Thank you to Karl for our last game of AoS - Hry
Last year, my dad presented me with the entire Ultramarines chapter, complete with Thunderhawks, Stormtalons and more Rhino's than I can fit on my dining table.
He has since, painted 3 companies of Primaris marines and his old chapter has successfully occupied my loft.
He loves painting, prepping and playing in that order.
Also, you have no idea how much space 1300 Ultramarines takes up.
Lovely :) All the best wishes to your dad!
You have to upload a video of that holy 😳
1300 Ultramarines.
Someone call the inquisition.
The Ultramarines broke their codex astartes.
They are not codex compliant.
Honestly jokes aside (screw the codex)
My respect that your dad finish so many models I haven't even finish 100 and my pile of shame... oof.
As a MTG player I can confirm "cards" is by far the largest faction 👍
I'm glad I got that right! :)
I attended a 40K event 4 years ago, and brought my Eldar army to play.
During the event, an attendee approached me and said, "Dude, your miniatures are ANCIENT."
Indeed, most of the models in my army were painted when I was in my early 20s, which put them at being older than most of the people attending the event.
Point is, I would never retire my miniatures, regardless of rules 'updates' or changes which make them obsolete. I still play 40K, but chose to go back to earlier editions.
Nice C! I'm glad to hear you have an army to cherish. I'm sure these units will jump in and out of what comes next. I guess in the end, I'm just building a bigger army :)
"Playing games is fun"
Probably the most underrated sentence in the whole hobby.
Lovely video, great job :)
Hah, yeah... I'm here for the fun Pat :) Thanks!
Finishing an army is pretty overrated, especially when things keep changing on you. Great realization at the end there, always fun to see someone just work on something they enjoy.
Thanks Jesse. I enjoy the feeling of having done the one army. But it feels like the next will be a much more relaxed venture :)
I pretty much never get more than 1k points painted. Enough to play a fun game or two, not an overwhelming project. May finish a SCE dragon army, but that's only a few models.
@@corbingovers7559 A 1k game is great, especially if one maybe wants to get more than one during an evening or for mini "at home" tournaments
I am delighted that you love the journey because it’s a pleasure to watch and hear the story.
Thanks Mark! I'm glad to have you with me and to get started on some new Stormcast :)
I honestly thought you would strip the paint off those beautiful miniatures! Thank goodness you didn't.
Oh no... they will stay in reserve. Who knows. In another three years time, they might be back in fashion :)
Thx for sharing your thoughts and painted army.Guess many said this before but the look and feel of your videos are so unique.Helps me relaxing at the end of the day.
Thank you Dan, I'm glad to hear it.
I very much enjoy the whole army presented and the summary of the colour schemes and techniques used. Like always, it's calm, well explained and inspiring.
Please do continue!
thanks K! Will do :)
Always excited to see a new video from you! Amazing as always. Looking forward to the lessons learned and techniques tried with the new models.
Thanks G! I'm looking forward to it too.
Been through your catalogue now, and rewatching some. This was one of the first I watched and I love the sentiment. Having gotten back into miniatures in the last two years after 25 off, “Real Job” and kids, I look at an unpainted range of minis as they taunt me. Or the painted ones that I’m not happy with, or those that haven’t played in a game yet. Watching this I now I think, stuff it, I’ll do what I enjoy when I feel like it, It’s just plastic soldiers for a Big boy!
Glad to hear it Rob. And yes. This is mean to be a hobby. A hobby should be something we enjoy doing and that relaxes us. Not the other way around.
Pretty deep philosophical message that hits home. It's about the journey, not the destination.
Very much so W. Also to enjoy the journey. Thanks :)
Thumbs up on that stellar videography and choreography. The camera pans only to pan back to reveal more troops. Lots of playing to pull that off. Great job
I'm glad you noticed C. There was a certain amount of fiddling about.
First time watched you on my TV in 4k. So much better than on the small screen. I have to re-watch a lot of the past videos.
Another great video!
