I review one of the least expensive compact 9mm pistols offered by Ruger. I promise this will be my last table top review, moving forward everyone can enjoy seeing me actually fore the weapons I'm reviewing.
Couldn't agree more I love alot of my full size pistols no doubt but the way Ruger executed the sleek stream line thin design and small size is amazing the firearm seems to fit all body types and be confident and comfortable love mine I've added laser and light combo and night sights and of course 9 and then rounders as back up God bless stay safe guys much love from Fort Bliss Texas
Great little firearms I have the original hammer fired lc9 and the ec9 s on Monday was at my local ffl the had a used lc9 s pro for 230 out the door so it is now in my rotation. With the other 2. It’s great that they share mags.
Bro I carry the big brother Ruger SR9c! Been a Ruger fan for a while and they do not disappoint especially with the price point and quality of the firearm! Weapon goes BANG every time! Great video and content! Keep up the good work!
I firmly believe that the sr9c is the only reason the hellcat was ever developed. Love the gun and really appreciate the support. I've many more to share with the people and fully intend to do so.
Enjoyed your exhibition on a very nice little EDC pistol! Well done Ruger love the size and comfort of having a concealable 9 mm that is accurate as well as being a pleasure to shoot. Have to commend to Texas Tectalk the benefits of a Lapel Mic which makes the voice over clearer with no volume fall off. Thanks.
Yes, this is my carry when wearing shorts. Which is all the time where I live. I use an external CC holster. Good for self defense needs where 99% of shooting encounters are 15' or less
Does anyone have issue with inserting the mag that it catches pretty bad? I have to press the mag release for smooth insertion... Any suggestions how to fix?
I had the ec9s Ruger after I removed the magazine disconnect safety it had a fantastic light trigger was a good shooter I just didn't like to fix sights that I could not change so I sold the gun for a lot less than what I gave for it because of the sight if I'm thinking correctly the LC9s has removable sights
I have a LC9S Pro. It also does not have a magazine disconnect. When disassembling the gun first remove the magazine. That way you don't have to pull the trigger to remove the slide
With the magazine disconnect safety on the standard lc9s I don't think you can disassemble without pulling the trigger. They typically come with dummy mags for that reason but I don't have one as mine are used.
You can pull fairly hard on the slide after getting the pin out and it'll come right off without ever having to squeeze the trigger. Tbh, I still use the trigger tho just bc it's easier but for the safety minded out there....yea, don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble.
Nice firearm…. I had an LC9S and would like to offer a few comments…… I had the non-pro model with the manual safety which came out first. While not a fan of manual safeties, this one was so well placed and easy to manipulate it was a non-issue for me. The firearm was very accurate and reliable. The grip benefited from a Hogue grip or similar to add better texture, thickness and a better purchase of the firearm. Sometimes with single stack pistols it’s helpful to deploy the trigger at the crease of your finger rather than by the pad of the finger. I had a recoil spring break at around 1,500 rounds which Ruger replaced at no charge which I did not expect. I shot mostly softer commercial ammunition and “soft”124 grain reloads. My one negative comment and the reason I sold it was that I didn’t care for the trigger for a self defense firearm. I feel that it’s a great trigger for accuracy at the range but has no “build up” to deployment and did not feel that worked for me. I sold this to a friend and was very specific about my trigger concern but he was fine with it.
What you need to do hogue grips just came out with a beavertail slip-on grip sleeve which enhances magnificently the grip old I don't know if you'll get this but check them out as you do your wife or girlfriend where you going over like it better interim rubberized feeling grip
It is a compact pistol, it is made for close in personal defense. Practice with it as it is intended. If you want a full grip comfortable gun, buy a full size pistol.
Precisely. It’s a pocket gun best deployed from a pocket or belly band holster. Who has bigger hands than Hickock 45? He pocket carries one a lot and doesn’t even like the standard finger extension mag floor plate that comes with the mags, but instead uses the flat one for better concealment.
I own a Ruger LC9S, is not a bad gun, but i don't like that it doesn't have slide release, also it will jam or ftf if you use Horandy critical defense. I polished the ramp and what i recommend are the Norma 108 gn hollow point 20 in the box, also the Sig 124 gn works well. I polished the ramp a little more yesterday and will takevit to the range this coming week. I had it for 5 years i believe. I carry a Kimner Ultra Carry II 45ACP, with three Willson Combat magazines one is 7 rounds the other two are 8 rounds. I trust God first and that 45 second. I had it for 20 years, i also have only my right arm, lost it in the war in Angola in the mids 70s. I polished the ramp on my 45 and it swallows any thing i put through it, i reload my 45 for target practice. Smooth shooter, very accurate. I will carry the Ruger once i am completely sure it will not fail me. Have you tried shooting hollow points?
I don’t have much use for Hornady critical defense or critical duty. I’ve tried both on game and varmint animals and found both lacking. I have actually tried most if not all of the premium defense/duty ammunition in various calibers on everything from rats to wild hogs and deer and even one black bear with my .44 mag, and the only one I would bet my life on is Speer gold dot. Every gun and caliber I have used it in it has performed flawlessly and terminal performance has been amazing. My LC9s eats it like popcorn as does every other self loading handgun I own new or old including my ww2 bring back 1939 Luger and 1945 FN hi-power, and pre war polish Radom.
Is this much smaller than the Ruger Max 9 or some of the other micro 9mm pistols that have been released recently? It looks great but if it isn't really smaller, other than the width of the double stack mag well, it doesn't seem like it's worth the money. The EC9 is also nice but some posts say you can't adjust the sights.
It's honestly not smaller to the point that it's noticeable. The dimensions are roughly the same but the max 9 has better carry capacity. The one thing the lc9s has offers is price, coming in new around 300.
By the way, i bought 3 of the originals 9 tounds magazines. I don't like short stock guns, i need to have my three fingers wholing the stock. Pomahac magazines i don't trust.
@@stephenmachlica6993 I don't think it's any mechanical issue just that they weren't selling enough after a while. My fiance and I both carry one and have never had a single failure minus one shitty steel case round. In my opinion you've got nothing to worry about
I own and carry the LC9s. I am a relatively new shooter and carrier so take my choice for what it’s worth. I believe the LC9s was substituted by the similar but cheaper-to-produce EC9s and the newly released Max 9. I’ve heard numerous experienced shooters rave about the LC9s’s improved trigger vs the LC9 and maybe the LCP if memory serves me.
@@texastactalk542 Yes Sir, y never buy after market. The work well with the full metal Jacket. I shot 124 grain Horandy critical defense and one or two get jammed.
One of the most under rated pistols. Fantastic trigger. Great size.
My wife and I both have one. I use mine on our Church Security team. Works great.
My fiance and I both carry one also! God bless you and the congregation, glad to hear you're helping keep them safe.
Sounds like my kind of Church.

