There are different types of Hernia and the umbilical Hernia is common during pregnancy and sometimes even after. If the umbilical Hernia opening is not that big and could still be fixable without surgery, then try my exercises. However, if it is getting worse and see a doctor and see if there is a recommendation for surgery. Umbilical hernia is found in males and females both. but the percentage in males is just 20% and in females it is 80%. in males it occurs due to lifting weight with wrong posture or in those people who have poor abdominal muscles due to their overweight. apart from this if somebody has suffered from prolonged cough for a long time he may also suffer from umbilical hernia because of the jerk put on abdominal wall while coughing. in females It is seen during pregnancy or after pregnancy both. friends the most important reason for umbilical hernia occurring after pregnancy whether it is a normal delivery or cesarean delivery is not wearing of abdominal support. and sometimes it is also not advised by doctors also. but this abdominal support should be worn. Due to the split of these muscles in females sometimes a hole is generated between these two muscles and the intestinal content protrudes from this hole.

@@jonathankuhn2180no one has been able (yet) to prove that these kind of strengthening exercises “heal” a hernia, but many have reduced the size of bulging and some have gotten the bulging to go away. It is also important to improve ones diet, as to reduce bloating in the abdominal region, and reduce gas and constipation. As regular constipation is often believed to be at the core of what causes many hernias to develop. So doing these exercises on their own, without addressing the other issues, likely isn’t to help. Even if surgically repaired, you run the risk of another hernia, if dietary issues are involved. If one is always having to give a good “push” to pass a turd, you need to fix your diet.
Not sure what I had going on, but I researched to the best of my ability, and came across a dozen or so people who did heal their hernias in various ways. I switched to a mostly carnivore diet to eliminate inflammation and did exercises and stretches, all good now.@@Jacked2theTs

Thank you I just followed your instruction and felt this might be the one of key excercises in treating inguinal hernia because your posture/breathing method seems to be most efficient.
Some of the movements were definitely harder than others but it all felt very beneficial to me. Love how you always talk about going as far as you can go and do the movements as best as you can.

I have a epigastric hernia I believe I stopped doing my abs exercises every other day and have just been doing this video 3 times back to back every day plus one weight lifting session a week because I have to at least lift once a week for my mental health if you have any extra advice I'd be happy to hear it ty

Hai. Your video is just amazing and it's easy to follow.. I have umbilical hernia after delivering my baby.. So I keep on following your pilates and getting good results.. Meanwhile my tummy skin is very loose, saggy, can these pilates help in tightening my tummy skin? or these pilates are only for core strengthening?
these are the gentler program to strengthen core, but to tighten the tummy there are a lot of variables, you can add walking, and strength training program as well . but adding these will help tighten overtime as you gently progress to intermediate level. and once you are in advance level you will see more results.

Not sure if you answer your fan base but does streghting the core / abs prevent the hurnia inguinal from coming out?
Eventually yes, it will. Proper diet is important as well; as in avoiding foods that cause bloating.
However, you need to make sure youve pushed the hernia back into its proper place before doing core exercises; I wear a hernia truss-belt, it helps a lot. And its important to stay consistant with the exercises.
