Not to brag about Yamaha , But I do own a 7.5 h.p. outboard .My late father bought new from the dealer at the time of sale. It was advertised on a float in a parade in town. People were not to happy to try it cause it was not in water .just mounted on a boat and was running for all hear it. very low noise as well. But still no takers. So my father bought for to use on the river with a 10 foot fiberglass boat. It work ok and still like today . that about the 70 s . Still quite the little out board motor .

I have a random question, what is the total length of this motor from bottom to the top of the tiller while folded up? The reason I ask is because I want to see if it would fit in the back of my suburban. Thank you. Great overview of the motor.
Wish someone did video comparison with all the 4 strokes 25 hp outboard motors all tests done same boats and same amount of weight in each boat and do long distance trip test for to see how many miles or km's can one 5 gallon gasoline tank will take you I looked around on here so Noone

Gret overview. Have an open 14' fiberglass i use for inshore fishing. Got an oldish evinrude 15 on it. I was going to put a new Yamaha on it but now im thinking........25?
I have it on a 13' and love it. Absolutely 25 its the same weight as the 20
@@DIYeasycrafts thanks for your reply. How much more fuel do use now, as aposed to a 15hp? May i ask. Iwent to my local, only one, dealer today to look at engines. All had the gear lever at thestarboard side. On youtube i see the lever on the tiller!?! Is this old stock??
Which aluminum boat to you suggest to couple with this engine? A G3 14x42? What the best combination?
Sorry I have very little experience with aluminum boats. Im using it on a 13 ft dory like a Boston whaler
Does it vibrate a lot more compared to a for example Suzuki DF25 that is 3 cylinder?

Dealer put another motor on but wont reveal the problem, anyone have this problem with new F25 Yamaha outboard motor?

None at all. Usually starts with one pull and plains off a 13ft whaler type skiff w/o a problem.
@@DIYeasycrafts did u stick with the factory warranty? Was thinking of getting the extended warranty.
Gear case oil? New to this sorry, just got a 25 Yamaha.

hello, please tell me which oil in your opinion is better: Tohatsu Outboard 4-Stroke 10W-40 Oil vs MOTUL Outboard Tech 4T 10W-40? What is the oil in your engine?
Go with the Tohatsu, they are a good outboard motor company, so i believe they would know how to make good outboard motor oil.
Why not use Yamaha oil?

How’s the vibration at idle does in smooth out when you put it in gear?
It has very little vibration. Can hardly tell its running

You can buy them with our without. I got the pull start

My
Picked up one of these motors in a boat package Monday, put it in the water Tuesday, motor ran for 20 minutes and died. Made it back to the dock on idle speed, took it back to the dealer and they are putting a another new motor on. Should get it back Thursday, will report back on Friday. Very disappointed.
It’s a minor inconvenience. They’re giving you a new replacement so it’ll be ok.
I bought one when I was fishing out of state. Dealer mounted it for me and it runs flawlessly. Just finished the 10 hour initial break in. Here is a tip for anyone with a tiller steer outboard. Go to Amazon and for $22.00 you can buy a tachometer/hour meter. Very easy to install, and keeps up with motor hours for service intervals. Also nice to know the RPMs.
