Wow bro, the whole part about Noisia and going on forums to recreate sounds with Massive was honestly nostalgic 😂 I still remember like 9 years ago, finding Noisia with their songs Machine Gun and Split The Atom and then googling for hours to try and recreate their sounds 😅 i also remember hoping that maybe one day I would have enough money to own my very own copy of Massive so I wouldn't have to use Sytrus anymore lmao so funny how time changes people and artists

I started on DogsOnAcid as well, asking loads of questions about sound design. it was a great way to learn back in the day, it was almost like getting a mentor. i used to post tracks, asking for feedbacks there often. people weren't jaded about giving feedback back then, they'd gladly listen to your amateurish tracks and give advice. learned so much there. lots of big names that were dishing out feedback on there too. great times!

Datsik is what got me started in production lmao, it is insane to see such similarity in our starting points. I too was so taken by dubstep, dnb, trap, and instrumentals and couldnt find any tutorials back in the day. I remember when most of the tutorials on youtube were to "get massive and play around" lmaooo. What a time to be alive. Not to mention that computers weren't even close to the super machines we have today. How time flies fr.

Ever use an MPC? I love my live 2 and one of the ways I make my unique sound is it's air flavor pro plugin. It's a super customizable way to mimic old hardware sounds and also really dial in ton of effects old hardware has naturally

ur a inspo for my production drum sounds and approach. i love how you fit into certain genres while still sounding original and experimental- i feel a lot of experimental artists are experimental for the sake of being quirky rather than having fun
