I have a couple pretty decent helicopters from Trailmakers. I'll upload a new video of my newest helicopter that I can adjust the lift of the blades so I can just hover at one altitude while at full throttle. No logic for stability. It's just a well balanced machine! I will upload the video tonight!

im trying to make a chinook, but when it takes off it just spins around uncontrollably, do you know how to fix?
@dragonaffects9170 depending on how you are using the rotors you should make them spin counter to eachother to cancel out the torque produced by eachother. You can do this by either having both engines have the same input (say both use space bar attached to the green input but one power is set to 10 and the other is set to -10). If you are using dual double stacks just make sure the engines spin opposite of each other on each stack of rotors.
@@short0811 i found out by flipping the heli engine, the biggest thing rn is pitch and yaw, it works but its very slow

One suggestion for anyone following this tutorial, once you're done, try adding one more helicopter engine to roll the heli, it makes it even better! ^^

@@cannekill2158 If you look at the heli in the video, there's two helicopter engines mounted with the x axis going through the top, those are for pitch control. There is one engine with the y axis going through the top, that is for yaw control. If you mounted another engine so the z axis goes through the top of it, that engine would control the roll axis.

And you can fly if you dont want to
No tutorial need: all you need is a speed sensor at 0kmh or 0mph and have the arrow facing down and connect it to your engines and wallah floating done

Everytime i try to build some my brain immediately jumps to making a space fighter, mainly cus i heavily specialize in those kinds of builds and i mostly depend on tutorials if im making something other than space fighters.

I've made one light helicopter with the simple modular wing as the propellers. However when I switched to better helicopter blades my chopper just wanted to do backflips. The only thing I changed was blades. I'm having trouble improving my chopper. It's fine as is but it's really slow with the "blades" I'm using. I can't seem to figure out this helicopter thing. I'm playing on Xbox if that makes any difference.

Did the dev made so many changes to the base game that nothing can function properly without a gyro? i followed the build exactly and all the helis that i have built have a weird tendency of pitching too far forward right after lift off and pitches too far back into a loop into the ground after i have some height. it dosent make sense.
When is trailmakers coming out on playstation 5
not suer where i went wrong but my helis whole back part started rotating separately from the front and i just started flipping lol
Slight issue now is you can't stack helicopter engines on top of eachother and have them connect.

my heli engines stick to the heli and make certain parts move and warp... how did u prevent that? :/

Just add propulsion and quantum rudders

im making an attack heil, but he keeps flying up and falling, and the steering is wonky. so this will help, send my thanks to LittleCornDogs thank you. 4:00 and stability like a bike, this man is smart.
4:30 this is what is have in mine, its so much cooler and it flys stronger.
new problem, now using your controling stuff, it curls up into a ball and explodes in a sparky fireball of glory, how can i fix this...
i fixed it however i now have many weakpoints, this is not good..
You guys should really add a 1x3x2 and an inverted version. Even 1x4x2 would be great.

If only VTOL components have some sittings to make you able to hover and hlod position mid air it would make the game so much better and can help to get down those huge part scraps up on the floating islands in the main campaign
You can achieve that with some speed sensors and logic

I changed the yaw engine to a roll one, because no matter how I build helis in this game, they roll to a side on their own, it really annoys me that the lift being perfectly above the center of mass still makes it want to roll so badly.
Your center of mass is probably to high
but it wouldnt be the best fighting heli
cuz everybody would think ahead

Why only put blades on two sides of the engines (4) and not all of them (8) ?
Because the blades would not fit they would collide

Im in story mode so i dont have all the parts but this is actaully a really good helicopter without all the parts❤

yah, I just spent 2 hours on this. didn't work. I'm done trying to build flying machines in Trailmakers, it's too frustrating

This is definitely a bad helicopter it dosetn even have a semblance of a rotar or any thing for that matter
How dose this have 700 vewis on a channel with 6k subs
talks way to slow for all the cosmetic stuff that doesnt matter, then when it comes to the configuration of the engines, he speeds up his talking when thats when he should be slow, ugh.
