    Wildlife Photographer Stafford Fuhs takes you behind the scenes in photographing wild Prairie Chickens
    This is a short video on photographing wild prairie chickens. These little guys are so shy that a blind is needed to conceal any movement. Additionally you must show up very early as not to spook them on the plains.

    That was lovely to watch, and yes, the P1000 or its update is something I would really purchase given what I have seen here and elsewhere. Thank you for the effort, I realize how difficult it is to film for us whilst trying to get the images you have gone to so much trouble to get, much appreciated. The Saturn and Jupiter conjunction would have been perfect for this camera.

    Beautiful images...finally proof this bridge camera has some potential other than filming people from 10 miles away

    I have the P1000 coming in the next few days so was attracted by the title. I liked the story behind the effort of getting to the location, I think that's important in a film like this as it makes it more personal in a way. I thought you got some beautiful clips and pictures. keep up the good work and best of luck with you channel.

      You bet seem like with a bigger screen you can adjust your shooting a little more. How many times have we gone home and been disappointed or did not try something else because we thought things were looking greAt on that 3 inch screen.

    Hi I just got my new p1000 after a backorder and wait for more than 3 months. Do you have a video how you setup the camera for video and focusing birds. I have been a sony user, and somehow finding it difficult to track the subject and nailing focus on them when zoomed in. Had to turn off recording. Focus again and then start recording..

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  Před 2 lety +1

      Congrats on the new camera. So the focus on the Nikon P1000 is slow especially when zoomed out. I found that there is a push up button on the focus on the d-pad that tells the camera to refocus. Usually you would think that if you half press the shutter button it will refocus the camera this might or might not be setup If I remember you can use the back wheel as a 4 part button and if you push up and down on the wheel it tells the camera to try adjusting focus which can be slow. I when doing video would switch over to manual focus and found it quicker than many other forms of auto focus because you have a bigger focus ring on the p1000 if that is setup for focusing. Hope this makes sense. You can try my best video settings for the p1000/p950 if you have have not seen it.

    In your hands I have a whole new respect for the Nikon P1000. Nice to see what can be done with small-sensor cameras for those of us who can't afford
    the latest full-frame tech and mega lenses. How far away were you from the prairie chickens for most of your photographs?

  • @robertsas9001

    Great video and images! Can I ask what options are you using in the p1000 to photograph birds? I know there is a dedicated option on the wheel to capture birds,but for me the images are not that sharp as i seen many of the content on CZcams. Thanks in advance 🙂

    You made this video about a year ago. I wonder, after this time how tha P 1000 has work for you. I am new to your channel. I am a novice photographer and a birder. I am seriously thinking about buying the P 1000

      Hello, thanks for writing and watching. Yes the p1000 still holds up. I have a few other videos that use this camera and also a few vidoes that just lately compared the images closely to the Olympus and canon m200 counter parts which are mirror-less cameras. I hope this helps. All cameras have a considerable learning curve just set expectations accordingly

    Do you shoot in manual mode? Or do you go with the bird watching mode because Im having trouble focusing in manual

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  Před 4 lety +2

      Hello normally i shoot in aperture mode or shutter mode. I am putting together a video on how to get the best photos out of a point and shoot camera.

  • @charlescarabott7692
    @charlescarabott7692 Před 3 lety +1

    I am confused about the quality of the photos of the P1000 or the P950. Your photos seem great but other reviewers say the still photos are not good and have lot of noise so it put me off buying this camera. I would like to take shots of wildlife from long range and I also am a shutterstock contributer and they will reject pictures with noise. Really don't know if I should go ahead and risk spending $1000 on this camera

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  Před 3 lety +2

      Charles, noise is subjective to a certain point. So the reason why I suggest you shoot at ISO 100,200, 400 is to remove or lower the noise as you get more animal/subject detail. Are small sensor cameras noisy compared to aps and full frame cameras heck yes. The thing is with good light and care you can still get great images. Also, the strengths of the p950 and p1000 are the lens which cannot really be duplicated on full frame since you need to really crop like crazy to equal 2000 or 3000mm lens. Hope this helps
