Am I the only one that gets more spooked by Simon's reactions that the actual scares? Also, it's impressive what the team behind the map managed to do with command blocks and Minecraft, but! The story is so confusing and not satisfying.
I just think its about a stressed dude who was on meds passing out and getting locked in a dark office building getting paranoid and killing himself because he is already mentally unstable hence the meds. Some sort of schizophrenia thing.
So the beginning establishes that this guy hallucinates and the morning at the office shows us that he's very stressed and working on a horror movie. Then he sleeps through the entire workday, almost definitely costing him his job. He wakes up to flashing lights and an evacuated office, signs of an earthquake. He heads for the elevator but it's stuck on his floor. When he gets on, he hallucinates it falling, blacks out, and stumbles off it into the broom closet. He wanders dazed through the office, hallucinating spooks from the horror movie, and finds his way into an archive room. As he makes his way to the broken window, another earthquake happens. Presumably, he blacks out, hallucinates jumping out the window, and stumbles into and through a parking garage, where he recovers. We see more signs of a severe earthquake in the garage. There, he hallucinates having to evade spooks and makes his way to the top of the building. On the roof, thanks to a drug-addled misinterpretation of a series of earthquakes, the guy thinks he's being pursued and, madly, takes his own life to evade his fears. That's about it. Hallucinations and earthquakes. Confusing, unsatisfying, but interesting. Especially in its use of command blocks.
Ethan I still find the production value pretty high for a Minecraft story. I am impressed with it as a showcase of the creators skills. The only thing in the story I’m not quite sure about is the dead Janitor. Was there a dead janitor? Did the protagonist kill him while he was blacked out?
@@crispybacon9633 I don't know why you got offended. Although knowing how to play the game can cetaintly affect the experience, failing and dying multiple times is not an intended part of the story.

It would have been better if it ended like Tom expected it to, or something more along the supernatural lines. It also didn't help that the 'protagonist' sounded like a 19 year old, but that's just personal preference I guess. lol
Interesting, I'll have to look into those. I'd say it's hard to imagine how you could complete the game different ways given the seemingly "linear?" map, but considering how much of these videos is editted/skipped, that wouldn't be surprising. lol
@@dracoinsanity there was the story options or the endings are randomised. It sounds like there may be a fourth but I'm not sure. I only know of three confirmed endings. They all do seem a bit anticlimactic however.
I have to assume what they are looking at is like 10x Darker than what we see. Otherwise I am very disappointed at how long it took for them to find the vent, switch and card reader.

Gameplay wise, it was just a walking simulator until you reached the file room in which you could *actually* die, but the mechanics of surviving the room aren't explained at all, thus making tedious to get through; the underground segment was interesting as it looked like the standard babby's first horror game hidey-from-murdery-monster tutorial- And then it just ends. No real plot established, no explanations, no idea of what actually transpires within the story. I'm just left wanting more from it. Well- At least you made it entertaining to watch, so uh, hopefully the next series has more meat to it.
This person is obviously excellent at resource pack tricks and command blocks, now they just need an idea of what makes something horror Or a good narrative in general

People have many valid complaints about the plot. I'm just questioning why the basic employee floor plan had an explanation of how to turn on and off the power but the janitor had nothing on him notifying him of the power control changes.

It was basically Inception. The character kept 'dying' then waking up elsewhere.... so they jumped to their death yet again.