I'm on tv now? That's pretty cool :) Thanks T
You got it right! Fun is what people completely forget having these days. It seems to be all about stats and winning, but I've always been drawn to the whole build up --- seeing the minis for the first time, yearning to paint, then actually painting, then play. This cycle just continues and as you said, it is a relationship, but we aren't obliged to stay. Another thing I agree with is taking your time. Nothing sucks out the fun more than the pressure put upon themselves to fully paint in unrealistic quality and time expectations, by the time they're done, they're burned out. I wish more people hear your message as well to hopefully have less stress and more fun!📦🎨🙌
thanks P. Yeah, personally I think the best is to try and find what makes one comfortable and happy in the hobby, and not listen to much to how other people do their hobby :)
That's a bloody excellent looking army... envious is one word :) Thanks for the showcase!
My pleasure K, and thank you.
Excellent video like always, looking forward to the new army and more inspiration
Thanks Daniel, I appreciate it.
I love your style! Great looking army and very inspiring channel.
Thank you very much K!
Good looking army. And a vary Kool way to do a showcase! Good luck on the new army. Lol. Thanks for the video. I think I’ll take inspiration and do this for my 40k army when I’m done with it. Thanks!
Hey Josh. Hope you are doing well! And thanks, a lot of work, but it all looks neat in the end :)
Thank you for yet another great video of yours! The message you sent with it is amazing. Too often we look awkwardly or even embarrassed at our growing "piles of shames", while the world around us produces more and more great plastic which needs to be painted. It can be disheartening sometimes, when we plan for games and "need to finish" new models for these and we switch to a mode of stress instead enjoying the hobby itself - which is why we keep doing it. Thanks for the positive message and the hint to focus on the fun instead being chased by always continuing new releases.
Well thank you Eugen, I appreciate it and I very much agree with you. Have a great weekend.
I’m just getting into painting miniatures. Probably won’t play really, but I enjoy the journey and I can use many of the miniatures in Macro and close up photography. I bought a starter set and starter paints. Also bought the entire Armies of the Veil-Touched, because I’m an all in kinda guy at times and those models blew my mind and I didn’t want to miss out on a single one. Yes, some will be in a pile of shame for a while until I get better at painting, but I’m really excited to paint them and photograph them. I plan on doing a video on how to do proper photography for minis…stay tuned for that one.
Good luck with the miniatures and the videos Carl
I love this explanation, the paint process and the thought process
Thank you :-)
My pleasure K, thank you.
I too fell into the “My army is poop now?” category. I got into miniature war games in Oct of 2019, with 40K. I was going to but the Death Guard half of the Dark Imperium starter box and get 2 more Fetid Bloat Drones and have an army. I got them, and as my interest in 40K increased, I added the Space Wolves to my growing things to do. And just as I rounded the two armies out, bought books (Rulebook, codexes, psychic awakenings, and more) there was an announcement. 9th Edition! My jaw dropped, I cursed, and plotted on getting the Indomitus box set. Sure I got peeved, but it was more of the “I was just getting into this, got the books, and am painting my army, waiting for a lockdown to end so I can play my first game, and you do this!” than it was anything else.
I also started getting into other GW games like, Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, Warcry, Underworlds. Same thing happened to AoS as did you, same reaction. Kill Team got a face lift, I got excited. I’m waiting for the others to follow suit. See, I learned that these games evolve. I’m no stranger to this, I’ve played Dungeons and Dragons since 2nd edition. It’s not like you HAVE to throw out all you have spent money and time on because it’s not the shinny anymore. Just means you get some new shiny’s to help polish the old shinny’s so they can work together and bring you joy. Because that’s the thing, this isn’t a job, it’s a hobby. It’s supposed to be fun. When it stops being fun, I’ll stop playing, and move on to shuffle board or something.
Spreading out with more than one game is fun. Models that are used in one game can go into another sometimes. Especially if they are non gw games. I think, as long as one is enjoying the hobby, that's the main thing. If disappointment is happening to often then maybe non gw games are to prefer :) Thanks James!