I have carried my LC6S for three years .Never had a problem, 2000+ rounds . If you get a extra mag make sure it is a Ruger mag.
I ended up buying an EC9s for $229 and works great. A lot of fun for the money.
What is the difference?
@@alfonsobenitez8574 ec9 has fixed sights, lc9s has adjustable sights.

Love it! It's a great CCW weapon easy too conceal and light weight with the stopping power of a 9mm.
I love this pistol I have the LC9s and Lc9s pro. I only use full metal jacket and it never jams.
Nothing is better than a Ruger, PERIOD
Facts although we love our Springfield xds 9mm the lc9s is our next buy im thinking

Fits inside my vest pocket when I ride my motorcycle. Very comfortable.
Love the s and m gear in the drawer at the beginning of the video

Good review. And I agree GBT
Buddy of mine sold me his for $300 with a box of ammo and some snap caps, I’m fairly satisfied with its performance
Absolutely. Exceptional gun with no trigger mods needed. Ruger customer service cannot be beaten should you have any issues. Highly recommend
So true! They sent me an extra mag just because I asked!
No trigger mod needed, but for $30 you can get the MCarbo springs and it's even *sweeter* for sure!!
I have it.. I love it. I rotate it with my Sig P365.. both great an accurate guns for their size. I paid $240 two years ago. I would never sell it.

Excellent everyday conceal

DeSantis Pegasus makes a really nice inexpensive IWTB holster for this pistol. The LC9s Pro has been my CCW for years.
