In November of 2017, Joel Korte (Owner / Chase Bliss) traveled with Knobs (of Knobs demos fame) to England to test out a new effects pedal prototype called Thermae. They visited friends, a world-renowned recording studio, and the best preserved Roman-era bathhouse on the planet.

I’ve only just started using a hand full of chase bliss pedals after playing since 1978 and have to say, I wish I’d found them sooner. “You don’t have to think about them but you can do if you want !” What a superb philosophy!
And then you see a little movie like this and it dawns on me why. This man Joel is one in a million. Next level genius and all around wonderful mind!

Maybe people who normally like flangers don't enjoy the CBA take on the effect so much, but then there are people like me - crazy trombonists and who knows what other kinds of creatures - who just LOVE the Spectre! Joel, your pedals are amazing and your videos (being smart use for your marketing dollars or not...) make all of your products and everything about your company feel so adorable :)

For my birthday I was gonna go for the original Total Recall, went to Effect Factory (Paris) and tried it out, beautiful thing. I knew I shouldn't, but I gave a shot to the Thermae, and one second later I was calling myself names while handing my credit card to the guy (sweet shop by the way, passionate guys). I want to thank Chase Bliss Audio and especially Joel Korte, this thing is just insane I can mess around for hours on my Tele on a day like these just by ramping the LFO and making that chip sing like a bird. It is an insane tool for creativity.
I think I can safely say this is the best video I've seen. It really is something else.

Guys, I just love what you do and how you do it! - you're the reason I want to visit the US for the first time in my life - to meet you in person!!! Already wrote to Knobs in a comment he's the one who turned me to pedals and Chase Bliss with the Tonal Recall review! And let me say just this: good spent advert money, Joel (eye liner included!)!!!! People who dig your pedals will dig the promo and enjoy it at least as much as the pedals!

It's taken me four years to get a hold of this pedal and it's finally happened today. Can't wait to play it.
I think the problem is that Knobs is blurry, which is extra scary to me. There's an out-of-focus Canadian roaming the countryside. Run, he's fuzzy, get outta here.
It's just for legal reasons, this video would be banned if he didn't blur his knob's out.

This might be my favorite CBA pedal yet. Eventide Pitch Factor has been the irreplaceable, all on it’s own, pitch mod pedal for YEARS!! It can do four different delay lines at once, but I usually only go fo two. This is a must buy.

I love how when the pedal is doing the pitch shifting, thijg it kind of rounds out the pitch change in such a cool way up and sometimes it does it a little late or I should say has a little bit of a shuffle, which is so pleasing to the ear and not even gonna be getting about the delay tone that’s just ridiculously good. Thanks, Joel. Just bought one yesterday.

in response to joel’s comments on spectre: i historically have never liked flanging and i own a spectre because it doesn’t do flanger stuff. i think CBA is covering the coolest ground in the pedal realm right now and whenever i gush to other musicians about chase bliss, i always make sure to add ‘well - the pedal doesn’t do what it says on the box’. thank you joel and CBA for all of the inspiration and creativity

I grew up in bath where my mum actally worked at Real World so this video made me homesick -in a good way heehee ;-) On a serious note I need this pedal in mylife! SO COOL!!! :-) Last thing I'll say is I think your a super creatiive genius Joel, and I can't wait to own all these pedals! :-)

I paid for the flanger! Still haven't quite figured it out, but the Knobs demo was so beautiful I had to have it. So, take that for whatever it means.

A Martin solid-body? All those other wonderful vintage pieces and you chose a *Martin* solid-body? And played it in a bathrobe? Therapy is seriously called for, Joel.
But more seriously, looks like a wonderful trip. Very different than the one my wife and her friend took to Bath, in pursuit of Jane Austen landmarks. Being in the same room with yourself and David Rainger would have been awesome. I've traded a few notes with him, and the two of you are equally sweet, enthusiastic, and imaginative.
Mark I love that guitar! I actually ended up buying it, haha! It was tough to pass up some of the other stuff but my two requirements were humbuckers (to mitigate any potential weird power stuff in the bathhouse) and to have a vibe that felt as consistent as possible with that ancient vibe. For some reason that one felt right. And for some reason once you play a guitar in a bathhouse you can’t live without it. I’d love to hang out with you and David in the same room one day. He’s one of my favorites in the industry for sure.

Do Noise that actually isn’t a bug, as I’m manually scrolling through some intervals there... (one of my fav things to do with it) but back then you’d kind of have to mess with the prototype for a while to kind of “wake it up” so that’s what I was doing
