- Spaceship exterior design belies advanced tech and plenty of substance within Hyundai’s all-new people-mover 👉 Full Review: www.carsales.com.au/editorial...
The all-new Hyundai Staria has replaced the low-profile iMAX as the Korean brand’s people-mover in Australia.
Wrapped in a futuristic body that accommodates up to eight in comfort, packed with technology and available in three well priced equipment grades powered by diesel and V6 petrol engines, the new Hyundai Staria is also surprisingly good to drive.
But should this big, futuristic mum bus gazump the Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, LDV G10 and Volkswagen Multivan at the top of shopping lists for people-mover buyers? Join Feann Torr to find out.

Driving this for a week. What a value for $
Previously drove Mercedes suv & sedan, Prado.
Great functionality and technology make a big different.
Totally missed the mark with not having the seats fold for a full flat floor like the Carnival. Yes they fold flat but kind of useless for transporting large items when there's a foot step up halfway along...
So Many people are buying these in South Africa. I have seen 3 on the streets over the past 4 days. I want one so bad!
On Monday my pop is going to Hyundai dealership because we actually might be buying a stereo and we are going to look at a Santa Fe and a Palisade so I’m excited
Fantastic brand,Hyundai. Very,very reliable
I rented and drove it on the Great ocean road, 8 passengers on board, during the xmas vacation 2021. It exceeded my expectations in many ways. Very easy to drive. I saw few curious people on the road taking its photo. Only suggestion is that the brakes can be sharper.
Hi. Where do you live? Because I was just wondering the same thing where can I rent such cars without having to... you know, purchase it.
Proper review 🔥👌🏾
Does the 3rd row have curtain airbags?
Which suburb the video was shot at, looks really nice.
Hi. Thanks for the review.
You mentioned the Toyota Tarago as an equivalent vehicle, however I can find no such vehicle on the Toyota Australia web site. Is this a vehicle to expect in future?
Toyota Tarago is a quite an old model. The final generation (4) was sold in Australia between 2006 and 2019. Toyota have introduced a new van to replace it, that being the Granvia.
In japan its the vellfire and alphard.
space shuttle on 4 wheels?
No front armrests !? That'd drive me mad. Only 3 years warranty V Hyundai standard car warranty of 5 years. None of the pockets storage are lined so they would rattle around constantly. Seats don't fold individually or flat, so what is the point of the size ?
I wish Hyundai would bring this to the US.
The second row seat let people down if compared with Odyssey and carnival
It handles well because it’s based on an SUV - never thought I’d hear that! If there’s a plug in hybrid option coming I’d think about it. Great for mountain bikes and dogs… can you take the third row out by the way?
Imagine an EV with diesel generator? Could probably drive 500 miles running the diesel as a generator and a modest 50kWh battery
Why don’t we get this in the states
Seeiously..... that exterior!!
You should see it at night.. very2 cool
i wish there was a car like this except smaller
I thought you could make the seats face each other ?
Looks like a concept car that was imagined back in the early '90s, kinda like it....
LOL - how much do those windows cost to replace???
I hope they make it electric and also change the color to something similar to what ioniq 5 has. 🙂
My Dreams 🖤💜 staria❤😢❤
Sure, as a rule I must hate it. Omg I'm getting old because how cool is this car!
60K and no arm rests for the driver or passenger, and no child seat anchor points in the rear is a massive fail. Apart from that it's awesome, an electric version would be good.
Van is really nice, but I am more taken by that beautiful neighborhood. Where in Australia is this?
Melbourne, western suburbs
Maribyrnong, Melbourne, Victoria
I LOVE the simple futurism of it !
Suddenly, every other Van looks ugly and old fashioned !
You Got it wrong it's uglier than the new Hiace wouldn't be seen dead in it
@@bernielennox1031 Your tastes in car design vary dramatically from the overwhelmingly positive response to this car.
@@edwardfletcher7790 Funny thing is i own iloads 4 of them won't be buying the new one it's just ugly have ordered fords as soon as i saw a pic of the staria
@@bernielennox1031 Yeah sure mate lol You've got a BIG business and you choose work vehicles based on how they look not their reliability or cost...lol
@@edwardfletcher7790 Can buy the ford 10 grand cheaper than an staria just as much tech better looking and better resale buy them with an excel sheet
Looks ok 👍
That spy camera though 🤭 spooky
😏😏😏
Fake Taxi springs to mind 😅
Updated version of Delica . 2nd and 3rd rows are so bland compared to VW and Kia .
Mitsubishi has the delica, but decided to keep it in Japan.
In a decade from now I think almost all the cars will look like this.
the no front seat hand rest is a letdown
Get hold of the Hyundai NLine Premium SUV 2 litre that might please your subscribers.
i would not put a baby in the 3rd row anyway so honestly its a "anti idiots" feature not to have them there to begin with
Looks like it should have been electric
👍👍👌👌

I believe hyundai made this for kpop idols in the first place
Like a train.
No
No armrests !!! , why didn’t this con artist mention it , just a sales pitch for Hyundai
I mean I can respect where they were going with the design but it just looks extremely ugly, really missed the mark. Could've applied this kind of design to one of their sedans or coupes, there would be much more opportunity to accentuate the curves and panel shapes of that kind of look on a smaller car, not a people mover.
Looks better than in white but still ugly
Perfect interior,
Perfect Rearside
Perfect Sides (Except Front Doors)
Perfect Almost Boxy Shape Useful Style
Perfect Visibility
Perfect Comfort, Tech & Practicality
Terrible Front Shape & Front doors,
Terrible Tiny Bonnet,
Terrible Tiny Smart Car type Wheels,
Terrible headlights design,
Please make a Full BOXY shape car with this kind of Tech and Practicality in!
Arm rest
This car is so ugly yhoo
This is the most ugliest car of recent times.
If only it wasn’t that ugly…
