- The water level was down in the river enought that about 375' of this bar was open. Had to go missed on the first approach due to a goose in the landing area. Made several landings, with one using about 10 yards of water to stop in about 120'. You dont need a super cub to have this kind of fun!!

Great video, My Dad and I would go flying in a rented Cub. While I was flying he would kill the mags and say, "Don't change your mind under 500 feet". Bring back great memories! Thanks!
That’s awesome!! Hopefully my kids will remember the times I get to take them along as well!
Looks fun. Probably too short for a Maule, or maybe not. I was glad to see you hit a little splash on one of the landings. Made me feel better.
To the non flyer, this looks like the invisible pilot show. :-)
Great video
Enjoy your videos. I can't find anything like those sandbars down here in the central part of the state so I enjoy hitting the local (there are three within reasonable range, about to try a fourth a little further away) RC flying fields. And there are a few--wish there were more--grass strips to visit just for something different.
Nice!
The j3 and the super cub are the best planes ever. Not all pilots can handle this type of pipers. The j3 has no flaps and 90hp. But they are amaizing planes for short landing and take offs.
J3 was 65 horse originally. Super cub first models were 90 horse.
Nice flying
Thanks!
Nice job!! Alot of fun,,I pilot a rans courier and play the same games..lol
Love it..!!!
I ask, what is ur approach speed? Keep safe
Yep lots of fun! Not sure what my approach speed is, I’ll have to put the GPS feature back on the go pro. I typically just use a specific pitch attitude/AOA as the airspeed indicators are very inaccurate at higher AOA.
@akomara1 got ya,, iam still green enough I continously scan asi ,,but I do agree, not completely reliable.
What HP is your engine, and what was the landing and takeoff distances of that bar?
C85. Ground roll on takeoff is probably 175’ and about 150’ on landing
Good morning to all from SE. Louisiana 31 Aug 22.
Stock tires and Tail wheel ?? Good job
8.50 Dessers. But stock tailwheel.
what's the field elevation?
Pretty low, around 800’ and about 75 degrees. It was gusting to around 15 out of the south so the takeoff was with about a 5kt tailwind due to obstacles and mechanical turbulence taking off the other direction.
