RED PEA SOUP WITH BEEF || JAMAICAN STYLE RECIPE

Welcome back for #soupsaturday as we make #jamaicanredpeasoup ! #Peasoup is an all time favorite of mine second to #beefsoup ! It’s easy to make, this pea soup recipe is easy to follow and it will totally remind you of your mother’s red pea soup recipe! Nothing like a bowl of #comfortfood to get you through the cold days! I used Red Kidney beans, the sweet potato I used can be found in the supermarket and it’s called batata or korean batata. I used irish potato, carrots, scallion, thyme, all spice, and fresh corn! I had this soup for the first time this past Saturday from a Jamaican restaurant in Pembroke Pines, FL. So when you say to cook the peas for 30 mins, does that include the time it’s not boiling or you start the 30 mins from when it starts boiling?

How long did you let the beef cook, before adding in the veg?

It cooked for approximately 45 minutes. The key is to let it cook properly before adding veggies. Veggies cook very quickly
