Excellent video! Very well explained.
Thank you for your feedback
I have 18 years of SCM experience in the areas of Inventory management, Procurement and Warehousing in an Oil and Gas sector. I never had any formal SCM designations and eventually planned to upgrade myself with some ASCM courses.
I’ve recently passed both CSCP and CPIM and planning to go through the remainder two as well. It’s definitely intense and took me solid 6 months to pass the first two. I’m guessing the remainder two be another 6 months but well worth the time spent on these. They do get very very expensive though.
Your journey is inspiring, Omer. I'm glad you have taken the CSCP and CPIM. I plan to take more of the ASCM certifications as well.
I wish you all the best in your endeavours. Thanks for your comment.
@@PKBINspire I wish the same for you brother.

I am an HR but want to switch my career to supply chain. I have interest in the field and see long term growth & success going down this path. My friend recommended CSCP course as a beginner from ASCM. Can you please guide if I am making a right move in my career? I want to be successful in an industry which doesn't get impacted by recession & current layoffs happening in market. I am scared that what if being a 30 year old I spend 2 years in this and eventually won't earn anything out of it? I am based out of Toronto and honestly I have no leads or references in the industry to go after.
Hello Namrata,
I can understand the uncertainty that comes with career change. I too initially trained in Building Technology but made a switch into Pharmaceutical Supply Chain.
The fear of the unknown can be daunting but I would say to go with your conviction. Truth is, no profession is immune to the impact of recessions etc A lot depends on how quickly you are able to adapt to the changes scenes in the industry.
So long as you are prepared to put in the work and study, the CSCP would be great for you.
For beginners which body is best APICS or IPSCMI to get into supply chain career because i from sales planning to do course i am confused in these two bodies which is best to get to start my career in that
Hello.
I do not know much about IPSCMI so I can only speak to APICS certifications. I know, for sure, that the American Purchasing and Inventory Management Society has quite a reputable standing across industry players, hence professionals with APICS certifications can negotiate better salaries.
With APICS, you can additionally choose to become a member of the ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management), which gives you discounts on CPDs (continuous professional development courses) on top of discounts for the main certifications.
I hope this helps.
I am currently a finished goods planner-planning finished goods from our Production/packing sites to our second distributors who then deliver to the final distributor who then has direct interaction with the end consumer. Would you advise me to do a CPIM certificate to advance in my career? I dont have a qualification in Supply Chain but have 2 year working experience as a planner.
You input will be highly appreciated
Thanks for your question.
First of all, the APICS certifications do not require priority qualification. Your work experience helps but is not a prerequisite.
Given that your role description described Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), I'll suggest you do CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution). The CLTD fits the profile you described.
I hope this helps.
I wanted to have a transition from IT field into the supply chain world. I am confused about which certification should I pursue that will help me in finding jobs.
Thanks
Hello,
Transition can be daunting and confusing.
From my perspective, the APICS certifications are attainable whether or not you have a background in Supply Chain.
The certifications are however tailored to your area of interest within Supply Chain: i.e., Production, Inventory Mgt, Logistics, Distribution, E2E Supply chain mgt.
Here's how to approach this.
1. Identify a specific area within Supply Chain you would want to developed your competencies in.
2. Choose a certification pathway as follows;
a.Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD certification)
b. Supply Chain Transformation (CTSC)
c. Planning & Inventory Management (CPIM)
d. End-to-end Supply Chain Management (CSCP)
I hope this helps
Hi bro, am SC consultant and now interested in CTSC , new one. But u didnt explain its relevancy and how its different then rest? Can i get some guidance on that.
Appreciated thanks
Sure. The Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC) mainly focuses on Supply Chain Transformation for candidates. This means you will introduced to models and tools that will equip you to strategically audit a supply chain and design and deploy transformation and optimizations.
CTSC has become critically important especially due to disruptions like the pandemic that have led to unforeseen risks in the supply chains across multiple industries. With CTSC, you will be the person to map out your supply chain, identify risks and inefficiencies, and then lead the transformation process.
Of course, there are other salient topics in the CTSC course, but supply chain Transformation is at the core.
I hope this helps.
@@PKBINspire thanks. Its new so lets see if i can convince my company to pay for it. Thanks alot
I’m logistics management student and planning to take the CSCP would it benefit me in Middle East?
If you are studying Logistics Management, I think the Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) would be more appropriate for you.
Hello Brother! I really love your videos and your videos are very informative. I have a question for you: From where to study for CSCP?
Thank you very much for making time to watch my videos. The materials can purchased from www.ascm.org. Additionally, you can find some good tips on how to study from mobile apps. The best source is the ASCM website.
I hope this helps.
Currently working in supply planning looking for CPIM
Wishing you all the best. CPIM is really good.
