Thank you sooooo much. I was trying to figure out where to put the nozzles, and you helped me see there were some installed already, and the nozzles I found in the kit we're extras. :) :)
Those extra gas bibs are actually a propane conversion kit.If you use liquid propane instead of natural gas you would have to switch out the orphisis that are already in your cooktop with the ones in that kit.
Loved this video! Gave a realistic picture of installation rather than the picture perfect result.
Yeah was a lot more work then I thought it would be and I was learning as I went.
This is great diy video. I just bought exact same model, will try installing it myself.
Thank you. Installed mine referring your video.
The connection is 3/8 because you are supposed to install the regulator that comes with it.
I was wondering about the regulator. Was it in the box?
I just installed the 30” cooktop version, then saw this video and wondered why didn’t he install the regulator.
At first I was kind of skeptical about getting this model I was going to go for electric but I talked to a lady yesterday and I was telling her that I was going to live off the grid and she told me that this model that we see here is the better option for me I just needed to do a few minor adjustments when I looked at this video I was so blown away and amazed at how beautiful and sufficient this thing was I could not have been steered a better way then this product here I will be ordering this product very when my house gets built this summer I can't wait I am looking so forward to having my own CZcams video about this product
It’s a great stovetop and we still enjoy it almost everyday to this day. Enjoy your new house when it’s done and your new stove.
I have the same unit, except the middle burner is silver not brass like yours. Called Samsung directly and confirmed that gas regulator is not needed because the cooktop already has one built in. So you are fine without regulator. I will be taking the external regulator off tomorrow. Good review.
Yeah my book said it wasn’t but people posted incessantly that it did, so I posted the disclaimer on the video. Thank you for the information and thank you for the comment.
I appreciate the video. I’m looking at the exact same one. Thanks.
3hunglow you are so welcome enjoy it when you get it....it is super good and we love it
Very useful, I'm probably going to bite the bullet on this stovetop myself. Thanks!
Yeah it’s great you will love it.
The gas pressure regulator must to be installed on that cook top to be safe and work properly. A pressure regulator is not optional.
Please read the description section. Thanks
Why not? Isn’t pressure regulated at meter? Wasn’t sure is that this is included for a propane conversion.
If you pause the video at 3:34 and compare the diagram on page 18 on the instructions, it looks like the opening on the bottom of the head should have been lined up with the opening on the top of the burner? I could be wrong but thats what it looks like on the instructions.
I had one installed and paid $300, I was hoping to learn what the Wi-Fi does other than take up hard drive space
Good job.
jeffhencie thanks, glad you enjoyed.
Is it possible to replace my existing 30 inch stove top with this 36 inch stove top? Current cabinet size is 34inches when measuring inside. What is the minimum cabinet size required?
Thanks so much for your video! In the process of getting the same cooktop (Labor Day savings!) as part of our kitchen remodel. Can you update with any reviews how the griddle is working and whether you use the 22,000BTU burner for Wok cooking? Thanks a bunch
rolf heimes hey this is so good to hear that this helped. On the updates: we don’t really use the griddle much as with most things you would use it with we don’t eat. But I will tell you this, make sure you oil or “season” the heck out of it before the first use, my wife got bacon stains and stuff stuck to it like no tomorrow. The large burner comes in handy from time to time especially if you want to sear or get water boiling super fast. That thing is like a jet engine when it’s on high. We still haven't purchased a WOK to use on it, as my wife is very anti-veggies... So it would be just me "woking" my food. Here are my only observations that you don’t consider at first when you first start using it. The pots or pans need to be as large as the burner you use or you will end up with melted handles or handles that are 5000 degrees when you grab them. The stove overall cleans up easy, but I would highly recommend you don’t allow things to just sit on the grates and get burned in over and over, it will take you A LOT more time to get those stains out. And when those stains do happen, final words, spray with over cleaner outside in a plastic bag or something and let them sit. Then come back with a scrubber. Overall insanely happy and stand by everything I told you in the video, including that the app is useless...lol....still is.
