His first public performance on Comedy Central was amazing. No one there understood his humor until about halfway through (he was bombing hard), at which point he won them over. It’s funny because he never changed a thing about how he performs comedy, and his act was so successful because he is charming enough to just win you over! And then and only then do you see the sheer genius in it all.

I remember when it happened. He was supposed to be on the 98 Rock Morning Show in Baltimore, but he didn't show up. The DJs knew his cell number, so they gave him a call to make sure he was okay, and his wife answered. They barely got a word in before she told them to call his manager and hung up. They called again, left a message telling him they hoped everything was okay. I guess the producer called Mitch's manager and got the news, because the DJs told us, the listeners, the bad news a short time later.
