Thanks for joining me for another video! There is one horse missing from this video, can you name him based on my Instagram? Anyways, I will be doing a full series of videos with him from start to finish being that he is a 2 year old OTTB that isn’t broke, he JUST came off the race track so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to show you everything that goes into starting a new young horse. Currently yes, normally though there is more variety as I’ve had ponies, appendix horses, warmbloods, etc but I do love my thoroughbreds!

I love that you take so many off the track thoroughbreds. Warmbloods seem to take over in showjumping and it nice to see someone jumping bigger tracks that hasn’t got a purpose bred horse for the job. One of my horses is off the track too and it gives me more hope that he can make it 🤞🏽

The condition of these horses is absolutely fantastic. I raise thoroughbred yearlings and love the industry with my whole heart, and seeing OTTBs go into great after-training is often the best part to me. But even your 25 year old looks absolutely stellar. Great feed, great exercise, great care and it shows 😍

you have a great eye. i am such a sucker for a big goofy bay gelding. My old boy was a 1991 17.2 bay OTTB out of Damascus lines. He was so handsome. I miss him so much.

I love you videos so much! Could you do a video on in depth information on training your OTTBs, caring for them, and getting them to competition? I have a horse named Cali too but she was a brood mare for the Amish and we bought her from an auction and when she was put in a (4’+)pasture she jumped out! You really inspire me!❤️

Why is Troy's mane banded? I've seen that when trying to change the side of the mane, but usually you would put the mane on the off-side, no? Just curious :-)
Do you own the barn that the horses are kept at or do you just livery at this place?
I would just love to hug all the horses and I’d especially love to have Pilot for my two daughters. Heck I could hug you for saving the horse that was about to be taken down...I’m thinking that’s roughly what you meant. If I was in your state I’d want my girls to volunteer. I know there should be places in my area/state. My oldest will be talking to our great uncle who used to breed thoroughbreds but he’s really ill now from secondhand smoke. Not sure why he was so nice to let smokers in his car or smoke in his car but that’s a whole other story. I loved this video too. I’m also getting them to talk out our cousin who’s a professor of veterinary medicine to get her feedback and knowledge...gotta pick the brains. Please keep them coming.

Not sure if you watched my Feeding video, a little bit of info there. I am working on a video that details each supplement and how it benefits each horse, etc. Look for it in the future.
