    I am CSCP, CPIM, CLTD and CTSC certified and would like to add one update to this wonderful video of yours. Great effort!
    Since the upload of this video, CPIM no longer requires two exam but now its only 1 exam to obtain the CPIM certification.

    I think I will work on trying to be a freight broker or freight agent, before I even think of this next level.
    I think sometimes being a foot soldier, will then give you a better idea of how things above you work.
    I've been a driver for decades, and now that older, I'm really looking more for a out of the truck, out of the warehouse type of job, and freight brokering more helps me accomplish that.
    When younger, sure, working for large corporation, rising up, cool...
    But now that older, nah, I'd rather make a living from home, brokering freight, but to each their own.

My friend recommended CSCP course as a beginner from ASCM. Can you please guide if I am making a right move in my career? I want to be successful in an industry which doesn't get impacted by recession & current layoffs happening in market. I am scared that what if being a 30 year old I spend 2 years in this and eventually won't earn anything out of it? I am based out of Toronto and honestly I have no leads or references in the industry to go after.

      The best one for you at this point in your career depends on what you want to do with the certification. If you are uncertain of what you want to do next, but certain you want to get certified, I would suggest the CSCP. The CSCP will give you a breadth of knowledge about global supply chains. The CPIM and CLTD will give a more focused depth of knowledge on specific supply chain topics. Getting the CSCP would cast a wide net to begin with. Later, if you are interested, you could niche down and get your CPIM and/or CLTD.

      Hi Muhammad Aman. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Your logistics background makes me inclined to suggest the CLTD. However, what you want to do next in your career is a bigger factor in selecting the right certification than what you have done in the past.
      The immediate benefits of preparing for and passing the certification exams is the knowledge you gain. That knowledge can begin adding value to you, your role and your company right away. An APICS certification can also play a part in a job change, promotion, increased salary and similar benefits. But these are a result of the additional knowledge and value you bring that compliments your education and experience.

      Hi Riham! Thanks for watching! Are you looking for a better job related to shipping or something else in logistics? If so, the CLTD is a great choice. I would encourage you to pursue your CLTD for the knowledge you will gain to help make better decisions for your team and company, rather than for your CV. You will get the most impact and value from the experience of studying and the certification if you approach it that way.

      Hi @Hm-xh7zq. Thanks for watching. The video focuses on the certifications themselves. APICS offers preparation courses specific to each certification. I did not use these to prepare. However, how long they take would depend on how much time you have to dedicate to completing them. I've seen people prepare in as little as 3 months and as long as a year or more.

    • @End2EndSupplyChain
      @End2EndSupplyChain  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Jaydeep! Thanks for watching and commenting. The decision of which is right for you is best driven by what you want to do and get out of being certified. For example, I chose CLTD because I wanted to be a leader in a logistics focused organization. CSCP and CPIM did not best align with that goal. What is your short-term goal for your supply chain career? Do you want to get experience in a few different areas, and possible lead a team with a broad supply chain focus? Or, do you want to focus on something more specific and get depth of experience in an area like materials management or manufacturing operations? The first scenario would be a great fit for CSCP; the second for CPIM.
      Also, many people get more than one certification. I have my CLTD, but I am also halfway through with my CPIM as a compliment based on the value I want to bring to my company and clients.

      The CSCP is worth considering, although certification specific to sourcing or quality assurance may be more useful. If it were me, I would start working in one of those two areas, then get a feel for which certification or other professional development opportunity is best for your near to mid-term career goals.

    • @pinklobelia2389
      @pinklobelia2389 Před 5 lety

      Thanks for your input. I am guaging that the CSCP may not be necessary for me. I talked to some people in my sourcing department who either have or pursued one of the APICS certification and they thought my masters was better and that the certifications covered broad topics.