Outstanding as always!
Thanks Jesse!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate the thoughtful, positive message you bring to your videos
Thank you Benjamin!
Loved the presentation of the army by panning back and forth. Also it's great how varied the models are but they still look cohesive and great together as a whole
Thanks F! Yeah, I'm quite pleased with the army to be honest :)
What a great video and some great insight. Feeling really encouraged to pick my paintbrush back up since really, there is no pressure to finish an army. It's just about having fun. Thanks for the great video!
I'm glad to hear it G. That's the main thing right there. It's about enjoying the hobby :)
Don't really have much to say here. Just another standard 52 Miniatures video where you knocked it out of the park! Love this, keep it up!
Well thank you S. I appreciate it truly.
Lovely video! Specifically your Stormcast models is what made me want to start my own army of them in the first place. Good to see you are excited to start painting more :D
Thanks B! I'm glad I could pull you further down into the plastic swamp. And yeah, I'm exited. Now I just have to figure out how to paint them. That's probably why I'm exited.
Games are meant to be fun, when they cease to be fun it becomes harder to get motivated to not only paint minis for said game but to actually play the game. I have a couple of games that I really enjoy playing, Kings of War is one of them (I bought the rules when they first came out on Kickstarter and will keep playing them for as long as they are in print). Having a finished painted army is a myth…..there are always more units to add to your army……I’ve been adding units to the same army in one game I play for nearly 5 years now and I still have more to add! Keep playing and painting, releasing videos for us to enjoy and follow your progress as a gamer!
Thanks Andy. Yeah, you are quite right. We just need to try and figure out what in the hobby we enjoy and treasure that :)
The good thing with when you have finished getting your first army painted up is you can just add bits to it over time. You can do it box by box, there's no pressure to get stupid amounts done quickly because you've already got a playable force, you're just adding to it to give you more options. That is unless you like having a big project to get done.
I'm getting close to having 2000 points of space marines painted up to a "battle ready" standard. So from there I can just add things in to give me more options. Either because I like the minis, or the rules look like they'd be really fun to play with.
This is very true Jack. I'm just stoked for the new theme and all :)
That left-right panning and showing different minis after each pan is a nice cinematographic touch! Very tasteful, it feels like one long take. Excellently executed!
Thanks B! I'm glad you noticed. It is one long shot actually, only with some "down time" edited out :)
Once more, soothing words of wisdom. Thank you.
Thank you Jason :)
I feel as though many people will resonate with this video. Thank you for sharing and please stay safe.
Thank you Rob. I appreciate it as always
I generally keep my army, and add new units over time. I have more skaven and necrons than I could ever use, but even the ones that are poorly balanced I play some times because I like them. Sometimes, you also discover that your Doomwheels are not as terrible as your thought :)
Doomwheel! Thanks a good word. Yeah. I agree. I think my army was very entwined, a lot of units playing of each other. And that has kind of gone away. But I mean there's nothing wrong with the units themselves. I think the big thing is the allure of painting a new army :)
Your mature approach to this "subject of subjects" in our hobby is incredibly refreshing and, in my opinion, blows everything else away. Very much looking forward to an update on ninja raiders 2.0! (although, come to think of it, you'll probably surprise us all with a completely different approach this time around...)
Thank you P! There will be a twist. I'm not sure if it will be surprising.. but I'm enjoying the plans :)
Love it man. Just gettin my first AOS seraphon army. U gotta paint what u love is exactly right!
Lovely. I really dig the Seraphon. One day I want one of them armies too :) good luck!
I like the fact that the dust has settled on Dominion and you are only now bringing it out. I bought my box the day after release (because FOMO) and it is still sitting there untouched as I couldn't keep up with the hype train. Maybe I'll tag along on your journey to let them see daylight and find my inspiration!
I hope you get it open :) there's some lovely miniatures inside!
I really enjoyed listening to the zen attitude you've found for painting minis!
