How to prime fuel system?
Does the 2012 chevy 2500hd gas 6.0 have a fuel filter to change or is it in the gas tank?
Thanks my frnd! "LoVe itt!!" 🤜🏽🤛🏾
I wish my filter look like that. I have that stupid quick connect on my filter which I am going to change over.
Hey i noticed the battery light came on the message center when you cranked it up. I8s that a normal message because i get it every time i start my 02 after sitting for a day or 2.
It should come on while cranking, however go out as the engine starts up...
Do It Yourself Bri alright, im glad to hear that. Been thinking about getting battery tested or a new one. thanks for the info
It's easy to understand when to change the filter based on the owner's manual but what if you buy a new car and you don't know when it was last changed? Like, should you change everything, coolant, fuel filter, oil change? If the car was running ok and whatnot
Good Question... I recommend taking a sample of each one of the fluids and compare to what the fluid looks like compared to new fluid... Lightly discolored is okay, however if the fluid is severely discolored than its probably safe to change it... As far as the fuel filter its a little harder to say, take a look at the fuel filter and check to see if it looks really old, change it, if it looks shiny then its probably ok to leave it.
Yeah, I do check the coolant color and grit that's a good indication. But things that you can't see, I guess like you said you just look at the part.
I always use a 5/8 flare nut wrench with the 20mm wrench.A very plugged up fuel filter is one cause of a fuel pump failure. Some 2004 GMs don't have a fuel filter, seen this with a 2004 GMC Savanna van.Amazon is going to be cut off by Dorman sometime.Dorman is not liking that they are not selling their products at Dorman's prices.Found this out from an Auto Value auto parts store rep last week,he received a notice from Dorman and it shown Amazon on the list.
Good advice....
hard to drop a client that sells that much volume as a sales rep believe me
You are correct... Never use an open end wrench on a fuel line! Eventually you will regret it. Flare nut wrench... Always!
That's the old Amazon. The latest iteration of Amazon sells NOTHING BUT FAKE PRODUCTS or CHEAP CHINESE KNOCKOFFS that are either made incorrectly or made with cheap parts that will fail in less than a month!
I like getting these fuel filters to change at work. It allows me to dust of the 20mm wrench👍🏻
Yes as a professional mechanic, I know what you mean...
Wouldn't it be a good idea to use a 16 mm line wrench on the fuel line side to prevent the chance of rounding the nut off
yes. absolutely
I agree, if you have one..
What if my filter is not under the frame rail? Would it be in the tank?
Some models have it in the tank
Where is the fuel filter on the 2018 2500HD 6.0 gas models?
I couldn't find mine anywhere I have a 2006 Chevy suburban base model and I'm not finding it
I am having a hard time finding filter info for my 2007 Silverado Classic. I find a lot of my truck parts that fit a 2006, and have not looked on my rail to see if there is a filter in the place where your video shows it. Got any clue? thnx
99-07 classic use the same filter
Where is the filter for a 06 located
People are telling me that for my VIN number on an 07 classic that it is a non-serviceable fuel filter?
@@hjttjhyeah but where the heck is that thing ? Lol
@@kentsmith4439 I just bought a 2006 2wd, and I'm guessing it is in the fuel tank. I have a suspicion that external fuel filters on 2006's are on 4WD 1500's only.
1500 chevy silverado 2006 2wd no filter gasolina
I was about to go and buy mine but it looks like I don't have one
Mine it's a 2006 2500hd
What kind of spray do i need
El cuh spray
Does this same location apply to the 2005? I was told it was in the the gas tank.
Do you know, I got the same problem
@@Kelvin_-qs3uz Me too. Anybody figure it out? I'm in a 2WD 04 4.8 single cab, long bed. It is not on the frame rail.
@@charliemountain82 bro did u firgure it out, plz help , rlly don’t want to change my pump and spend over 300 , if it’s just the filter
@@Kelvin_-qs3uzman I’m having the same problem lmao
Video should say 2003 and older...2004 and up have in tank filters.
That's only true on the newer body style and or the 1500 models... There are very few made but the last year classic body style 2500hd and 3500 models made in 2007 have external fuel filters.
Okay been told the filter is in the tank in n my beast....can't see no filter on the frame... wtf
Heads up: There are 2 different fuel filters for a 2006. Chevy changed the system half way through 2006. What you are seeing here is what is needed for the first half of the year. The newer filter is much different. And harder to change.
Hey I got a 06 silverado 1500 5.3 ext cab 4x4 cant find the fuel filter on it I looked under the diver door
Is it inside the tank?
How come I can’t find my fuel filter ???? I don’t see it on the frame could it be somewhere else ? Lol
The 2005 Avalanche does not have an inline fuel filter
Yes it does mine does 2003 its under the driver side looks just like the one on this video
Maybe modify title to say "most 2006 & older" I have a 2005 Sierra 1500 5.3 vin T SLE and the fuel filter is in the tank.
Yeah that would probably be a good thing to change, I have found only the 2500hd and 3500 in those later years have external filters, I want to say the 1500 models stopped in 02?
I’m not sure when. What I have noticed in my part of the world (So California) is that there tends to be more 1500s than other models. As these trucks get up in mileage with the years, I suspect that more maintenance will be given and folks will be looking at videos like yours to conduct those services.. I did. Unfortunately, in my case I ordered a fuel filter on line which I can’t return now for full credit without paying return shipping.
Exactly 💯
You should be using a flare nut wrench...wtf
I have no idea why they call them rubber gloves
Maybe one more step - disconnect negative on your battery to prevent any spark issues.
My 2004 5.3 silverado , has not fuel filter There, and I could not find it, wtf?
@JUNIOR SOTO LLAMAS as I understand it, depending on where it was manufactured a lot of 04s don’t have fuel filters.
That's the only time you'll ever need a 20 mm wrench
It's crazy about manufacturing companies it's always the people who don't work on the who design the actual stuff that goes into making them
Never use an open end wrench on a fuel line! Eventually you will regret it. Use a flare nut wrench... Always!
eventually is right. someday
Yeah gotta love all these die hard mechanics in the comment section
Purchase a super expensive wrench to remove something you probably won’t touch for another 100k miles lol
You should put anti seize on the threads too since it’s a metal on metal connection to protect against corrosion
Not worry about a silly wrench
You can buy a set of flare nut wrenches at harbor freight for about 10 bucks.
2005 and older. 2006 is in the fuel tank.
My 04 doesn't have it on the frame rail unless its between the tank and the frame, behind the shroud.
Fuel filter for 2006 Silverado is in the Tank , Don't buy an inline filter .
This has nothing to do with what I was searching for.... its not a 2006
there is no such thing as a 8.1l gas engine ! and then you claim a 2006 and up but you use a 2002/. you are so full of crap!
Yes, there is an 8.L gasoline engine.
The title says 2006 and older
There is a 8l engine lmao dumb ass
Yes, I have the 2002 8.1L V8 gas engine, do some research!!!
I own one in a 2005 2500HD GMT800 chassis. I believe it was still available in the 2007 GMT800. I know you could still get an 8.1L in 06.
Hello. Where is the gas fuel filter for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500hd?? Thx
It's In the fuel tank. Terrible
