- When creating I feel you should always push yourself. I had some wood bits and thought it would be a cool challenge to make a robot entirely from wood! No bits, no gum containers or recycled parts, just wood.
Be sure to check out Dan's work.

I hope you enjoy this DIY robot made entirely from wood!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

The fact that your channel hasnt blown up is a crime, my friend! And your wife has a great eye for color, that yellow was a great pairing with that light blue! Excellent work! God bless!
I feel like the tortoise and the hair. 😅
Slow and steady wins the race!😅
Thanks so much.
@@DRToysCreations absolutely! Also, this guy looks like a boxer.
Especially in some of these communities this channel can cross several different ones.
Gives off a cool "Incredibles" vibe
And who doesn’t love the Incredibles!😃
Thanks!
Brilliant ,, design, paint scheme.. everything. As a child I would have played with that ..
Awesome! Thanks.
Looks great. I could see this being in an old scifi movie.
Thanks
Great Robot Dave, looks like the type of robot that everyone looks at as being dumpy and basic then turns out to be a total badass hero, you're giving me ideas of what to do with all my wood offcuts.
Awesome! I love to hear that! Go make something awesome!😃
Love this build! The scratched edges and a clean surface gives a surprising effect. The fists are a funny addition
Thanks so much!
Robot doesn't even look like it's made out of wood. Loved watching the build. I love the paint job! The weathering looks fantastic! Great job!
Wow! Dave, I must say, this is probably my favorite Dr. Toys build. It gives me "Transformers Rumble" and "Pinocchio" vibes. I showed this to my pops (84) and it took him back to his childhood in the 40's in Mexico.
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing that! That makes me feel so happy to know a silly build I made brought back cool memories for someone! ❤️
I love the small BMW 507 „Elvis“ in the background.
AND you said „No lids will be used“ and then snuck one in as a glue carrier 😂
😂
Thanks
Man, I love your videos. I've been watching for years, and youbare one of the most positive, and interesting crafters on youtube.
Wow, thank you! I appreciate that! I just hope to inspire others to not be afraid to try, if it fails but you learn from it did you really fail?😃
The robot looks great! I like the color scheme and your construction and assembly were perfect. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you very much!
Fantastic! This turned out Awesome, Dave! I absolutely love this project. Great Fun! Let's keep it going, Brother!👊🤓🚀
Thanks! Will do!
This is a great looking retro style Robot , made from wood Dr Toys 🤖👍
Thank you very much!
Spectacular build. Turned out great. My wife and I love the color scheme.
Awesome! Thank you!
Very cool 👍👍
Thanks
I love the creativity on this one!
Yay, thank you!
Quite interesting, getting strong Toriyama vibes on that!
Thank!
We lost him too soon! 😢
You know what I like about your channel? You just delight in this stuff. ^-^ That's a great old school robot! I saved some 50+ year old colored wooden blocks from being trashed just for future robot purposes myself.
Thanks! When you do build it shoot me some pics on Instagram messenger if you have it. I would love to see!
I aspire to be as good as you someday. Incredible what comes out of your brain.
Wow, thanks!🙏
I think this is my favorite build from your channel! It just all came together so nicely. Lovely work! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much! This was definitely a fun one!
Great work as always! I will say, blues like that always make me think of the Ford GT. I probably would have done an orange where the yellow is, although the yellow does look great also!
I totally know what you’re talking about and that thought crossed my mind but when my wife said to use a soft yellow I have to go with that!😅
Thanks!
I like this guy and his Channel. As a Gunpla modeler I just appreciate the creativity and his passion to make things.
Thanks!
Worked out really cool.
Thanks!
That is sweet!!! The laser cutter is such a neat tool, it opens up so many options for creativity!
Totally!
I do (mediocre) wood working for my custom trains so I was ecstatic to see this video! Great work, and the paint job at the end was brilliant! You 100% got that tin toy look!
Thank you very much!
I'm absolutely loving your robots! I hope to see many more!
More to come!😃
Love it. Really like the paint scheme.
Thanks a bunch!
Challenging ourselves is how we learn i think, as artists. I love the project, it really has that "vinyl toy" vibe to it especially thanks to the popping colors and simple blocky design. I've recently started dabbling into laser cutting as well as the STEM center where i teach has a giant one and those machines are amazing. It also lead me to learn using Inkscape as well for the designs and there is huge potential for growth in this mixed-media approach for us makers.
I agree, there are so many amazing tools out there for us as artists to learn! I wanna try them all!😅
Thanks 🙏
Great build! I’ve seen a lot of wood robots, but not something this detailed with so many nice angles and shapes.
Thank you very much!
Worked Great
Thanks
I love this, absolutely love it.
Thanks!
Really cool project with wood!!! Love the robot 🤖 ❤
Thank you 🤗
@@DRToysCreations you are welcome 🤗
Wow! Your chipping really made it perfect!
Thank you!🙏
