Italy’s Mount Etna Eruption Creates Rare Volcanic Storm

- An eruption of Italy's Mount Etna created a volcanic storm that could be seen across the sky over Sicily. Researchers say the striking event is unusual and rare. Boris Behnke, a volcanologist with Italy's National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology, told the Associated Press that volcanic storms are a rare phenomena that happen in particularly violent eruptions or when the erupting volcano is near water. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer has the details.

I think you mean Italy's three HIGHEST active volcanoes. Campi Flegrei next door to Vesuvius is Italy's biggest active volcano. It encompasses a much larger area and has produced a high end VEI 7 eruption. Geologists believe it is capable of a supereruption (VEI 8) and classify it as a supervolcano.
Dude I was thinking the exact same thing as soon as she said Etna was the largest of Italy’s 3 volcanos! I’m like hmmm she didn’t even MENTION Campi Flegrei !
They don't mention that because it's currently "sleeping". Last eruption dates back to the 16th century
@@TheSuburbansky1 Vesuvius is also currently sleeping. Campi Flegrei is presently more active than Vesuvius.
If camp flegrei ground uplift continues people will need to evaluate in may/June time from buildings becoming unstable and the like

So volcanic lightning is caused by ice crystals in the sky or ash. When they collide, they blast apart from each other and arc together, creating a bolt of volcanic lightning. Yes I know, ice in a volcano.

A marked increase in volcanic activity. Satellites being lost at low earth orbit. Small increase in earthquake activity.
You're going to be seeing more of all of this with the weaking geomagnetic field.
