Jews aren't a monolith. They don't all fancy Israel, nor what the extreme right wing governments of Israel do.
Judaism and Zionism (what it entails) are near polar opposites.
Left wing Jews support Israel in it's pre June 1967 borders AND a Palestinian State. Right wing Jews and 'christians' are all "Muh God says so" and are open to no rational debate or anything that doesn't end with either A) Eretz Israel, or B) Armageddon.

Trouble is, they've hired administrators & professors, along with a large segment of the enrolled students population there, who are actively championing this antisemitism.
If she, and those 2 other disgraceful college presidents, had the courage to tell the truth about what's really being allowed and not allowed at their institutions, they'd be going back home to serious campus protests aimed directly at them - and they know that is EXACTLY what would happen.

Columbia, Harvard, Pennsylvania (a.k.a. "Penn"), Princeton, and Yale are all private universities, not state universities, and their presidents and governing boards and not directly accountable to the governors or legislatures of the states in which these schools are located. All of them have multi-billion-dollar endowments accrued from donations by wealthy alumni over generations, and this wealth insulates their current generation of leaders from anger from state governments, the general population, and often their own alumni. That's why calling them out at these public hearings is so important. These so-called "elite" universities have an outsize affect on mainstream American culture, politics and economics, and their destructive influence must either change or be greatly reduced.

It would be better if federal funds were channeled into enabling disadvantaged students to access short technical courses at private providers that deliver the skills employers really need, or to establish new state technical colleges to deliver such courses. Even most high-tech jobs don't require degrees, certainly not liberal arts degrees. They require employees with technical skills only, not employees with radical ideas. Most companies at best need a relatively small number of people with advanced degrees. Even high-tech giants are starting to remove their requirements for degrees for many jobs, preferring to train people without degrees that they can start on much lower salaries. Many colleges have failed to keep up with the times, and employers are increasingly rejecting employing radical thinkers in favour of people who provide hard skills and don't infect the workplace with radical ideologies.

I thought their testimonies before Congress were the equivalent of giving testimony in court? They wouldn't get away with their non-answers in court; if they persisted, their non-answers would give the worst impression to the judge and jury, and likely result in the judge ending up directing the jury to draw their own most obvious conclusions. The legal councillors that have prepped these college presidents don't seem to have considered the reputational damage their testimonies are doing to the colleges they represent as individual leaders. And these presidents don't seem to realize the damage sticking to their coached testimonies is doing to their own reputations.
