I never read Percy Jackson until I was an adult and now I can see why everybody loves the series so much. I used to be a Fanfiction writer (for HP) and heard awful things about the Percy Jackson fandom. There were communities and forums set up to attack and bully authors that would write a pairing outside of the pairings that everyone else like. The fandom back then for Percy Jackson was awful and a very scary place to be. However, if I was starting in the Harry Potter fandom back in the early 2000s (think from 2000-2005), I don't think I would have gotten past the first book because of how awful the HP fandom was back in those days, to be completely honest.

There are 13 books in the ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ series. Because 13 is considered unlucky. There’s also 13 chapters in each book for the same reason. 🙌🏻
I am re-reading the series and I noticed this trend. I love it. I never noticed this when I was a younger reader, which is a shame.
I read the first 2 and did not notice that trend!
And the last book in the series has 14 chapters, super sad cause it's like finally ending and is less unfortunate with 14 chapters somehow 😁

Watching a lot of booktube, and seeing how many books everyone reads so fast, made me go trough books so quickly, instead of enjoying it. But you made me realise that it’s not about how fast you read, or how many books you read in a month. It’s just about enjoying it. Thank you for that✨. OMG- I am reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up right now and especially when she is discussing books I would think- okay, I would like to know which booktubers have tried this method! And I can think of nothing more satisfying than having shelves with only books you've read- how wonderful!!!

Oscar Wilde only wrote one book but he's written a lot of poems, short stories and plays. I've heard the importance of being earnest is a good play of his.

I've noticed that I will slow down on reading a book that I really enjoy. But if it is early in the series, I will read through it so fast and then take forever to read the last one cause I don't want it to end lol

I’m so excited for you - getting your first place is such a milestone! As far as stickers on books go, I have used a hairdryer on low for 15 seconds or so to loosen the sticker to help it come off! It doesn’t leave any residue and has been my go-to to remove them (if you want to try it!)

What i looove about Naya is that no matter the flaws of the book, she still enjoys them and has an emotial connection to them. Most booktubers focus more about what they dont like about the books and i feel like they can miss out on a great adventure.

Girl, Camp Half Blood was my childhood too!!!! I’m obsessed!!! Like you said many people loved Harry Potter but I hadn’t read them until I was older!!! Absolutely understand the love for Rick Riordan’s work!!! ❤️. Also The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favorite Oscar Wilde books! You should definitely check out Wilde’s play The Importance of Being Earnest!!! It’s fantastic!!!

pro tip if you heat up the stickers with a blow-drier they will come off no problem without leaving residue as well

I too was in Camp Half-blood whilst everyone else was in Hogwarts. I didn't get to Hogwarts until I was much older. I am actually currently reading the Magnus Chase series and it is SO GOOD!

If you enjoyed the percy Jackson series and Madeline Miller’s works AND if you love the myth of the Minotaur please please please PLEASE read the books “the king must die” and the “the bull from the sea” by Mary Renault! They are a beautifully written novelized version of the entire myth of Theseus!

I love your shelves! If you want to remove the stickers from your books without any residues, use a hairdryer. Just turn it on, hold it over the sticker for 30-60 seconds and it will peel off no problem!

Hey Naya! If you want to cleanly remove the stickers from books just take a blow dryer on low setting but medium heat and it will release the glue, then you can slowly peel it off. Works for me every time!

PS if you want to get rid of the stickers on any of your books (I’m thinking particularly of those precious Percy Jacksons that you might be afraid to destroy) put a teensy bit of goo gone on a cloth and rub it on and the sticker should just crumble away. It’s a life saver I swear!
