You are the best I've ever seen. Everyone else talks on and on and on, and many times the video is only half of the process. I love how you explain it all and speed up the video so we are not watching you talk for hours just to hear yourself. The music is enjoyable too :)

    • @ns2443
      @ns2443 Před 4 lety +2

True. I agree completely. I remember back when I was new and hesitant, I watched so many videos just to be able to see them actually apply the paint in real time, but nary a video did I find. All that the incessant talking did was to turn me off. So I took the risk and jumped right in. Completed two pieces but didn't find community to share what I did.
I like it here. Katcha really makes it a fun and worthwhile art and not all about the products and brands used but more about the outcome and finished masterpiece.

Kacha, How do I love you? Let me count the ways:
1.Videos are on point, to the point, stay on point.
    2. Videos do not take up half my evening to watch.
    3. You do not beg for hearts and kisses.
    4. You do not promote your business.
    5. You do not chatter on about your family members and other things in your life.
    6. You do not "team up" with other idiots for "paint sessions."
    7. The speed filming is HEAVEN, SHEER HEAVEN.
    8. Not a brush stroke here and one there and three minutes of dialogue there....ahhhh so nice!
There's gotta be more but you are the role model for the rest. You are the best

My neighbor was moving and gave me a cabinet similar to this. I envisioned it in red and just discovered this video. I picked up red chalk paint last weekend which was on clearance at Michael's. Talk about perfect timing! And i love the dark wash effect - it helps to tone down the red. Def going to give this a try! Love your videos Kacha!

Hi Kacha, I absolutely love this piece. I’ve used almost every color that Waverly makes, I love their price, however I’m not crazy about their wax it did peel the paint for me as well and I had to go back and touch up, so now I always prefer to use water based Polyurethane in satin finish as a top coat. Maybe I’ll give their wax a second chance. Thanks for your videos, I love how you just get to the point. No blah, blah, blah

Same here, I hate their wax for large pieces. It gives more of a plastic look instead of the velvety look of soft waxes. But I do like it for small pieces such as lamps and picture frames.

Thank you so much for all the help. I love this look especially with red, but I have trouble with dark wax and my husband hates the smell of varnish in our house. I used Waverly Chalk Paint for everything, it’s great and cheap. I also appreciate showing me how to use the Waverly Liquid Wax the right way. Your project turned out beautiful... very impressive. After practicing on some smaller projects of mine, I will attempt my cabinets this winter. I’ll subscribe and see if you did a tutorial on your cabinets. Thanks again.
I just realized I already subscribed to you. I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you. You are the best! The things you do with furniture, etc.is amazing. I used your advise on some mirrors you painted on a clock, and it turned out great.

I love your videos. You are awesome and so inspiring. I have been wanting to do this for a long time, but everyone I've talked to has made it so complicated. I came across one of your videos and in one night watched a ton of them. One week later I finished my first piece (a pretty good sized jewelry cabinet I found at a garage sale for $10), and my daughter loves it! She is using it to store her makeup. I jumped right in because I was so inspired by you and your videos. I'm trying my second piece next week, an old china cabinet with great lines. I want to do it like the black and white dry brush credenza you did on another video. That was gorgeous! Thank you for your inspiration! I look forward to more videos. ☺️

Hi Kacha... love your video and I'm now going to copy your process on my kitchen cabinets. I have a couple of questions since I'm new to doing this. 1) should I take the cabinet doors off to paint, or should I just do it all while connected? 2) If I do the whole process with the brackets/hinges on, will they come out the same color as the piece, or should I remove them all and spray paint them before putting them back on? 3) Since this will be done in a kitchen, after using the wax, will the cabinets be washable and durable, or should I use a different sealer/ top coat such as a water based Polyurethane satin finish like another fan suggested?

Maria Grande hi Maria! I’ll give you a much easier alternative which is made for kitchen cabinets and will give you the exact same look as this! It’s by rustoleum and it’s called transformations for kitchen cabinets. The kit comes with everything you need for the job in one box, it’s a available at Home Depot. In the box you’ll see all the variations they have but one of them is the same red I used and comes with a glaze to give this exact same look. And yes I would remove the cabinets and paint the hinges whatever color you choose. Also clean everything well before starting!

I would love to see this in white and black just to see what it would look like. I want to redo my 24 year old bedroom set and I’m trying to find exactly what I want!!!