I'm glad to hear it R, thank you.
This was great! Can't wait to see the new models painted ☺️
Thank K! I'm very much looking forward to that.
Great Video. Inspiring. Cheers!
Thanks Marcin
Your videography is fucking insane... Can't believe you only have 40k subscribers. You deserve 400k
Well thank you S, I appreciate it.
the production value of the b roll is insane
Thanks I!
Awesome video! Can't wait to see what you do with the new Thunderstrike stormcasts. The heroes especially. Fantastic sculpts. I was heavily contemplating picking up the stormcastss side of the Dominion box, and this video revived that urge in me. Hopefully, I'll be able to afford them soon.
Thanks U. I'm sure they will all come separately as well. Then you can pick up exactly the ones you like. Although, the value of getting the box is pretty good. I plan on one day painting the orcs too, and then the box will definitely be worth the money.
I love the way that bird unit turned out.
Yeah, I’m very happy with them :) Thanks!!
The production quality and creative camera work on this channel never ceases to amaze.
Well thanks M! I appreciate it :)
I am very much looking forward to the new army’s story and paint scheme. Keep up the good work!
Thank you A. Me too :)
I would like to make a suggestion for basing for future armies/squads or whatever project to decide to work on: I think it would really help if you work in more vertical layers, as in varying heights for not only the heroes, but also the regular troops. It can add a lot to the feel of an army and you can have fun figuring out different ways of building up bases.
I've takin it into my plans! Started doing some new bases yesterday. Thanks for that :)
Your army looks amazing, I must say. Especially the bird dogs. Taking inspiration from nature worked very well
For me personally having part of a collection invalidated or weakened by a change in rules was massively frustrating. One of the big reasons I stopped playing GW games. It felt like a revolving door of spending with very little respect to an existing collection that took many hours of work to finish. Great video nonetheless
Thanks Richard, I appreciate it.
Try Frostgrave or Stargrave. Smaller warbands get you on the table quickly, and you can just use your GW minis. Even an edition change didn't matter enough to invalidate armies
that bit at the end about how working on an army can be far more rewarding than finish one resonates so much.
Thanks D!
Great video 52! Journey before destination =]
Thanks CC! Aye. Can't wait to get started on the new mini's :) The Stormcast are dead, long live the Stormcast.
Great video on so many levels
Thank you C, I appreciate it.
As someone with an Ironjawz army that is fully painted and started in AoS 1.0 - I understand where you are coming from on many levels.
I was very close to getting Ironjawz instead of Stormcast. I even got me some Brutes. But I was allured by the Stormcast variety... now see where that got me 😂
Epic video man keep it up. (New sub, random recommended)
Thanks S! I appreciate it and welcome to the channel.
Your army is outstanding. My Warriors of Chaos are about 8000 points of pretty well painted warriors and marauders from a dead game that have since seen duty with the Warlords of Erehwon, Oathmark and a variety of skirmish games. My 7th edition tyranids are great for bug hunt games and a variety of one page rules type games work for my Ultramarines. Five Leagues from the Borderland will be out in print soon and you have a crew...also Warcry looks fun. Thanks for another enjoyable video. Nice work.
Thank you Kris. It's a good thing we enjoy painting minis right? :)
Looking forward to seeing your next army. I hope you're story for them is just as interesting and the ninja rangers. What camera do you use to record these amazing videos. Thank you for the inspiaring content.
I hope the new ones will be fun to work with. Looking forward to it. This is all filmed on a BlackMagic Pocket. Thanks B!
Nice. I’m actually conceptualising a stealthy black ops Stormhost known as the Blacksteel Pythons. Being primarily a 40k Raven Guard Space Marine player (the chapter that specialises in clandestine operations and guerilla warfare), I find that the Stormcast is my gateway into AOS.
Nice! I can see that. The stormcast design seem to be going a little away from being the Space Marines of AoS, something I like. But you are absolutely right. I would assume gameplay is somewhat similar. More based on fewer elite units rather than hordes or monsters.
