    I've owned the exact vinyl air freshener for a few months now and it's adorable. The scents don't last long but you can put essential oils on them and reuse then

    • @justincase1898

    My mom gave me the dash mat and it never made it out of the house because it's so useful for adding extra grip to stuck lids, rusted pipes, moving large and/or awkward furniture, etc. It's been used literally to pieces (which are STILL useful!)

    • @blahorgaslisk7763
      @blahorgaslisk7763 Před 3 lety +7

      I cut one up and put the pieces under the legs to my fathers chair. He was in his late 80's and after some blood cloths had their way with his brain his coordination wasn't the best. Every time he sat down he tended to scoot the chair back a few inches. A square of this mat under each leg and it stayed put. After over a year of use it started to disintegrate and it also bound to the floor pretty hard. But the chair still didn't move.

    The same company that makes the tissue holder also makes them in a plastic version with a sliding door piece that bends the tissue to the side and closes. The one I have was given to me by my mechanic, it has his logo on it. I’m assuming the company sells those personalized in bulk much like pen companies do. The one I have, although a better design, still blocks the mirror.

I just use the large box of tissues and use at least a two ply or three ply but you have to put it in the right way so that it dispenses like the box and it works well. Should always, always, always prep your dash with alcohol before using one of those dash pads. Dust and protectants (like Armor All) will cause the pad to not stick very well. That's why the phone is able to lift it up. After you've applied it, you can then reapply your favorite protectant around the dash pad.

    Why would you ever want to put something on the dashboard? Cars have more than enough compartments to store stuff.

    • @blaireshoe8738
      @blaireshoe8738 Před 3 lety +5

      Compartment availability strongly depends on the car 😅 That said, even though the vehicle I'm currently stuck driving has NO compartments except a drink slot and the glovebox, I *still* wouldn't put things on the dash when I could put them on the bench seat or in the passenger footwell (floor), even if it inconvenienced a passenger. Things sliding around or even just reflecting onto the windshield can be quite distracting, and you wouldn't want to accidentally melt your electronics in the sun!

    • @compzac
      @compzac Před 2 lety

      @@devKazuto that kind of proved justins point you dont have as many possessions and the ones you pointed out, cellphone, wallet and glasses. but that being said some cars dont have center consoles, mine doesnt the only storage areas i have is a glovebox and the door pocket, which i use to store stuff since my glovebox is strictly for my cars paperwork, flashlight and spare bulbs. having extra organized storage is a good thing, but that being said i would never put anything on the dash i wasnt willing to let the sun cook, or willing to let any members of the criminal element to see and think about breaking into my truck to take.

    @ev4662 Před rokem +2

    The whole tissue issue was that there was a lot of friction between the sheet of tissue & the leather material of the case, the reason it worked so well with the original tissue was that the packaging was wrapped in plastic making each tissue easier to slide out without ripping. Hope this helps!

  • @ultracurious
    @ultracurious Před 3 lety +3

    With the tissues, I'm thinking that having to pull the tissues through a slit in the plastic acts almost like a bit of a brake. Could you put the tissues in a (refillable) Ziploc bag with a slot cut into it work? That might stop the tissue from being such an excellent curtain? And it may make them easier to get out too. Please include this one in a longer term follow up, I'd like to hear if you end up keeping it 🙂

      I agree on the heat problem for the dash mat. However, I don’t see any situation where a phone would be a good thing to put on the mat. I like the idea of glasses (like if you are wearing prescription sunglasses but you need a place for your regular glasses and don’t want to carry around an eyeglass case) or maybe if you’re a guy your wallet can go there so you’re not sitting on it when you drive.

    I think the vacuum will be great for people who enjoy the outdoors whether at the beach, inner city, or at a park. What I look for in a trash can is if it will fit on the floor because most "free space" in a car is where feet go. We have motion sickness issues in our family and typically use a small trash can with an oversized liner and supplies under the liner.

    The visor tissue dispensers were all over every Dollar Tree I went into a few years ago. Not sure if it's the same manufacturer. But I brought one cause at the time my kids were younger. Ran into the whole refill problem also.

    In regards to the visor tissue holder. We bought one from the 99¢ only store. Not as nice looking as the one you show but same concept. Works fine. The store also sells a 3 pack of refills for 99¢. Not a bad deal. Thanks for your reviews.

    Have you ever thought of reviewing tire pressure gauges? The reviews make me not want to buy any of them. The vac/inflator/gauge looks like a good multi purpose gadget. Do you think it’s pretty accurate?

    • @compzac
      @compzac Před 2 lety

      generally from my experience the gauges equipped to tire inflators are not accurate, i have no idea what reviews you may have looked at, but the standalone gauges tend to fair better, at least they agree with what 2 of my cars that can actually tell me what PSI whereas one of my inflators is about 20 PSI out at its worst and my other one is 5 when not pumping but 15 when it is

    Trash can is a problem that I’ve been trying to get a handle on since I have 2 kids. I found a regular 5 gallon bucket and a reusable way to strap it behind the centre console (bungee cord) works for me the best. Plus it’s easy cleaning.
    Some people may not be able to use it due to the size but your local Lowe’s or Home Depot have more sized buckets.
    Just a recommendation to those looking for a workable solution that appearances don’t matter.

    I have the tissue thing and I love it. I don't think I have that exact one, so the dimensions might be different, but I put fast food napkins in there and have bad no issues. I don't fill it full to the point of friction, but it can store a lot. I put it over the passenger visor so it doesn't block my mirror. The napkins also don't stick out and get in the way of view.

    I don't have the same car trash can, but put my car trashcan in the legroom of the middle back seat of my car.
    I usually have the middle armrest down back there and no one sits there.
    When I'm driving, I can easily put my trash in it from the front seat.
    I put stuff on the front passenger seat.

    I have one of those dashboard mats...I find it useful, but as a Las Vegas resident you know how hot things get on the dash. I had my phone on a mat for a bit, but got very worried about how hot the phone got. I'll be able to use it a few months of the year when it's cooler.

    The tissue holder - I got mine at the dollar store for $1.00 and yes the clips do block the mirror slightly I have to move it just a tad to be able to use the mirror. And I refill mine with any brand tissue and how you did it is exactly how I do mine.

    Love the car gadget videos, they’re some of my favorites! But for the car trash cans, I’ve seen some Amazon pictures show that you can put the strap inside your center console so it sits between the two passengers on the floor! It would be an issue if someone sits in the middle, but you should look into that configuration!

    • @Timeless14
      @Timeless14 Před 3 lety +1

    I have a car tissue holder that's sort of like that one, but mine is a plastic box that velcros to the roof (I keep it between me and my passenger). I refill it from a regular box like you tried, but because of the location and size of the box the soft tissues work just fine. I got mine locally quite some time ago though so I'm not sure if one can be found online if someone wanted one now...

  • @chyreisejordan

    I would reuse the plastic container it came in, because the material inside to me is what's causing the friction of the tissues not coming out smoothly. Don't know, just thinking.

    You can spray a scent onto the air freshener "record" and customize it. You could also saturate a cotton ball with a scent (vanilla extract is great) and stick it into a plastic baggie with the "record" for a couple hours.
