I compare going by public transit using streetcars and the subway, going by bicycle, and going on foot. I talk about how long each form of transportation would take and how much each one would cost.
This video teaches English to beginners entirely in English, using a natural approach of listening to comprehensible input. I use drawings, pictures, pointing, gestures, and repetition as I talk to make my speaking easy to understand for ESL beginners, so they can acquire English without study or translation.

Great lesson! Thank you! At this time my route to the work reminds me a nice walk. At first my route is through the park that has many trees. Then my way continues near appartment houses and green alley. Next I walk near two-story houses, across the street, again I walk near houses and at last I am at my work. The time of my small travel is about thirty minutes. Also I can use a bus, a route taxi, a tram. It can save about 10-15 minutes. But nowadays I work on a computer all day and I need more move so I choose to walk at my work.

Sometimes in Russia -30° and less, and sometimes, people have to wait public transportation about 1 hour 🙃

It can get that cold here in the winter but not very often. I'm glad that usually I haven't had to wait very long for public transportation. Sometimes there would be a problem or delay though.

@@ComprehensibleEnglish Wow, Okay! I will share your channel with someone. It is not a big problem. So, if you could make a video about transporting things from point A to point B as a truck driver. Nothing about the truck itself. The idea is to learn simple sentences about communication with people.
      For example:
      0. Hi. I am delivery.
      1. Where can I stop my truck?
      2. What time will you unloading or loading me.
      3. What ramp number should I go to?
      4. Do you have a forklift to unload ?
      5. Hi. I came for the pickup.
      6. Will I be able to turn back when I go this way?
      7. Can you help me backing up the truck because I can't see anything backing up.
      8. There are situations when the driver must help with unloading and loading things from the container or directly from the truck.
Drivers need short commands for crane operators or forklift operators. For example, a little more up or back or forward, etc. Something like that.
I know that, you are an expert in English comprehensible input so, if you have any advice to us, We will be happy to watching you.
      Thank you a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion Krzysztof! I can't guarantee I will do a video exactly like that, as I try to stick to topics I'm more familiar with and I'm not very familiar with truck driving. What I can try to do is use the kind of language you gave in the examples in different videos. For example I am doing some videos that feature actions and commands, so your last example gives me ideas for more short commands that I can use.

    teacher~~ I have a question.
Why did you pronuunce "di street car" instead of "the street car" at 6:21?
English learners used to learn to hear di sounds in front of vowel words.
When I saw your video, there were a few of those parts🤔
So I just wanted to ask you a question about this^^

    • @ComprehensibleEnglish
      @ComprehensibleEnglish  Před 4 lety +4

In that case, it might be because I am thinking of what word I am going to say after "the". People also say /ðiː/ (like "thee") when emphasizing the word "the", not just before vowel words. (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The#Pronunciation)
This is an example of why it's important to learn through listening to a lot of input from speakers of a language. In many cases, native speakers don't actually follow the rules that are taught in classes, or there are many exceptions to the rules.

      Teacher Thank you.
After reading your reply, I searched "thee"sound words in audio, not just before vowel words.
It was a good for me to understand principle of "thee"sound.

I'm looking into the problem. Before the video had no captions, but now CZcams has given it captions as if it is in Vietnamese, even though I told CZcams this video is in English. It's very strange. Unfortunately this seems to happen sometimes with videos.
