  • My engine compartment wasn't quite measuring right. It was close enough to mount the fenders and the hood, but the fender bolts were way to the edge of the slotted hole and the hood hinges weren't spaced quite right. In this episode I struggle with measuring and moving the shock towers to the right position.
Here's a link to the the a thread in the Vintage Mustangs Forum where there is a picture of the dimensions I referenced:

it is amazing how much of an effect even the smallest adjustment makes. glad you were able to get the measurements within spec. Too be honest it is probably closer now than when it came off the assembly line. I am finding that working on my car they were never meant to be perfect, so they kick and scream as we try and make them better than new. Great job, looks good. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

I put the link in video description. Let me know if there are any other dimensions that I can help with. I was blessed to have a few others help me by providing some dimensions and info. I'm happy to pay it forward.

Getting ready to tackle a 65 mustang. What points are you using to define the car's center line? My car is missing the radiator support.😢. Also, did you level the car initially at the 4 normal jack points? Thanks

    Hello, question?
How did you put that cord in the middle of the car?

Not sure exactly what you are talking about. If you mean the string from front to back, I just took a bunch of measurements between the passenger and driver side at a variety of points to dictate where the string went. Then I tied it at the front radiator fram and the rear trunk. I hope that helps.
