past year. Somehow, even with my improvements I feel like I'm still finding it hard to do many basic things. But your videos have helped me a lot, so thank you! Because of your knee tip, I can get up from the ground easily :) One of my big hurdles is fear of falling. I hadn't found a backwards fall like this so thanks for it! I'm gonna keep going!
I really hope it will increase your confidence levels.
Let me know how your next season goes 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Ricardo is right on the money on that one - very important to avoid the tail bone. I find that my body has adapted to favoring my left butt cheek in a fall. I wear wrist guards, because I can't seem to get my arm not to try to help. The more you fall, get up and keep going, the less you end up caring that you fell, because you know there will be a good chance that you'll just get back up and keep going. And I find that the adrenaline rush and exercise seem to make the injuries less painful, anyway. Happy skating! = )
you can get protective padded shorts for your lower body, so if you fall it can protect your tailbone, butt, etc. this, protective gear, and helmet will decrease your fear of falling by a lot.
This is some great advice. I need to practice falling more. Right now, I have a lot of fear skating.

Been skating 15 years and just put this on for kicks. Honestly, your tips are so good even for someone very experienced. Very well explained, nice old-school video format.
im teaching my girl friend and a couple friends how to inline right now, thank you for pointing out some tips for me to watch out for as i teach them. Being a fluid skater for years, its hard for me to exactly explain how to skate to a beginner because i dont really notice the efforts i use to skate the way i do lol. These tips should help!

I'm an intermediate, I've started about two years ago. Regarding falling, I've fallen just a couple of times so far, and I feel like that when it happens, you're down in a moment, and you haven't any time to think of the theory, letting alone applying it. The only thing that helps, in addition to protections, is the posture, mainly not bending backwards, so that if I have to fall, I'm likely not to fall in the worst way. Maybe an automatic reflex can be developed by "fall training", I don't know, I envy the cats!
I stacked it two years ago (10 minutes into skating for the first time in like 10 years) and sprained my knee and haven't touched them since because I'm too scared of doing it again. I'm slowly building up my mental confidence by watching a lot of videos and this type of stuff will hopefully help me fall less hard.
I have little knee support/suppression bands that also double as knee pads. I just hot them from amazon and highly reccomend them. They have like a rubber ring that goes around the knee.
Showing this to my wife and friends that are getting into skating! Love that they’re hyped about it. Thanks Lino 🤙🏼
About 10 months after lower back surgery, I got back on quad skates. My rink closed, so I tried the skate park. My stopper came off. I fell backwards like a cartoon character on a banana skin. Nothing I could do. I fell flat on my back. I was skating with my friend who is a nurse. I laid on the concourse looking up at the sky. My friend was worried. She was convinced I should go to hospital. I was more worried about getting up. I am not a small lady. She helped me up. I got up and it actually realigned my back and hip! I've had no hip pain and less back aches since. And the best thing.? The fear of falling is gone. It had to happen. Goes with skating. Pad up people.
Eyyy, the new micro skates looking clean😏
Yap. They will be out in couple months and another surprise coming this week ;)