I'd love to see how you did the cobblestone bases. They look amazing! I'm talking about how you've based the ones using the army painter rolls, since this is so much more practical that the sprue leftovers.
Also: Great video and ending quote!
Thanks U. I recently did a video about "Sci-fi" bases. The technique is pretty similar, just change out the rolling pin and add more fantasy style details rather than sci-fi.
Like my compatriot Denis Villeneuve, the visual quality of your videos is a delight.
Well thanks Bob!
I'm so excited to see what you do next. Maybe some kit bashing I'm sure. Though it would be kinda neat to make a diorama of sorts of the poor fellows who couldn't make it to the new edition, may they rest in peace. But meanwhile a new adventure awaits under a new banner. Cheers, and good luck ^-^
Kitbashing for sure I hope. I'm slowly planning what to do. The army is good to have a reserve, who know when I change my mind about certain forces of the rules change again:)
Sure do love your way of looking at this hobby.
Thanks S, I'm glad to hear it.
Love this video!
Thanks Elias
I really appreciate your commitment to making each mini different, but still carrying colours over from mini to mini, so they look cohesive. They *do* look cohesive & I hope you have a chance to play them all together some time, even though I know you're excited to move on to your new army/ideas
Thanks G! yeah I’m sure I’ll be swapping units back and forth. And I hope the “new” army will be the same kind of unified chaos :)
Thanks for sharing your journey friend 👏👍
My pleasure Mark!
Love your content.
Thank you Brooke
Your painting skills are amazing . We’ll done
Thank you Leo!
"... Or cards in Magic the gathering." haha my Coffee almost went out of my nose.
Sorry for that cleansing experience... :)
Ahh a Hobbiest after mine own heart. I'm personally going for every kill team and warcry warband out there because I can't be bothered to complete anything as big as an army... Love the content, much appreciated.
Skirmish games are nice that way! And I guess, along the way, if you find something you just adore.. you can start working on an army :)
Thank you for inspiring me!!
I'm glad to hear you get inspired Josh :) Thanks
I bought a start collecting stormcast box just to get me back into the hobby, did a few base models and the heros then bought some space marines for a deathwatch kill team I want to make because they look cool!
Painting things that look cool is very important! :)
Dislike of uniformity is what has gently shoved me into the loving arms of more and more small skirmish games with distinctly different character from mini to mini. I highly appreciate your beautiful army's variance. Proof they can look like one army but not be monotonous. Constant upgrades of Games Workshops that obsoletes my models just means more troops have been upgraded to Stargrave crews.
See that's a great reason to play some games that are not as "strict" on the model side of things. Yeay for Stargrave. And I see what you mean with skirmish. I think I envisioned my units that way when painting this army. Skirmish army :)
I can't wait for the video of painting Bastian Carthalos, our Lord, Savior, and coolest looking badass in the Mortal Realms.
Ah! We'll see if I get there. He's not part of the plan as yet.
Excellent video, as always! Even though I am not that fond of the overall Stormcast asthetic, I can totally see the love you are putting into your army. And since even the masters of classic painting re-painted their work once in a while, I do not see any shame in re-painting an army of plastic toys ;)
Thanks F! I think the new Stormcast really are heading in a great design direction. A little less bulky. But I have plans on kitbashes and stuff to - because I agree.. sometimes they are just a little over the top Stormcasty.
And also, Red Wing Shoes! Great taste! 👌
Love them :)
Nice painted army, nice idea with he base rims.
Thanks S!
I came back to your channel to see this army again and to say that this edition with new Generals Handbook you can possibly use those units you painted and altough they are not meta top, they will perform very well with new dynamic style of play. They can jump from objective to objective harrassing enemies. I used Vanguards in last few games and must say this is the most fun, unexpected way to play Stormcasts :)
Thanks Martin. I have a new list, I'm just taking ages to paint it. One that is done I'll probably have 5000 points or more of stormcast and then they can do whatever they want...
