To be frank
Kawhi is a part time player. Plays in regular season and goes on vacation in post season. Paul George has a cap limit to how much he actually cares about winning a championship and competing. And Harden creates so much drama and adds so much dysfunction, it's hard to find any players that mesh well with him.
Best Big 3 James Harden was apart it was in OKC along with KD and Westbrook and still would have been relevant today if they would of stood together.

Gotta love Stephen A. He may be over the top sometimes to a lot of ppl, but I love how he passionate he is about sports, especially basketball. He speaking nothing but facts about kawhi too. That dude is a beast when he’s healthy, but he can never stay healthy when his team needs him the most. And that’s a big part of why the clippers are in trouble. They need to move all of their core pieces, get some good assets back, and prepare themselves for their new arena soon.

Banking on Embiid is no different than gambling on Kawhi. We have seen both players hurt full seasons, half seasons and into the playoffs. At some point you have to say, “Let’s package as many players and picks as possible, unload this guy and rebuild”. Your team will struggle the next couple of seasons, but this is better than believing either one will bring you the title.

From a business perspective, you still need to put out a winning product, you still gotta sell them tickets, having them together gives you that, a competitive team during the regular season that inevitably loses in the playoffs. Harden taking a bench role makes the most sense now. His court vision is still fantastic, but he's no longer a consistent scorer able to break a defense down at will every game.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing him coming off the Rockets bench. Not for the money he wants though.
Rockets are still a couple years away from really contending; Harden will definitely be at the right age for it by then, and can retire a Rocket.
Shannon is 100% correct. At this point, its more about drawing people into the new stadium with star power than it is for regular season and postseason success.

I and everyone should be done with Kawhi. You can’t rely on him to be healthy, simple as that. Not an opinion anymore, it’s a fact. And if PG leaves in free agency, you trade Kawhi and get as much back as you can for him.
Personally, I still think PG is capable and his game seems to age well. They should try to keep him if possible.

I’d compare him more to kd, an offensive player you can slot into a lot of teams primarily to get you buckets and prevent the other team from doubling as they now have another scoring threat to watch. Pg is just less consistent than kd and has to work more for his shot as he doesn’t have the size advantage kd does.

Ant reminds me more of MJ than Kobe but more of young MJ. As skilled as Kobe was, he didn’t have the hops or hangtime as MJ or Ant. Kobe didn’t have the up-and-under layup package that MJ had as Kobe couldn’t palm the ball as well or hang in the air as long. But Kobe and Kawhi play more like late 90s MJ. Used their back to post up defenders and then shoot a fadeaway.
The only comparisons I see between Ant and Kobe are their team situation. At age 22, Kobe did have the luxury playing next to prime Shaq. Had 6’10 Horace that one season in 2001. Then from 08-10, Kobe had twin towers in Pau and Bynum. Had 6’10 Odom as the best 6th man. Ant can also be compared to DWade who had Shaq by his second season.
Then you can say MJ, Kobe, DWade, and Ant had/have this fearlessness and confidence. Ant does have a better supporting cast than what MJ and LeBron had at 22. At 22, MJ had Dave Corzine as his center. Magic and Kobe won rings at ages 20 and 21 because they had that luxury playing next to Kareem and Shaq. The 1995-1996 Lakers won 50 games prior to Kobe and Shaq’s arrival in 1996.
Ant came back down to Earth in Game 2. From 43 points to a respectable 27 points. And he honestly didn’t need to have a great game with the way the team blew out the reigning champs. Still shot a respectable 11/17. I don’t remember Jordan or Kobe ever being that efficient in 4th quarters. Ant was hitting 70%-80% of his threes and 100% of his free throws in 4th quarters prior to last night.
Ant swept KD and Booker, and he’s ready to sweep Jokic at only 22. MJ was getting swept by Bird at 23 and 24. LeBron got swept by Duncan at 22. Ant is defeating NBA champions, MVPs, and Finals MVPs at 22. LeBron can’t even beat Jokic next to AD. Ant’s team is destroying that team that destroyed LeBron!

Ant has already leapfrogged MJ and Kobe at the age of 22 in terms of team success over MJ and individual stats over Kobe. Hard to compare because MJ didn’t have an all-star teammate in the beginning while Kobe did but wasn’t the best player yet on that team and didn’t really lead a team to a title until the ‘08-10 teams.
Hey, I’m a big MJ fan and I know Charles (of DreamersPro) is a late 80s baby who grew up on Kobe. If Ant surpasses them both, I don’t mind. Got to be open to it. It’s like video games. Our nostalgia is what holds onto that past. The OG Final Fantasy VII remains my favorite video game of all-time but I could admit the remakes plays better than it. Gotta let go of our “old feelings” from the people and things we grew up and idolized as kids.
I do know LeBron is NOT *better* than MJ or Kobe though. He’s a manufactured lie for two decades from the media. But Ant could be the truth and then some.