I really wish my teacher told me that when I was learning skate. I fell backwards and my coccyx broke and I'm still struggling with it
So thank you for this useful video 💕
Woah dude. I'm not the best, but I speed skate with Olympic speed team. I always try to teach beginners how to push properly. But after watching this, im just going to send them a link to this!!! Thank you brother your helping out alot of people!!!!!
Hi Ricardo I personally made several mistakes when starting out on inline skates. The first was that you have to train on a flat surface. I started on a bit of an incline with an elevation. Another was an inappropriate push. When a person learns it wrong, he does it wrong for a long time. My next misstep was speed. Seeing your videos when you're going fast is very motivating, but I've learned that I need to start riding slower. Mainly because of the surfaces. Driving in our small town, where in front of every apartment building there are different tiles, asphalt, concrete, pieces of branches, rockeries, is completely different than, for example, on the cyclo asphalt in Germany, or even in your place in Saint Petersburg. Also the fact that if someone wants to take this sport seriously, they shouldn't start with soft boot skates. That's how I started. A mistake. I should have gone to buy more expensive hard boot skates right away. About 150 euros and more. Protectors are also important. Seeing how you and others like you are doing without protectors can mislead beginners. Even if a person has protectors and falls, he can also fall on his knuckles. Previous mistakes cost me both broken wrists. That's why there are so many new skates for sale in bazaars. Allegedly due to lack of time or the size of the shoe 😄😄😄.. Nevertheless, I continue on, watching your videos, but if I could turn back time like this: 1. Hard boot 2. Protectors 3. Push training. 4. Power stop. 5 jumps 6. Back skating... And only then increasing the speed. I wish you good health. Your subscriber inline skater jojo from Ružomberok, Slovakia. 🫶👈
Thank you for this detailed explanation! I just got my skates (and I love them!) and will start my first practice this weekend. Your videos helped me understand the basics so I do feel more confident now. :)
I love your uploads. Thanks for all the tips... I am still re-learning everything
Hola Ricardo! You are teaching really good, I would love to see more of these. Thanks for the effort
We need more of those video's! I'm a noob with skates and have no one to teach me. So please make more of them so i can learn. You explain it very well!
@ricardo lino, hi i am from malaysia. Thank you for having these videos for us. It is so informative and i have started skating back after 20 years off wheels. Now i am getting in back and learning again. It felt so different when i used to skate.
I adore your work. You're so helpful, wholesome and knowledgeable! You and your wife are absolutely adorable too, by the way! ❤️
I've picked up skating this year after watching you and a few other online inline skaters. I hadn't skated since I was around 13 or 14 and now I'm rolling on some tri wheel skates. You've inspired me to practice my stops to open up where I can skate! Thanks for keeping inline alive.
I needed this, I'm relearning how to roller blade, and learning how to skate on quads for the first time. Thank you!!
Obrigado, Ricardo! Going back to inline skating after 15 years, I could use all the tips I can get! Thank you for your videos!
I've just started taking figure skating lessons, and almost all the things you said apply to ice skates as well, but they way you explain each point is the most useful I've seen, including my actual coaches and several figure skating tutorials on youtube! Thanks for the video!
I been skating for a year and been having problems in my stride I felt heavy. Your video really helped fix those problems with in minutes of seeing your video.. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to help others grow in skating.
Thanks a lot, Ricardo! Your advices were extremely useful! You have mention couple points, I had never think about before!
I was looking for reviews on the Micro Skate MT4 Lavender and coincidentally came across this on one of the videos. Thought it was the same skates on the thumbnail and now I'm convinced to get these! Thank you!!! 💗 Really great advice on the video too! Subscribed!

I haven’t skated since I was a kid! Just bought roller blades yesterday and started learning again. Of course I’m nervous about hurting myself but I’m taking my precautions and watching videos. Thanks for these tips!
Thanks so much! Amazing insights that not many instructors include in their lessons!

Great work, Mr Lino! 👍 I'll share this vid with everyone who's struggling to get into skating.
Loved the video. It's been a good 20 years since I've been on skates, I am going to start again and will also be teaching my son (who is 6) so that we can both be more active and healthier. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!!! I knew what I was doing wrong but didn't know how to correct it. Saw many videos but yours is the only one I understood perfectly
Wow great video! Very well explained and fun to watch, thank you!
4:00 I've hit that bone when I was a kid. Sitting was painful, especially for longer periods of time (like car rides). It has gotten better over the years, but the first few months were horrible, and it was still problematic like 8 years later. It's now been about 15 years and I don't notice it in day-to-day life anymore, but there are still times when I don't sit correctly and it starts to hurt after a while.
I've heard stories of others who couldn't sit at all after such an injury and people who had serious problems with it for decades.
In other words, please don't underestimate that warning. The chance of it happening is small, but the consequences can be huge. You'd rather break a wrist than to hurt your tail bone.
I used to skate and I was curious how you were teaching people, these are great tips for the beginners. Nicely done.
This is the most informative video for beginners! Thanks for making it concise and easy to understand
Just got my first pair of skates and 2022 is the year of learning a new skill. This video has helped me not be too afraid to get in them. Being a woman of a certain age, I am a little scared of falling but these tips are a great help, Thank you!
I’m happy I found this channel - I just bought some online skates my first pair since the 90s - videos like these are so useful -I feel like I’ve forgotten everything
I love this video I'm also a ice skate coach but I teach figure skating but everything what you said is exactly what I teach except in roller skate and figure skating stopping is different but we'll done on the video I'm planning on trying inline skates myself.
Amazing video, thanks for sharing!
Very good points about not locking up the joints, something many of similar videos dont mention. But only way to prepare for this is to practice it regularly otherwise people just panic. Muscle memory is hard to develop (in the fall theres almost no time to think).
Great lesson!! I would suggest snowboard shorts for beginning. Completely padded. And wrist guards, knees and elbows. Thank you for this great video!
Thank you! Im glad to discover your channel, it means a lot🙏🏻
I’m glad too ;)