Great video, thank you.
My pleasure B
Love the army presentation with sliding left and right. But i am sad this nice army went into a box and not on Display on a cupboard. Most of my miniatures wait 99,9 % of the time on display for a game, but i watch at daily basis.
Thanks B! I've yet to get a display cupboard... so maybe we can call the display cardboard boxes? :)
A few months late, but I suspect that your Stormcast Ninja Rangers would make a fine "Lords of the Wild" army in Saga: Age of Magic. It is based on the Saga historical skirmish ruleset by Studio Tomahawk, and is in fact what finally tempted me, a die-hard historical wargamer, to try fantasy wargaming. Like Stargrave (but more so), it relies on players to provide the back-story to the warband/army, providing only generic/archetypal factions which you can interpret as you will. It also allows complete freedom in the types of miniatures used. It would at least be a way to get a beautifully painted army onto a table again, and from your videos, you might enjoy the free reign that it allows one's imagination.
Sounds Lovely Andrew, thank you. I'll have to read a little about the game :)
The great thing about minis is - as you pointed out - they are not locked into any set of rules. There are plenty to choose from and almost all the rest are not going to pull the rug out from under an army with malice aforethought. ;-) That you will be painting ever more minis is to our advantage however (because we get to see both them and the process), so do carry on. Cheers!
Aye, I mean, on the whole I could just say "this troop is now something else". I did that during the game that was seen briefly in the video. "My snipers are now sword men" type thing. And the game was as fun. But yes. For me a great reason to paint more minis :) Thanks H!
Great video! I've expected something in a morbid tone, but it turned out great!
I dread moment when my Ironjawz get replaced by newer miniatures, but also am really excited! Change is good, as long as it's not happening every single year.
And like you mentioned: you can still use old models. Proxy or just as is.
Yeah. For me the important thing is to enjoy the miniatures. If I don't like it, I'll proxy or kit bash. To a certain extent. It's tricky to make a sniper look like a dragon... 😂
"I'd rather just keep on painting" ...that could be your (or your channel's) motto :)
right after "I might be late to the party but my drinks taste better"?
That's why is good to have at least one finished army to be able to play. Then you can work on other armies but still have something to play with
No army is ever finished, we just keep on going till we get bored and play with some new ones and so the hobby room grows...
This is quite true :) Thanks S
What a refreshing change to the new editions changes. Most youtubers lately are hating on GW for ages. Yet here is a man enjoying his hobby and the changes that happen!
Best miniatures creator on CZcams in my opinion. Thank you.
Well thank you humbly S. I can see competitive gamers anguish at having to change their lists. But at the same time, a lot of us lash out when there hasn't been "new minis" created in a while. I can have "opinions" of how GW handle certain things... I do videos on that sometimes.. but on the whole I'm here to do my hobby and enjoy the time spent.
“ Welcome to National Geographic’s, today we’ll look at the ninja rangers in their natural habitat.”
Hah! Thanks Cameron
You know, for a moment when you were showing off each unit individually, I found myself thinking 'God there's no way they're gonna work as a cohesive force, the paint jobs are just too varied and diverse'. Then I saw them all together and I gotta be honest, I was really impressed by how you made it all fit together, it's fantastic.
Thank you. I think having similar style bases and a coherent “tone” - like most colours are different from each other but they are all still rather muted colours - go a long way.
So long as you're enjoying yourself!
That is truly the point of this venture :)
@@52Miniatures agreed. It's a hobby, not a job!
F in the chat for the Ninja Sigmarines.
Also, love the new intro Alex ^^
I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the new army!
Thanks Aleria! I'm looking forward to get into the new miniatures as well :)
@@52Miniatures You're welcome and I am glad to hear it ^^ Starting something new is always a blast. Finishing them however is always a bit sad, but also satisfying for sure :)
Nice video, i love your painting styles and miniatures! What army list do you have in mind?