I love everything about this one Dave, It may top my previous favorites of yours... The Icebreakers bot and the Wall-E were previously tied but the atheistic of this bot is just fantastic.
😮Wow!!! Than you so much!
I totally wasn’t expecting that! So cool!
Happy to bring a little joy and inspiration into your day!
Thanks again!
Dave, your presentation style is so relaxing it’s like having a lovely warm bath. An interesting juxtaposition to how artistically energised I feel when I see what and how you create. Thank you, a cracking build.
Thanks so much! I appreciate that. ❤️
That robot is so sick!!!
Thanks!
I really like how this turned out...great work🎉🎉
Thank you! 😊
I love robots and I love creating things with wood. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing this one with us. :)
Thanks for watching!
When I first seen you were making a robot 🤖 out of wood it made think of the Futurama episode when Bender went to that island 🏝️ with all the obsolete robots and transformed his metal body into a wooden one, but when I seen the finished product here, WOW!!!
You really did a hell of a great job making some blocks of wood look like an authentic antique tin Japanese toy. Super Cool, My Friend. You have that paint chipping technique down pat.
Another Great Job!!!
👍👍👍
Sinclair 2K with no memory.😂
I kinda wanna make w wooden Bender now!😂
Thanks!
The bot turned out great.
Thanks!
Great build! 👍🏾
Glad you like it!
Awesome wooden robot you created here Dave! I love the look of this guy, makes me think he was in "Love, Death & Robots".
Restricting yourself to only one material in a build can challenge yourself to be very inventive/creative in new ways. Excellent job sir, keep on keeping on!! 👍👍
I can totally see that! LOL
Definitely challenging but so much fun.
Thanks so much
Muy buen diseño de robot, me encanta!
Thanks so much!
I loved! Great job!
Yay! Thank you!
Love Your Channel Bro You Really Inspire Me
Thank you, I love to hear that I can be a small part of inspiring others!
Excellent video and an amazing robot! Nice Job!!!
Thank you very much!
Wow! This robot looks more like metal than wood. It's cute and cool,🤖👍 like the one in the Japanese anime "Laputa"! The design is intricate and the distressed paint is nice. It's a wooden robot that my father made for me when I was a child.🤖
I love Laputa! It’s hanks so much!
So cool, as usual!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
I really like the proportions of this badboy. It has the exaggerated poise of an expensive custom vinyl toy. Ashley Wood [3A] did some chonky-boi robots a bit like this.
Awesome! Thanks.🙏
Love it! So inspiring.
Excellent build very cool.
Thanks 🙏
Your wife needs to pick my paint schemes too 😂😂
Really inspiring project! I'll have to get some wood scraps out
It helps that she has her Masters degree in art.😂
@@DRToysCreations your family is so creative!
I know you glued this up already, but you could potentially do a silicon mold off this and make some resin casts? Be pretty sweet to have multiples to do different versions of!
Stay tuned. I may have something in the works.😅
It came out nice, I really like how you did the hands, but the feet seemed just a tad bit too small for the size of the rest of him.
I could see them being a little chunkier. The legs are so skinny I went back and forth on that. I was just happy it stood up on its own. 😅
Great work! I wish you had been my shop teacher in junior high. I had the stereotypical one who was missing a finger and all we made was a thick clipboard covered in 20 coats of shellac. Would've been great spending the semester making one of your robots.
Your description of the shop teacher is amazing!😅
I never got to do wood shop at my school… they didn’t even have art. Oh well, I turned out ok!😂
Thanks so much!
@@DRToysCreations A school without art.. thats a crime! 😯
@@BodegaJoesCustomStudio Fortunately for me my mom was a self taught artist (like, really good artist) and at the age of 13 she taught me the principles of form, value, perspective ect... I actually feel really lucky because I was kinda a dummy in all subjects but art was my saving grace. I've been a graphic designer as my day job for the last 25 years! : )
@@DRToysCreations That's so cool to hear. Thank God for moms like that, so instrumental in encouraging and nurturing our artistic journeys. I can totally relate.
brilliant. i'm curious as to what could be made, with something like broken tinker toys and glue? i haven't found any in a while, i was thinking about, the last time i did and they where the old wooden ones.
I remember as a kid playing with those at my grandpa’s house. I also remember they were in his liquor cabinet!😂😂😂
When I was 11 years old in 1992 I used to make "Transformers" (a tank sort of transformers robot) ❤
I love that!
@@DRToysCreations was quite easy because the tracks been splitting in two uneven halves, short parts arms and longer legs...I exaggerated by saying "it was easy" it wasn't because I had only a knife and a hacksaw 😅
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks!
Very To original
Thanks
Wood working shop hey DAVE.
Sign me up!😂
Thanks

Hey Dr.Toys, love your robot and your work. You ever think about building a Tonk? Love to see you build one👏
@billmakingstuff
That would be fun. I love Bill Making Stuff! He’s great! Not sure about the tp roll cat though!😂
wow, this was a real fun video =) had been thinking about how creators should go about only using wood. (^^)b Wonderful!
Glad you liked it!