I feel like hardly anyone gives the advice of not locking your joints so thank you so much for this! I broke my left wrist catching myself while trying to do crossovers, because my elbow was locked.
I've been window shopping rollerblade skates for some years and today watching your video I've decided to give it a try 😊 I don't skate since elementary school, can't wait to receive the impala package 😁

Very very nice video. your video helps a lot me and my friends. thank you so much keep it up.👌🏻🤗
like 6 weeks ago I fell in my coccyx, I still feel the pain when I sat for a long period, I'm glad I watch this video, cuz I didn't know how to avoid that fall although the time when I fell was because I got distracted so I noticed when I was on the floor. Thanks for the video and greetings from Chile!
I used to roller skate when i was a teen and so I thought transitioning to inlines would be easy. I was wrong. They feel very different and i fell more than i'd like to admit. It got the motion and strides but still need to learn how to stop better. Im not as confident as i was starting but im definitely making progress i can be proud of.
this awesome! gave me a good laugh while learning!! Thank you sir!
I've only skated on quad roller skates, and even then it was very limited experience and a long, long time ago. Now at age 55, I find myself looking at inline skating to supplement or replace my treadmill work, and provide an activity that I can do with my 16 year old daughter who also only has very limited experience with quad skating. This video and another of yours that also covered some basics, have been very helpful in giving us basic knowledge to start building skills upon and get up to speed faster and safer. We'll be putting your information to use once it warms up enough for us to get outside and begin training. Thanks for the video!
Thanks.. I really appreciate these.. your tips very usefull for beginer
Comfy skates you can use safely and effectively are a must. I started skating in 2018 at age 37. My first pair was a pair of Rollerblade Macroblade 80Ws. I tried them on in the store, and they're still my go-to skate. Now, do I wish I had a good pair of aggressive skates and a good pair of slalom skates, or at least inline hockey skates? Sure! But the skates I have work for most of the skating I do. You get over the fear of falling as you practice and actually fall. If you're worried about it, you get pads - which I highly recommend, especially when you're new.
Almost 58 years and just got interested in inline skating. Very informative, thank you!
Τhank very very very much for the lesson! This video helped me so much!
I've been skating since I was a kid and never thought of all the motions and things I actually do. I remember in school we had to write steps to make a pb&j as if we were telling an alien how, for writing comprehension. We all did awful because we just assumed they understood certain things because we did. It's same with this. I never really thought about all the steps that actually go into it. You explained it eloquently and simply at the same time. Loved the video. Even though I'm a year late!
Great job @Ricardolino! Thanks for the lessons. 1st time skater in my 30s.

Today was my first day skating. I just decide Record myself to know where is my mistakes ,looking and watching videos from professionals on that and with who knows skating, them I find you, After watch your video and look what I was doing. I realize that I have done so many things wrong, So thank you for the Tips, It will help me a lot to fix what's wrong with my skating.
The reason I can't skate , broke my right ankle 3 times had 3 lateral ligament reconstructions, had my accessory navicular bone removed and my Posterior tibial tendon reattached , and yet I still keep watching these vids , and thinking back to when I could skate as a kid .
Tip 8. Wow..had no idea I was doing that. That and locking the arm and wrist broke my wrist two years ago. No protection completed the sudden tragedy. Now after two years of cowering, I am back with a vengeance, never taking a second for granted, never getting too heady or proud, protected with pads, and BETTER than EVER. Corrective details just help me that much more.❤