Thank you M. I want to go for something a bit more robust and less shooty. As a change :) So some of the stuff from the Dominion box plus a bunch of paladins. The dragon riders look very tempting to... and having a couple of monsters about is pretty handy right now.
@@52Miniatures very cool. Yes i have like 20 paladins, are they still viable? I am also in love with dracolines as mounts but i dont know if they are good. Cant wait for the dragons too, i will take one as centerpiece.
@@MiNDmaZing I think Protectors definitely are viable! And the dragon riders are ridiculously good :)
I have done two important things in my life. One I did right, the other didn't.
It was right to stop playing any tabletop games back in 2007. And start collect Warhammer miniatures for my Collection ONLY.
It was wrong that I didn't collect oldscool fantasy miniatures much, not just for 40k conversions. I was shocked when I found out that long before the death of "fantasy battles" there were MANY artists who worked with the old fb on ROUND bases - simply because it's better for models. Nobody forbade me to do the same, right?
Anyway, that's one of my goals now: more old fantasy on new round/oval bases for the crazy Age of Sigmar world. It's so cool!
Sounds like a great plan! Good luck :)
Army painting is rough. I'm more of a warband painter. But I understand why some enjoy the spectacle of armies.
Your thoughts were insightful as always.
Thanks Niko. I am looking forward to getting started on a new one... but ask me in six months and I'll probably be back to "why am I not playing skirmish..."
Keep up the great work.
Thank you H! I appreciate it.
The army ended up amazing and I hope you at least finish painting the last horse bird, because they are beauuuutiful miniatures! :)
Thanks Valdo! Yes, she deserves a completion, you are quite right.
I liked the video before watching, and I stand by my decision after seeing it :)
I stand by your decision D! :)
Happy to see the Stormcast ninja Rangers again. It's ok having them in reserve and work on an other army or faction.
Aye. They will sneak up on whoever leaves the room and stab them in a toe.
Great video and voice.
Thanks Carsten :)
It's nice to hear someone positive about change for once :)
Thanks Astrid :) I like to just move forward. And I like the new edition and the new miniatures. So for me there is not much to complain about.
I wouldn’t mind buying new modes, if those models were in any way or form skaven related.
Ps: love the army you’ve painted it really looks amazing
Hah! Yeah. I can see that. Let's pray to some rat gods for it. Thanks S!
I still play the old aos 2.0 with my children as I have been bad and haven't fully figured the new rules ( I had lock down time last year to learn the last aos). On the subject of pure painting fun, I can wholeheartedly recommend painting a bust. Its a very different experience and can be very relaxing with generally larger surface areas which enjoy dynamic brush strokes. For me painting busts has really improved my normal army fella painting skills.
I like the new rules. There's more of them, more to keep track of. But the game play feels more even and responsive. And yeah, I haven't gotten to painting a bust yet. One day :)
I have found letting rules dictate my experience can be a despairing commitment. We play Underworlds without the deck (just character cards) and my nephew and I have a simply great experience. I guarantee tournament chasers can play any edition of Warhammer and we really should treat them as separate games. Being capable of engaging this retroactively with the community is just as important to me as chasing the next carrot. Consider me 6 years behind GW releases…shoot going on 7. ⚡️🎨💖
@@brentwood7660 Aye. I agree. I think it comes down to ones opponent. Playing in game stores, and usually the latest edition is praxis. On the other hand, there's probably a lot of people out there the would respond positive to requests - like "anyone want to play 4th edition 40k?". Personally, the people I play with play rather competitive, they go to tournaments and stuff. So I kind of have to tag along when the rules change.
@@52Miniatures Much love Alex. Ride the wave. This is where the fun and excitement really is. Cheers to the tourney!
ah that is like how i am soon enough starting to branch over to genestealer cult for my 40k army. since i have gotten a little tired of painting imperial guardsmen. and since the two armies can be combined i can continue the story of it being a combined regiment that is the remnant of many different regiments. and now they have been infested by genestealers
Lovely stuff Kim, thanks :)
