What I find most shocking about this episode is that it essentially predicted what newer TV's will be like in the 2020's and beyond. Most newer TV's nowadays don't support analog inputs (Composite, S-Video, Component etc) and instead just support HDMI only (Digital Input). Since the Wii is only capable of analog output like in the case with a lot of retro gaming consoles, it becomes a frustrating process to find a way to hook one up to a newer TV unless if you spend the money on an expensive analog to digital upscaler.
The joke is, consumerism is what motivates Cartman. He want to the future to get a Wii, which at the time the episode aired was the new thing. Looking back now it's funny that he would go all that way for something that's obsolete even by today's standards. He couldn't wait to get "the new thing" of the current time. Confusing marketing behind it (some people with average vg knowhow still believe it's a pumped up accessory and not a new consolle) the gimmick was underwelming in relation to the wii motion controll one, the tablet interface made many multyplayer asimmetrical, which for a kids ends up as "player one is cheating" , smaller high-end project pool released over the entire lifespan, a lot of showelware with too complex of concept and gameplay mechanics, extreme modification of older ips gameplays to integrate the gimmick, not enough attention on the "the hardware is a lot more powerfull than the wii" on the marketing side (even the snes managed that), no "gimmickware" like wii sports or 12switch/labo
He's also missing the sensor bar, games, HDMi or AV connector cables along with the power supply cords. Not to mention the interior of the console will have been eroded by that point.

I remember this second part of South Park episode really well. I watched it on Paramount Comedy (now Comedy Central UK and Ireland) in the middle of the 2000s.