Thanks much!! Yeah, most people don’t understand the seasoning of cast iron ... But thanks a lot. Off we go for purchasing ours ;-)
@@rolfheimes Excellent, and post back how you like it when you have time.
@@rolfheimes Please let us know about your experience with Wok cooking using the center burner. I have been shopping around cooktops all over the places and this Samsung model looks promising.
Bought one. Hope the cutout for the existing GE Profile is r et ge sans as the Samsung. Girl from Best Buy told me the opening width had to be 37 and 7/8. What?
Very nice work & beautiful piece! Watched it Several times. You are the only person has the black ss w/video (which is the color prefer). But hard to have a matched vent hood. Any pros & cons ? Could u take a pic of the beautiful cooktop?
John Lee thank you sir. Yes we love it. If you would like to PM me with an email address I will be more than happy to send you what it looks like now. But suffice to say, we live this thing and my wife enjoys cooking even more now.
ipon70 is this where I send PM?
Any updates on this cooktop after one-year?
Looks great! Just wondering what the depth of your countertop is.
From the backstop to the front is right at 24 3/4
i really liked this product but sadly coulndt find one in UK to purchase
I did some quick research on Samsungs UK website and it look like they don't sell it over there. I guess you could order the US version from Amazon, just make sure that you have either propane or Natural gas to hook up to it.
Does the SmartThings app say the cooktop is on even though the burners are off? Mine is currently showing that and I’m wondering if it’s because the Smart Connect light is constantly on.
Mine doesn’t do that, but it could be a refresh issue. If you hard close the app, and reopen and that fixes it, it’s probably a refresh issue.
At 2:20 you had no idea what the item was. Could it have been a cap to put on in case the wifi module is removed? Wondering if you can remove the Wifi Module completly?
It was the propane/gas converter or regulator.
What is the dimensions of the small square in the right hand corner of the stove?
Roughly 2 1/2 “ wide by 1 1/2”deep by 3/4” high. Hope that helps
How has the black held up. I was cautioned that if it scratches it will show silver, but it would look cleaner than stainless steel so I'm trying to decide. Do you still like the cook top?
So far so good. We haven’t had any issues with the black. Our cooktop is used most days and.we have cleaned it with the normal heavy duty oven cleaner and it’s good. No noticeable scratches thus far. Thanks for the question.
Also still love it, it’s a great and very powerful cooktop.
ipon70 I got the stainless steel, very happy with it too.
The app is a bit kludgy and looses connectivity, but the app is superfluous anyway.
Yeah the app is literally pointless in my opinion. Glad you like it we love ours.
@@ipon70 I wanted to use it to check to see if my son left the stove on once I got to my girlfriend's, but I couldn't connect at that time.
Hey, Ipon whats the measurement from the rear of the cutout to the rear back splash? The manual says minimum requirement is 3 1/3” but mine is 3”. I’m wondering if it’ll fit.
speshuled619 I am out of town right now, but let me check when I get home
speshuled619 so I measured from the end of the stove to the wall and it’s about 1.5 inches. And the little transmitter that sticks out the back has maybe a 1/16th of an inch before it would hit the wall. Hope that answers your question.
ipon70 thank you. I pulled the trigger on the stove and it fit without any issues. Your video helped a lot on the install.
speshuled619 oh thank you so much. It’s so nice to hear kind words and that people enjoy your efforts. Many happy times cooking with that beast. I will warn you of one thing, season the cast iron griddle before use, other than that, the unit is amazing. Enjoy!!
Season what’s?
My faceplate underall the knobs were damaged and need to replaced. How do you remove it?
Oh man that sucks. I honestly don’t know though on the removal, sorry.
that little "random piece" that you show at 1:19, isn't that a cap, for if you want to remove the WiFi module? I read that in some homes, the countertop doesn't allow for the space, or some folks don't want the module, so you can use that "random piece."
