I can 100% see where he is coming from with the no-audience shift because zoom makes me feel super uncomfortable and it's nice to do my work without an office/coworkers observing. Not to mention the impact on my awareness and current lack thereof in terms of how others react to me or whatever other distractions occur any given day. I’m not a shut in or anything lol but I also have found it hard to go back to the original formats after the more direct intimate one. The only show which isn’t quite the same ,since it’s once a week, that I have no issue continue to enjoy, is last week tonight. @@Okiedoritos I feel that Oliver had to get back into a room with an audience as he started going off on tangents that made his show hard to follow. Noah thrived better with no audience and made his Daily Show unique from Stewart's version. Stewart's new show shows why Stewart had to leave when he left; he can not deliver his unique taking shots at both sides approach and shows his political leanings too much for fans of his era of the Daily Show. So, in summary, I'm split 50/50 on this but prefer Noah's approach with how his comedy works. Stephen dropped a “yall,” I feel blessed

I have noticed Stephen dropping the 'y'all' (translation: 'you all', or 'all of you'ns') a lot since being back with an audience. When Andie McDowell was on, it happened a lot between them, but then, they are both South Carolinians.

Man, trying to find some kinda balance during Covid has been a process. Periods of isolation, awkwardness for me getting back into a less isolated social groove again... I've always been pretty socially awkward, lol. Man did it get really awkward!

I do think that non-live, wider-audience-focused shows are a new fronteir.....and those who master it, are future proofing their shows. The daily show is enroute to pulling it off 🔜

I think that Meyers, Colbert and Noah all managed it beautifully.
It was a very different, weird vibe but it worked... and helped to keep a lot of us at least partially sane.

Trevor is brave to try new recipes but if the cake doesn’t rise then the formula is wrong. Trevors interaction with his flock was what made his unscripted interactions so good. But I still love him !
