Owen is a character I love, but I can't argue that he gets way too much screen time for what he's worth.
I was okay with him winning in season one, he was at his most likeable, his most charming, and he had a lot of genuine heart throughout the season. During the final four in season one, he was the heart and soul of the group, he actually tried to bring everyone else, who all had beef with each other, together when things were rough. But after time, it seems like the writers miss the point of Owen entirely.
In season two, they scrapped most of his charm and just made his character, the fat guy who eats and farts whenever he's on screen. I would've minded this, as long as he would've gotten booted early, but he didn't. Instead he lasted 13 episodes until he gets voted out, which is way too far if you ask me, and then he comes back only tp add nothing at all.
World Tour Owen is good, but I feel like you could eliminate him earlier and replace his role with someone else like Tyler, who much more deserved a post merge spot since he got eliminated so early in season one.
So yeah, I like Owen, but they seriously needed to dial this man back. There were other comedic relief characters that deserved a lot more than what he got, especially in season three and even moreso in season 2.

Owen is one of my favorite characters but i agree with almost all the points in this video, Owen in Action wasn’t very good at all in my opinion, but i feel that Owen doesn’t really need an arc focusing on him, what I mean by this is in season 3 of TDI Duncan and Alejandro we’re trying to sway Owen onto there side and it was hilarious, in season 7 when Noah was having his arc with the Sisters Owen was hilarious because he bounced of Noah and Emma ( Two Pessimists ) incredibly. His dynamic with Kitty was also great as well. To me for Owen to be a great character (Past season 1) he needs a partner to bounce off of. Owen will always be great for me, not because of the way i saw him as a kid but how he is in the show. Owen imo doesn’t need an arc it would feel different for his character, would I enjoy an arc for Owen? Most definitely, but I don’t feel he needs one.

World tour I have such a love-hate relationship with. First time I watched it I did not really like it. The Duncan Gwen and Courtney thing was awful and there is so much character derailment. Duncan and Owen should not have made the merge after they had both been finalists in the past seasons. We knew that they weren't going to win again so why keep them around that long? Tyler and Noah should have made the merge instead of Duncan and Owen.. I do love Owen but I will agree that he did progressively get worse and worse every season. He just overstayed his welcome and although I love him as a character I would love him more if he wasnt constantly shoved in our faces.

Owen is kinda a back and forth for me. I love him sometimes, other times I just don't care. Island, RR, and his guest appearance in the reboot are all really enjoyable to me. I didn't mind him in World Tour and it felt like he went when he should have imo but I do agree he didn't have to come back in Action. Action was the only season I can't name too many good moments with him. Even World Tour has I See London and a couple of his singing moments, but Action just has the first few episodes and then he feels pointless or just kinda there after that.

I swear people keep sleeping on Owen in season one. He was a beast in challenges. He completed the final dive in episode 2, dominated in the dodgeball challenge in episode 4, was the only player on his team who actually did the objective of the Paintball deer hunter challenge, made final 4 in Chef's Bootcamp challenge, and won over 20 freebies in the dares challenge in episode 25. Also he got along with just about everyone and was able to stay away from drama, making him fly under the radar.

Owen is a character I have always liked pretty well over the years. Never a favorite but pretty alright, enjoyable and funny.
But seeing this? Yeah, I definitely get it and think you're valid. It is a shame that after the first season he did kinda stagnate.

I haft to agree with most of what you said but I guess it never bothered me as much. I do think he was pretty funny in world tour but yeah I think he was a bit of a screen hog throughout the show. It does still feel strange he wasn’t in Allstars but that season should have been just a second season with the revenge cast in my opinion because they needed to get the development. And if they are bringing back characters the ones you mentioned like DJ Harold leshawna, great character who deserves more screen time would have been my choices over the ones we have seen a ton of.

Ok because finally someone says it because I literally can’t with him. The way that he got away with so much shit, like in TDI episode 10 when he’s the one who ate all their food but still suggests Beth for the elimination?? And literally all throughout season 1 he had no strategy either besides like joining the guys alliance. He honestly would be really boring and unfunny to watch a lot. I also hate hate HATE when he rejoins total drama action and that the writers chose to bring him back out of all the males. It’s so ridiculous that it’s the same two guys for the final two in Island and action. I would probably say world tour was the season where I tolerated him the most but I did hate how he listened to Noah in breaking up with Izzy for literally no reason and then sings a sad song about why he ever let her go when SHE was the one who dumped him. Overall though in world tour he also made it way farther than he should have and instead of Noah being out in episode 13 it clearly should’ve been Owen because Owen already had won a season and made it this far but Noah never had any of that so why did they eliminate Noah instead of Owen? It will truly never make sense to me, especially because the Alejandro and Noah dynamic was just starting to get good

I remember first watching Total Drama Island and screaming that he won in the official version. I can’t believe he was chosen to make it to the finale over Leshawna, Lindsay, Duncan, even Heather. I don’t necessarily dislike Owen but to me, the only thing I liked was the Noah and Owen friendship but the fact he made it so far in every season instead of many other characters with a lot of potential, he does not need to make it so far every single season.

I love Owen in Island and Ridonculous Race, I liked him in World Tour because of his moments and friendship with Noah, but he should’ve left in the Area 51 episode, and Action I’m mixed on him because some jokes were funny but also not and I was fine with him leaving pre-merge, but omg why did he come back at the final 5 and the plot wasn’t even that good😭