Just realized you did NOT use the provided gas regulator. Isn’t that a code violation?
It’s in the comments of this video.
Did the regulator come with the stove top?
Dezi Rose yes it did
Does the Smart Connect work or not? Can you control it? That section was very critical.
Mo Moadeli the cooktop does show up inside the Samsung SmartThings app. It can’t do anything but does show. Nothing on the stove is controllable just notifications basically.
Not able to get mine to connect. It doesn't recognize the device. And I don't have the original QR code tab that you have. Any tips that password is blank on the Wi-Fi and I don't know what it is
I don't see you using the pressure regulator.
yacawntmiss please read the description tag below the video
Yeah I noticed that too. Maybe include that mistake in the video rather the description. Almost no one reads the description.
Left out the installation of the regulstor.
It’s in the description of the video and was already addressed about 50 times.
One question, why did you not use the regulator ?? It’s 3/8 on the cooktop side and 1/2 on the gas line side and is supposed to be used. Thanks for the vid , helped me a lot.
findingKMo hey thanks for the question. The regulator from what I read was only for LP (Propane) and not for your standard natural gas. Now I am far from and expert and I honestly don’t know what would have happened had I used it, but I am not a gambling man. Hope that helps you out, and enjoy your cooktop.
Looks like you might have mis-read the instructions or maybe the instructions were updated? My instructions read: "must remain in the supply line regardless of whether natural gas or LP is being used." Guessing that the regulator prevents any high pressure bolus of gas from reaching the stove. Thanks for the video. Very helpful and entertaining.
How is it doing after 4 years of install? Are you satisfied with this product?
Still a good stove. Works perfect and haven’t had any issues with it. Word of warning, don’t get any over cleaner on the panel it will discolor it. But functionally perfect as the first day.
Dude the instructions say install foam around the cutout opening... you stuck it to the cooktop.. that is NOT right.. Did you read the install guide?
ISEE YOU the foam can be put on the cooktop or the counter. I actually called the builder of our house and ask about it, because the old one had it on the cooktop. They said it didn’t matter it’s just to keep it from resting on the granite, but doesn’t actually even have to be used if you don’t want. Hope that answers your question/statement.
I worked in construction most of my life installing appliances... it goes on the counter... the builders are the worst about knowing how things truly go together.. Instructions say on the counter.. I have the same cooktop in my house I installed as well as the oven and microwave to match.. Also most builders don't touch the home... they contract out the work and just sit back collecting money. My Dad was a superintendent for many years and started his own electrical company until he recently retired. I grew up roughing in and trimming out houses (includes appliances). It's not even meant to make contact with the edge you put it on....I'm the guy you call for a professional install.... hope that answers's your question/statement..
@@ipon70 In general, following the manufacturer's instructions is a pretty good practice.
@@badlilstang blah blah blah no one cares about your life story.
@@chazz256 Apparently you cared enough to reply.. dipshit..
These are not Gas Bibs. They are nozzles that are to be installed if you are connecting it to LP gas rather than Natural gas.
Do the knobs get hot
QWIKEN MTB not at all.
ipon70 are they stainless steel ?
QWIKEN MTB I honestly do t know what they are made of, but they are a very nice heavy duty knob.
ipon70 ok im going for it thanks for responding back
QWIKEN MTB I think you will love it. Season the grill plate before you use it, it’s sticks like crazy if you don’t.
13:40 No, you would have had to pay someone $70/hr labor PLUS the cost of parts that you paid. This way you only had the cost of parts.
Where’s the regulator? That’s what connects the 3/8 🤦🏼♂️
Please read the description section.
you're funny....
It is a bad idea to have a cooktop with wifi. Someone can hack your cooktop and it is dangerous.
The cooktop can only report that it’s on or off, that’s it, nothing else, let them hack away.
For the lof of God! Steady the camera! I get sea sick watching the camera bob and weave. Seriously!
Samsung is garbage don't waste your money trust me my fridge is junk and so is this cooktop.
